1. Oh man, dont remind me about that project. I was willing to fork out some big bucks for that kit. I am hoping that!
2. Blackout is great looking. He is almost a shellformer though. I prefer transformers cybertron EVAC more complicated transformation. I will definatly buy Blackout though. Whats up with these faces/heads they are putting on the decepticons?
3. Optimus looks great. I can not figure out how he transforms into a truck, but he looks good in his bot mode. Also, they have megs and another version of optimus in protoype. They both look good too. I was surprised how megs looked. I actually like it.
4. Im not impressed with megatrons design either. IIRC, this is the first movie in a series. Maybe megatron will evolve once he has been on earth for some time. Maybe they have a suprise for us and megatron will be better by the end of this movie. I just hope they make megatron cunning, and not some stupid ohf(sp). Megs evolved throughout the beast wars series and ended up a giant head on beast machines.
5. The movie looks interesting in its own right if you do not try and relate to TF-G1. Ill go watch it in the movies because the nerd in me tells me too. My only dissappiontment is some of the CGI looks CGI. I was hoping they would step that up. My only fears are that they will turn this into a love story, or this movie will end up like recent Godzilla movie. NOOOOOOOOO! So far I like the scene with the CH-53 Helicopter. The military commander "we will kill you". Then the chopper transforms and walks right through the commanders threat and blows everthing up. Now thats a decepticon! Was that Megatron coming out of the swimming pool? It would have been great if he stepped on that little girl like an ant. Maybe not.
6. WOW! I would have been all over that auction. Im in the same boat with everyone else. All the new stuff is killing my bank account.
7. I have the same fear for the plot too. Too many big name actors, might be getting to much screen time. I prefer just to see the robots and let the humans have limited screen time. Somewhat like the cartoon. But it may be cheaper and simpler to have less robot action, so they will try to make the movie into a love story is what Im afraid of.
8. Yes, they made the 1/100 bootlegs in CF colors. But you being crazy is still debatable. J/K
9. this soooooo brings back memories. Was the toy store karls toys and hobbies? I remember that store in the cerritos mall. Had all the import toys like godaikins, takatokus, ect......Totally awesome store. My heart would race when my mom said we were going to the cerritos mall. Damn, Im started to get excited now just thinking about it. EEEEEEEEE!
10. did the mystery valk look like this?
11. Transformers with hot underage looking chics. What a concept. Where can I get one? awe man, you guys know sex sells. I can't think of anything here in the U.S. that does not have a half naked chic in the pictures. Even R/C cars havel half naked chics in there advertisements. I mean, R/C cars people And anything else you can think of. Takaratomy, is thinking(like I know), slow sales, add naked chics to product. Sales go up. If sales bomb, then they have to go on clearance and it becomes a buying oportunity for me. The chic doesnt bother me so much, but I dislike the pink surfboard. They should have used a different color. It does not look good with a red truck. This move to add chics to toys makes complete sense. Just go to a convention. Observe the droves of manboys gawking at hot underage looking cosplayers. That equals sales as far as takaratomi is concerned. Think about this. If transformers were to really come down to earth in a real life situation. Who would they hang out with? Us or girls gone wild. I think the latter! Optimus aint going to be doing construction work. Hes genna be pulling jet skis on his way to the beach.
12. Just to be clear. Im not a hater, I have nothing against toynami. I actually like most of there stuff(if the price is good), unlike most people in these forums. It can say robotech, macross, whatever on the boxes, I just like toys. I like my MPC alphas. There not perfect, but I like them. Im just think if Im going to spend $20 on the 1/100, I might as well fork out another $10-$15 and get a Yamato 1/60 or a Bandai 1/55. The $20 price I guess in not too unreasonable, but by the time you buy the accessory set, youll be paying about $40 with all expenses considered, for a 1/100. Then if you want to get the complete collection.....you see where Im going. Ill opt more for quality than quantity. If I had only $150 to spend and wanted a sophisticated collection, then I would get (1) 1/48. If I wanted a fun collection, then I would buy multiple 1/100 over the 1/48. For me personally, I will have the best of both worlds and just buy everything I can. Im not sure about the toynami market in Utah, but here in So. Cal. there are toynami products by the thousands. I still find stuff from way back in 2002 sitting in the stores getting all dusty. Not mainstream stores, more like hole in the wall stores. I even find people selling stuff by the case at the swap meets. Like the SD keychains and figures.
