I remember having a choice as a kid.... I chose the GI Joe Hovercraft over the Jetfire and regretted it ever since (especially since my cousin ended up getting Jetfire).

Where was the 'truly generic' green one ever seen? Even in the first Ep, at the end, you still see the head fins on the two Green VF's with Breara in fold space IIRC. And the one that was gonna splash Alto (before Brera takes it out) also had the same head IIRC. IRL, maybe they didn't want to animate another head.... but the on-screen would need to be retconned with new animation, no? The Super Folda Boosta was only needed for speed and to circumvent the fold faults, right? IIRC, they have (standard) internal fold drives?

I went to a 160 and then 320GB on my original 60 with no issues at all. You gain nothing by going to 7200rpm or faster, and hear anecdotes that larger caches help (but no concrete proof). The whole YLOD thing and how much it increases the backup/restore time (with my 320GB it was something like 11 hours to get a full backup IIRC), I now believe using an external USB drive is the better way to go. Too bad Sony didn't put a USB port on the rear (like they had planned originally).

Star Control 3. It's definitely not as good as SC2... or even SC1 and I'm disappointed in more than a couple aspects of it. But still enjoy the game.

I think it's called a 1/48 Hikaru VF-1S. Seriously, though, someone did a custom and put it in Anime and other Sci Fi Transformers thread. I hae my 1/48 Hikaru VF-1S standing next to my MP Optimus Prime as is, though.

There's a DNS workaround. You set it to a third party that is poisoning/spoofing, or do it yourself. That's what I'm doing right now and get on PSN fine. The intital HTTP query to fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/list/us/ps3-updatelist.txt is plaintext. I am using my own DNS server to point anything *.update.playstation.net to my local web server, which is telling it that the next version is 0.0000. Not authenticating through anyone else and no need to update. Just went onto the Store and Home. I just wish I had done this before they changed the logos and login chime and XBL style advertising (except without all the convenience of XBL). That (2.9 IIRC) was another worthless update I could have done without.

Yeah staying power is definitely limited. I'm a bit annoyed at the main story. Don't they remember the shiznit that went down with the last group of shape-changers that tried the divide and conquer strategy? And falling for it in the exact same way? I was kinda hoping it woulda been based around the Borg but showed them segmenting/factionalizing after the death of the queen in Voyager. Or that the Queen is back and it's a new Borg offensive. Either way, the Borg should have been the main enemy, not the 8472.

Noone playing anymore? Commander 3 now. I took an escort with my freebie but it blew, so I bought a heavy cruiser. Mostly Cheyenne with a few pieces of Dakota (nacelles). I really think the T2 cruiser should be 3/2. I have totally done a T3 Excelsior, if they had it. These quad nacelle things are monstrosities. Probably go Defiant or Intrepid for T5 since I've never been a big fan of the Galaxy design.

I was (and am) really hoping Yamato revisit's the VF-1A low-viz for 1/60v2.5 and also has a VF-1J. In 1/60 I would do a whole team of 4 valks! Also want a TV-Roy. Always found the DYRL and beyond samurai shoulders on the pilot outfits more than a little ridiculous. I don't care what color the paint the arrow on the head... black would be nice, but I can live with yellow.

Right. It should be a separate die cast piece that is removable from the main fuselage. Still haven't gotten an 11C yet, though I really want one. Sold out at amiami. Anyone know if production on these was limited?

I <3 my VF-27 and display it in Battroid. Too bad the Super Folda Boosta isn't more cheaply available for Brera owners.

Telecoping is what I thought originally, but would probably need the crotch piece to be elongated a bit. Particuarly if the cap/cradle is integrated and permanent, that could give another cm or two, as well. I'm thinking hinged/folding or even scissors would be stronger. A single die-cast folder could still look clean and be strong enough. The bar should be barely visible as it is, so I can live with that.

I'd like to see the connection to the Alpha redone, as well. Permanently attached (retracting for Beta/Tread solo, Telescoping to connect to the Alpha/Legioss) with integrated folding landing gear.

Pulled out my Shadow Alpha... I was immediately amazed at how hefty it is... how much better I like the legs... how much more I hate everything else compared to the CMs. My Dark Legioss holds together fine as long as the synchro-cannon is there. The Stig holds together ok with the center missile thing, but the legs are much much looser. The Toynami Beta pwns the CMs Tread except for the shoulder missiles and the cockpit/chest.
