When was the last time there was an official annoucement? We're left to speculate and assume the worst... if Yamato was more forthcoming, there would be less of a "negatude." Plus, haven't seen much actual "whining" though a rant or two, which are different enough to bear different titles.

Well said, Mad Dawg. Again, I'm not a big fan of the CF color scheme, but THIS is something that makes it worthwhile IMO! I WOULD buy a Yamato 1/48 like that, but won't ever expect to see that level of weathering OEM. And I'm way too cheap to buy a 1/48 to customize. Maybe I can find an open one on ebay or something... What color/type of paint did u use for the CF brown? Apologies if u already mentioned it, but I don't recall seeing it.

Heh, ok so the backward boost shots. Wonder how much it's gonna cost. Yeah 1/100 is puny... Exactly same reason I want everything in 1/60.
-
1:100? Hmm... disapointingly small but maybe it will appear bigger later... Why would a VF-1 need a stand for Gerwalk? Even on display, it stands fine, doesn't it?
-
Yeah, it's one of my favorite valks (right behind my Low-Viz). I got a good one with nice relatively firm hips. Hope they do a VF-X2 VF-22S with some very slight changes (folding landing gear IN the FP panels - I disagree with Graham's review... there's MORE space in the FP panels than on the normal leg covers). Maybe ratcheded hips would be cool... but I really want a movable head laser. Is that too much to ask? I'd also like them to get the thrust vectoring panels proportioned right. Doesn't quite look like the line art to me. YMMV.

Hell yeah. I'd love a Metal Siren most of all and a couple VF-2SS to keep him company. I'm not so big on the VF-2J or SNN. But yeah give me some of Feff's Gilgamesh armor, too. As well as Phalanx II, please.
-
Yeah I'd imagine it's a "complete" valkyrie (gunpod and missiles) with the armor additional, but it's possible such things could be lacking.
-
I'm hoping for green myself. But I can settle for purple... I'm still undecided about Milia red but almost certain I'll pass on a blue (Max).

In order: 1) Regult. At least 2 regular ones. Maybe one missile or scout. 2) Nos-Ger. Definately. 1 or 2 DYRL (though I really doubt we'll see any TV designs at all... maybe TV color scheme on DYRL design). I like my Nos-Ger and Q-Rau's dark olive green, if possible. 3) Destroid Phalanx (really I want a Macross II Phalanx II, but I can live with the #1). 4) Destroid Tomahawk 5) Glaug. Just one, but yeah it's on my list. 6) Destroid Spartan 7) Gnerl fighter pod.

Yeah but there's hardly any piece of detail on the 1/48 that coudln't be added to a new version of the 1/60. Everything from radome to the catapult to the telescoping feet, to airbrake. There simply has to be some way to justify the enormous cost increase of the 1/48 beyond much more plastic (& far less diecast) and cardboard.
-
Um, how bout you don't click on it, yeah? I know I've seen enough posts wanting styrofoam and 80s style boxes (yuck!). The velcro makes for nice display, I suppose... though I woudln't know (I'm an opener).
-
Didn't this happen before?
-
Well they've all practically been done anyways. Hopefully Yamato can concentrate on a 1/60 Regult and pump out its variants.
-
Dont' forget about the backpack hinge. 1/48 is undoubtedly superior in almost every category except one. Endurance. You'd have to try to break a 1/60s backpack off. It's not quite so hard with a 1/48s...
-
I think a TV variant is possible but not very likely. Changes are too minimal. That COULD have been a good opportunity to do instead of the re-release DYRL Focker, they should have done a TV focker... maybe have included both Hikaru and Roy tv pilots. Oh well.
-
Well they're doing it the wrong way. Going for Bumblebee would a perfect way to make a better image. At least he's not a decepticon named "Kubelwagen" But the Mini would be a good substitute. If Hasbro/Takara can get them to do the license.
-
might as well buy all the robotech masterpiece collection whiel your at it. Hah! Whatever. Good one! How do you like paying more for less available software? Macs are ok but too much of a niche market especially for games. And their hardware is too expensive. Microsloth is just the favorite whipping boy because they're the biggest. Before it was IBM who got the same scorn from the 3LiT3 h4x0R$. Tomorrow, it'll be someone else.

Wow, I was expecting a darker blue like the stripe from Max's DYRL -1A not that baby blue... hope that's not final...

Seen a few episodes. Don't like how they had to get all PC by having the woman, for ex. Plus it's irritating that the Kurt Russel's character had to be the exact same one played by Richard Dean Anderson. Really, couldn't it have just been a different military guy? Same thing with the nerdy scientist guy (James Spader in the movie). I like how they expanded the... Goauld (or however it's spelled) and a little bit of the greys. But along the same PC vein, the group has worse than normal pseudo-military "discipline" (and lack there-of) typicial to tv and movies. Oh well.

I've always been more partial the 1/60 line. Can put a 1/60 squadron in the place where a mere 1/48 team is gonna go. And cost is even more imabalanced. Can get 2 Super Valkryies in 1/60 for the price of a single 1/48 Super Valk. 1/48's are great for trophy pieces but too big and expensive to be as good of an "army builder." I still wish Yamato would do the VF-1 in 1/72 so it could be in scale with my M+ and VF-X2 valks.
-
Good work on the paint job! Wow, that's pretty chunky...
-
Damn! I have successfully resisted the 1/60s (and I'm a 1/60 fan!) and REALLY want these 1/48s but that's fricken expensive!
-
David sucks. He's making it all up! jk. He is one of the most knowledgable jet/plane people I've ever met on a message board. Think he's said he has a lot of (expensive) books... I was thinking he was some grizzled air-force pilot veteran but apparently he's a young guy who's just really into jets.

Looks like 1/60 will be the "one" scale. Which I'm happy bout. 1/72 could be another alternative. Don't remember what the speculation said about the Zero toys, but hopefully 1/60. 1/72 wouldn't break my heart, either. But looks like 1/60 for VF-1. Next enemy (Q-rau) at 1/60. And hopefully 1/60 M+ (and VF-X2) to follow. EDIT: Oh yeah, whatever did happen to all those pics from the avatar? There was the one that someone was using as a Max avatar and there was the Milia one where the custom title was something like "natural green" or something along those lines. Are the old pages ever going back up (or have they done so and I missed it?)? Or has someone saved those on their comp? PM me, if so.