13. Im with EXO and Haterist on this topic. I simply do not think these are worth $20. Im not saying that they are bad toys. They are nice and I like them, just not worth the full price(+ shipping), knowing that they will go on sale in the near future. I plan on getting all of them too, but when they are cheaper. I would rather have toynami get rid of the boxes and lower the price of the toy. I think we are so used to ultra high prices for valkyries that anything for for $20 seems like a good deal and will overlook the fact that it may not even be worth it. If its worth it to you personally, then thats all that should matter. Im not one sided, I think yamatos are overpriced also.
14. 421936 They actually had that robot for sale on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Now I know what show that belongs too.
15. Well, compared to just about every transformer ever...he is pretty "uber realistic." The alternators are the only thing I can think of where someone who didn't know better might be fooled into not knowing it was a robot. I don't understand some people here, but that Starscream is hands down the best looking transformer I've ever seen. If we had stuff like this when I was young, I would have died of a stroke. 422093 Totally! Starscream is awesome, hands down.
16. Interesting thread. Heres me inspecting a blue legioss I had just bought. Typical collection room mess in the background.
17. very nice. As soon as I forget about chunky monkeys, somebody has to do something to get me motivated again. Now Im going to be up all night trying to figure out how to mod my 1/55.
18. IF you don't work here or have official business don't even try to just saunter onto base to try and take some pretty pictures. Your best bet would be to get someone who works on base (which is probably most of cal city) to get you in and out, but if you are caught someplace you are not suppossed to be, especially with a camera, some very nice gentlemen in BDUs with M-16s will give you a very nice introduction to the tarmac. 420048 Yeah, I figures so much. I remember going to the airshow last year and they were pretty strict. They didn't let me take sh*t onto the airfield. THey might have some transformer stuff going on off base. Maybe I can mosey on down to hollywood and see if they are filming anything over there.
19. Ha ha ha! Chowser, I feel your pain. I have stuff I bought off ebay and here 7 years ago that I still have not even opened the brown box it was shipped to me in. Its like Christmas everytime I go in my garage, my attic, uder my bed, in my closet, or anywhere else I can cram stuff. I should probably swear off toys too. At least for a few years. Until I get some of that sq. footage in my house back into living space instead of storage space.
20. A valk is a jet fighter that turns into a robot. Because vehicle mode is based on a real vehicle so that mode should be the most accurate. The jet fighter mode came first, then they made it transformable to fight the enemy. They didn't have giant robots that needed to transform into jets for any reason. You can just make giant robots that fly like Mazinger Z, tetsujin, ect.........really no need to make a robot become a jet. If you say that you need a robot thats fast as a jet, then you can just put fixed wings on the robot and make it sleek as possible with maybe some minor transformation. No need to completely transform into a jet, especially an F-14. I voted for balance. It needs to look cool in all modes.
21. hey Knight26, how hard is it for a civi to get on base. Im in Cal. City. It would be awesome if I could get some pictures of the set if they go to film at Edwards.
22. hmmmmm....I wonder how high this is genna go. Ill have to keep my eye(get it) on it. Thanks for posting.
23. After seeing the side by side pics of the new and old, I like the first style better, the second rendition is really nice too, just less SS acurate. I wish I could get both styles. Either way, Im buying this bad boy. Im with Eugimon on this, Im not expecting to much cartoon accuracy really. Its great looking and enough like SS to make most happy. If you can look at those pictures and not tell that its SS, even with out the colors, then you need your eyes checked.
24. well at least we know that Prime's voice won't suck. The rest is yet to be determined. Hopefully when this movie comes out we are all pleasantly suprised.
