  1. Looks good. I'm hoping to catch soem discounted but won't pre-order them... whether I pay full price or not will depend on the initial reviews and we get a more complete look at these things.
  2. TOS (gotta love Kirk and his swagger as well the fact he always got the woman and was arrogant about it too). DS9 a close second once they started gearing up and prosecuting the whoe Dominion War. TNG was too PC and "story of the week" and Voyager was blah (what I saw of it). Have only seen like 1 complete episode of Enterprise and there was no reminiscence of TOS. Boring, too.
  3. The VF-2SS is not meant ONLY for space but it is optimized for space. It's perfectly capable of operating in space, though it's not optimized like the VF-2JA.
  4. It's not $75 + 15, it's $63.62 at Wal Mart + $13 for these stacks = $76. Even sales tax isn't gonna add more than 5 bucks anywhere. Find me a Takara under $110 shipped... I see one on ebay for $73.50 but it's $42 S&H Usually $90'ish + 30-35 is the norm. Without this stack issue, the "dirty" paint scheme is more than acceptible. Especially for $30-40 bucks!
  5. A bundled Hikaru Strike would be cool. I really doubt we'll ever get a Max 1S since the Max 1A is still largely lingering around...
  6. I guess it's good if u do dioramas... I always thought the legs were good enough for battroid and gerwalk and landing gear for fighter mode...
  7. Maybe... or maybe they know and don't care. Even Yamato put DYRL style FAST packs on the 1/60 Hikaru Super VF-1J. Just seems like they're milking their SP sculpts...
  8. IIRC, the gunpods go in the legs don't they? Or maybe in the armor pack... been awhile...

    Yamato 1/48 Question

Prepare to make your credit card/wallet groan with the likely price! Probably only if the 1/60 one does well...
  10. Wow this thread is flying... I already have DYRL on DVD. Good enough for what it is, I think... so doubt I'd be buying an HG Version. Don't see what an official R1 release could add... mabye slightly better quality...
  11. Individually it doesn't sound like these are gonna compare to the Ep 1 and Ep 2 releases. Commentary and a good digital master on the main disc with all the specials on the 4th disc (like the Indy set)... People CAN dispute his "artistic vision" but I don't think anyone can credibly say Lucas is milking the fans when it's the opposite. Licensing underoos for KIDS is perfectly in line with his statements that's who he's aiming the movies at to begin with. NOT you Blaine, regardless of whether you think he owes you for "making him" (along with about a billion other people). I had forgotten about that other thread. Thanks for reminding, Hurin.
  12. I think Bandai could give Yamato a run for their money on accuracy... if they wanted to. And they'd produce in volume enough to beat them on price. Looking at the Takara/Hasbro Optimus Prime, it's almost enough to wish they would at least try...

    The 1/60 Monster

Woudln't surprise me if this thing was dead. Wasn't it back to the drawing board or something like that. I mean the thing is just big... Yamato could be able to make it hollow and save money (and thus MSRP) but I don't see that happening, either...
  14. I woudln't mind hearing the guy who did Roy Fokker do Focker in Zero. But otherwise, no reason to have any other RT voice actors in Zero or DYRL (which can be a "fictional movie-in-a-movie" done in RT's universe).
  15. Or maybe that HG was actually able to track down who had the US rights and buy them out... I don't think that was mentioned but it might have been...
  16. I'd have to agree on the colors, but I'd still lean on the Max...
  17. Nothing a bit of paint and TLC won't solve... if one's into customizing chunky monkeys that is...
  18. Who wants to buy an LD player, especially at this point in time... DVD is where it's at... if one has an LD player and the LD's, the whole DVD-release thing is a non-issue as they should be ripping it to DVD for at least themselves... but one needs the appropriate hardware (starting with the LD player and DVD burner, etc As far as his pride... it comes down to his "vision" of his filmaking, whether one agrees with it or not.
  19. Not if it's not finalized or is still in the "olive branch" stage of things, if not beyond in the tangled maze of licensing specifics (specifically in the mula and derivatives area).
  20. Heh not that bad for 10 bucks... eh.
  21. Pretty nice!
  22. Damn... I need to go to happy Japan-land.
  23. That's what I'm talking about. I hope this is the case and everyone can be happy. BW and HG need to deal... everything else is too murky for it to turn out good any other way in any reasonable amount of time (say the next decade! at least)...
  24. I am SOOOOOO on that!
  25. It hasn't yet happened on VHS after at least 2 releases past when they announced it would be the last time the movies were going to be available in that cut. I find that enormously refreshing that they're sticking to their word instead of milking it more. Lucas could clean up from some of the "fans" who have their panties in a wad over this issue, yet he refuses. This is ONE instance where it's NOT about money. Lucas could clean up on VHS and DVD and satisfy everyone... yet he doesn't despite the money to be gained. That says it's SOMETHING other than money that he's concerned about. It's not money and it's not for "fan" appeasement... The fact of it is, he doesn't care what anyone says or thinks. He releases what he wants for his reasons and if some people don't buy... then he's apparently not too concerned.
