  1. Especially since we already have Megs in an "accurately" sized gun-mode (as the Prime holding him shows...) which brings another point. Megs MUST be bigger than normal sized if he's that comparative size with the MP Prime... Kinda means he woudn't be a Transformer, though... Or just make a transforming Megs that turns into a fixed artillery piece... like a more-primitive Galvatron (155mm Crusader or something...)
  2. Aside from the fact that George doesn't want to? Probably some score issues and such (for branching anyways) but I think that's pretty minor if the previous issue didn't apply. Doesn't bother me, either way.
  3. I think a spacy gun like Shockwave can still made, so they could alter Megs accordingly. Or maybe make him an RPG or AT-4 or bazooka or something... Be it gun, tank, or bazooka, Megatron's robot form needs to match Optimus Prime... which kinda goes against gun anyway... and I do find it funny that gun-mode megs is kinda puny compared to Prime's "ion cannon" (especially since he's cheating by adding all the crap to puff himself up). Starscream would be cool. I'd say keep him an F-15 rather than make him an F-22 or whatever. F-15's are still out there after all and they didn't make Prime a new type of truck. I would like to see Decepticons (and Autobots!) in their original forms before coming to Earth. No TF line has done that yet, have they? I should probably start another thread, but this isn't a TF board.
  4. I like what Garoquel did the most. Maybe MW could make a deal Animeigo and actually fill these boxes with Animeigo DVDs? I know there are those out there who haven't gotten the Animeigo's yet... I've been tossing around. I voted for the M+ set as I don't want a gigantor 12 disc box... I'm thinking 1 x 9-disc box, 1 x 3-disc box (DYRL, FB2012, 20th Anniversary), 1 x 3-disc box (M+ OVA and movie), a 5 (?) DVD box for M-Zero, etc... But now that I think bout it I might be willing to buy it as a "travel" box or something... and fill it with the 20th anniversary or FB2012 discs (which I don't have yet).
  5. The problem with Megatron is if he matches Prime's robot mode, he's going to be oversized something recockulous as a toy gun, unless they make him a desert eagle or .44 mag or something... I kinda would like them to make Megs a tank (T80 or T90, M1A1, Leclerc, Leopard II, whatever)...
  6. This was hardly unexpected. While I would have expected some more tact out of their PR people, SOME fans need to realize the original forms of the movies are gone and they're NOT going to get them on their own release. Ever. They're gonna be stuck with bootlegs or old VHS or LD if they want that form. Rip that crap to DVD. Most fans will complain about it, but ARE going to get the set for the extras disc anyways. If they just said they're releasing the OT on DVD, the undeniable follow-up questions are going to be if it's SE or both versions, and when the original versions might be released so that DID need to be clarified. I already have the SE on DVD (HK rips of the laser discs, complete with DD and THX "Laserdisc" intros). But I'm willing to bet either myself or my girlfriend get the set for the specials disc. And I'm certainly holding out for a platinum encrusted "Ueber Edition" that will undoubtedly be released after Ep3.
  7. The 1/55's are undoubtedly alot sturdier than any Yamato (even the 1/48). They are hideous IMO, though. Yes, I've had my hands on reissues. For all the scorn they get, I think the MPCs are the best midpoint between the accurate sculpts of the Yamto and sturdiness/playability of the Bandai. They don't feel like they're gonna break and are far more posable than the Bandai while not quite matching the beauty and accuracy of the Yamato. If Toynami would pull their head out of their ass and half the MSRP, they could make alot more sales. Looking at my Hasbro 20th anniversary Optimus Prime, I kinda wish Bandai would put the same attention to detail for Macross. I know Bandai could match Takara/Hasbro and they'd likely be able to pump out enough volume to be able to beat Yamato on price while matching accuracy...
  8. Heh, I know what u mean. I'd certainly be embarassed if I showed up as Darth Vader and there was another one (POSER!). The other Fett's could at least change colors and pretend to be "other" Mandalorians.
  9. I think the stacks are most noticible in truck mode. I *DO* want longer stacks but am gonna look into customing something (maybe stacks from another 1:32 truck) if one can't obtain parts from Takara. This is ONE case where the Japanese version isn't worth $40 more bucks IMO. I can totally live with the "battle damage' (which seems more like weathering than anything else... if there was pitting and gouging, I might call it battle damage). Speaking of quality control, Yamato could take another cue from these guys... there's one hinge where Prime is in half, midway between the transformation... made me lament the backpack hinge Yamato did with the 1/48. This thing on the Hasbro Prime INSPIRES mucho confidence. Nice and thick die cast where the yamato backpack hinge is thin and plastic... To say nothing of the hands. I love this toy!
  10. Ok, got the Hasbro Alternators one (with black "ion cannon" ) at Walmart. Not bad at all! What I'm wondering is if Takara is willing to sell parts (namely smokestacks)... I'd happily perform surgery to replace these things... but they don't bug me that much. Yamato could take another lesson on hands, that's for sure!
  11. Yeah that's easy. It's not quite so easy with the 1/60 Hikaru or with the other 1/60 non FP VF-1...FP upgrades anyone?
  12. Hmm what else in this ground accessories set... Standing and different posed (maybe even minimally articulated - head on a tiny ball joint, movable shoulders, legs? ala Action Fleet but bigger) weapon racks... maybe one of them buggies. A Destroid or two. Ok ok, save the destroids for later release.
  13. While Yamato might scoff at the MPC, they could take note of its hands. They're way better than the 1/48's... Or at least look what Takara/Hasbro did with the MP-1. Those hands are better than the 1/48 hands, too...
  14. That's what I'm talking about, Roy. They need to put that thing on the Left Coast and I'd be there. Hell, Las Vegas would be a good spot IMO.
  15. Wow, I n ever had any trouble transforming it... even the first few times... just take your time and follow the pictures. Still my favorite valk after the Low-Viz.

    Yamato 1/60 Range

Ok, the incidents... maybe. Because of the complaining? That's just recockulous. Yamato has always been pretty tight lipped. Typical for a Japanese company.
  17. Well they better get on the ball. My Low-Viz want to replace their skeleton hands for gerwalk mode.
  18. I'd say E because they're too big. They're great display pieces but not as good for actually playing with IMO. I was tossing and turning my 1/60 Hikaru Super and it's the perfect size. 1/48 Super/Strike are humongous. That's good for some, but not too good to buzz around the house, dodging imaginary missiles and phantom Zentran.

    custom 1/48 CF + FP

Incredible work! I would so buy a CF that looked like that. Until then I'll stick with the Low-Viz.
  20. Well at least for the stormtroopers, stealth isn't exactly part of their arsenal. Overwhelming force and intense discipline... but not stealth.
  21. You said it, man. M2 and M7 > DYRL and SDF:M!
  22. I don't like the samurai style flight suits (DYRL, etc), but if they lost the shoulder pads, they'd be better. But yeah Zero flight suits all the way.
  23. Most likely not but stranger things have happened.

    1/60 GBP Armour, question

Yeah it'd be nice if it came with a TV Hikaru. But wouldn't surprise me to see the pilot from the Hikaru Super in there.
  25. I imagine Yamato would have made enough (maybe the minimum number) that they'd cut a profit after production (mostly packaging, etc)...
