One of my favorite PC games evAr! And I liked the first one best of all. I always thought it would make a damned fun online/multiplayer game. Just have different factions of people (randomly or in turns select their countries), etc. Allow a max of tech development and have an option to have the aliens on, which could/would attack everyone equally. Maybe have a tech level slot that would allow you to colonize first the sea (from Terror of the Deep), then the moon and such. Move onto dimensional craft (from the Apocalypse).

Definately gonna be good. But the other 2 prequels have been good, too. We definately need more Jar-Jar. But yeah, this one is gonna be good. Just like the other 5.

I imagine the strike cannon (which I believed is referred as a "particle beam" or some such) is used like the M203 40mm grenade launcher is for the M16. IT's not used as an ueber/munchkin-powered super-weapon. It's used to mark targets so that the squad can see what the leader wants to designate as a target and what not. The VF-1 should have other means of doing so... but this would work nicely too, I imagine and easier to see than referencing one of them multi-display things...

I've always kinda hoped they would. A newer better sculpted YF-19 is gonna make the 21 and 11 look like the mid/late 90s toys they are...

That looks pretty damned good. Normally I don't like the scheme at all. You need to customize the pilot, too, though.

Heh bureaucratic inertia is the name of the game. The AF's own budgets are as much to blame as any of the Congress maneuverings. That said, I defintely hope Sen. McCain loses on this. I hope somewhere along the line we can get more F-22's than this order is for... It'd be nice if they could get to the numbers of the original order but I'm not holding my breath. As far as Iraq. I was THERE from Jan to June of last year. 90% of those people were not just happy but jubilant at our presence. We always knew the honeymoon was gonna end, though. We expected it much sooner. Help them set up a government and the ability to defend themeselves and we'll be gone. I think it's not that bad to draw Al-Qaeda-types into a fight either, but that's neither here nor there.

Never lost a battle in Vietnam. The political goals were lost due to the political micromanagement. Militarily, it wasn't a defeat in any sense of the word since there were no clear metrics for "winning" or "losing." Just an indefinite backing of a flailing government. Korea? The North Koreans got their asses whooped hard. A million screaming Chinese using human wave tactics can change the equation. But Truman didn't have the gonads to send them Chinese packing. I woudln't mind seeing the F/A-22 cancelled if a production F-15 Active took it's place... but I'd really like to see both. F-16 isn't that necessary. For air superiority, I'd rather have F-22/F-15 types... and for CAS something slower. F-35 may or may not fit the bill...

Your placement for the numbers is interest too... at least as far as a "purist" perspective might go. And why would you start with a 1J? Looks nice outside of purist-type concerns.

Oh there was definately consideration. Those pictures were coupled with a poll on their website asking the preference of minimal parts vs a more complete swap kit (whole legs IIRC). It would have been a mark of loyalty to the fans who to release the upgrades and we would have paid for the costs. But it wasn't to be. I would prefer Yamato just started doing more 1/60 Super Valkyries (at least a CF if nothing else), though I'd prefer they revised the line before doing so, incorporating some 1/48 elements (at least the telescoping feet, radome, and flaps, if not the transformation). I personally can live with removable legs. It's not like a 1/48 can transform in any semblence of the time it takes in the anime.

You'll need to modify the legs (back/top with slots and the outer sides with 2 holes). The backpack will need two slots on each side for the boosters. The "elbow" area would need a notch carved out and the "wrist" area also, to accomidate the tabs for the armor. It seems really prone to error IMO. And Yamato has let the plans to make upgrade kits fade into vaporware.

I think something about the size of the old Bandai would be nice... but I'll bet it would be about $300 bucks if Yamato did it... so maybe a bit smaller would be ok. But definately release one so I can moan about the price while buying one.

Prices on ebay are generally about right IMO. Bout $30-40 USD for a 1/60 scale non-Super VF-1. $78-80 for 1/60 Super Valkyrie... $150 or so for a 1/48 Super sounds about right to me, too... MSRP? No way. But it seems Yamato doesn't really expect it in their domestic market...

Well said. Outside of nostalgia G1 largely sucks. Some of them are decent, but TRU is smoking crack to charge what they're charging normal price... sad part is that some people must be buying it! MP Prime is outstanding. But some of the Alternators don't look nearly as good as their box art, either (namely the Viper).

Chapter 20 was bad ass! After seeing Mace in action in Episode 13 (which was my favorite Episode) and Yoda in whatever episode that was (15, i think?)... seeing a number of Jedi Masters and at least one Padawan (6 total Jedi by my count) get their asses kicked by a single droid was definately interesting. Anyone else catch it?

They should but they make their bread and butter selling repaints. That'd be harder to do if they were including multiple heads. All bout the duckets! Same with selling heads separately. It'd be nice customer service if they did it, but not in their interests. And I love the Max 1A. I'm just explaining why Yamato doesn't sell one.

Max 1A barely sells. Max 1S is too much of a niche thing... Hikaru 1S is different. The hero of DYRL and all that...

The Viper looks like crap in robot mode. The Subaru looks pretty cool, tho...
