  1. I think for the TV series it's in the center, and for DYRL, it's the leg (I believe folks with differing ideas did DYRL).
  2. Just do a wash over the parts and it should hide any overhangs just fine.
  3. I think by the time of M+, Myung and Isamu were no longer the people they had been all those years ago when the incident with Guld happened. She had her world, Isamu had his, and they probably remained friends but chose to go their separate ways. Not to mention the pain of losing Guld would have made things just hurt too much for them. I make this comment in light of my previous suggestion that "she probably divorced his sorry ass", with the realization that there was now probably too much that happened between them, and they were different now in their experiences. Eden will always be "that place where the contest happened" for Isamu, while it would have its' own bad memories for Myung. Earth would probably remind them both of Guld's death, so my opinion is that Myung would either go back to music and either perform herself, or manage another singer and 'take her/him under her wing". Isamu being a space trucker...well, the fleets would probably need shipments as would the colonies. JMO, for what it's worth...
  4. Right? Some really awesome work from the gang here! Next up for my work: going to be building a bunch of small equipment for the Macross Factory. Welders, acetylene tanks, small wheeled generators, cutting torches... ... and a few soda machines! Coke, Pepsi...and Petite Cola! I just have to find some 1/72 scale figures that can go in the factory (looking pretty scarce), and as usual, my local hobby shop doesn't sell them. (pengbuzz wonders if he can find one of Misa chasing Hikaru across the factory floor with a pipe wrench, ready to brain him? )
  5. Hey... all our work looks bad when we're right in the middle of it. Just consider yours "in progress", and don't worry about how it looks at the moment! I'm pretty sure the rest of the gang here will agree with me.
  6. Oh, my PC has enough issues already without that. I need to reinstall my programs and OS, but I got none of the original disks and license numbers from the shop who sold me it. in 2011. (yup, my machine is ancient...serves me right, neophyte that I am; at least it still works. One day, I'd like to build my own if I can ever get money that doesn't need to go to bills). Anyways: I had driver issues with my GPU a while ago (1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 EVGA*), and kept getting screen blackouts and "Driver stopped responding and has recovered " messages. I tried updating the drivers and redoing them, all to no avail. Finally, I just rolled it back to the original driver it came with and left it. *yup...any cheaper and it would be an etch-a-sketch!
  7. Well, there's two minutes and fifteen seconds of my life that I won't get back... No wonder Starfleet didn't send anyone to help the Romulans when their world detonated; a crew like that would only have made things worse.
  8. Ah yes...I had the red and white-molded Leader-1 version (apparently they also had a grey-molded kit as well). Wish I could find it now, as while I don't exactly like MOSPEADA, I kinda liked the Armo-fighter (but the examples of either Imai or Monogram are hideously expensive last I looked). Trying to imagine Ray doing the whole "greetings" scene from Top Gun, with Stig doing the "Is this your idea of fun, Ray?"
  9. Almost spit Pepsiâ„¢ all over my monitor reading that!
  10. First rule with cats: "If it fits, i sits!" lol Good job on the cap gun! looking forward to seeing that mounted! And uh yeah... those guys definitely need "surgery"...
  11. That would work, as well as taking a black pen/ pencil and doing in some smaller panel lines over the surface.
  12. What you might want to try is drybrushing the base with a dark grey paint (drybrush: dip brush into paint, brush it onto paper towel until nearly gone and then brush the remaining paint on the model as a weathering effect). You can build this up to make the base look better and bring out the detail.
  13. Okay, last shots for the Macross Factory in 1/72: The buggy is the last of he vehicles; aside from maybe some more figures and some human-scale equipment (such as welders, air tank carts, coffee cups, etc), I think this is it for this one! (unless I get another idea, like "sumo" armor for the 1J... )
  14. Actually Peter.... you're doing an awesome job!!! Finding parts that resemble what you're looking for and using household materials is the number one skill when it comes to kitbashing/ scratchbuilding. (Little secret for ya: the arm launchers on my Strike VF-1S were wooden yard stakes in a previous life!) Don't worry about that panel line that "isn't straight": with the amount of abuse the Macross likely took when it made the trip home, it will make it look like the ship took a dent there. If it bothers you, just sand it a little and repaint it with black primer before you go on to the color coats. Please keep going with this; I'd like to see what you do with it!
  15. You did an awesome job on the VF-1S super! Yeah, the other one is an Arii; i recognize the overly-fat nosecone! lol I also have eye issues, and found head magnifiers that amplify things even further; maybe that can help you out if you need it.
  16. Digital illustration (Star Trek): Star Wars: I also do some writing, other modelbuilding and figuremaking (will post later so I don't eat up bandwidth here!)
  17. Well, aside from my Macross endeavors I also do the following: Drawing/ painting:
  18. LOL! This time around, it didn't need it!
  19. Well...it's been bugging me for a while now, but I decided today to make the final original counterpart of my factory diorama: the transport buggy: I got an old pilot figure from a busted P-51 Mustang in 1/72, and used a spare seat from the failed Bandai VF-1S kit I had. I then took some anonymous spare parts (including some 1/72 landing gear wheel spares), some scrap styrene, and a bit of glue and paint. I'll try to get some pics of it in the display tomorrow, when the light's better. Cheers folks! (not that I'm British by any means! )
  20. If I had to guess, the angle's a bit off but it mostly looks like the top angled section of the port side, just before the deck becomes completely flat.
  21. Hey...all you need to do is just detail the stand with some panels and paint it in varying shades of gunmetal/ gray. They could be skimming the surface of an ARMD on their way to a sortie. Just a few square pieces of plastic and some paint and you'd be good to go!
  22. If you want to see "butchered", check this build out! lol :
  23. Would that make the VF-31 a RAID array? (or perhaps more like an air RAID array? )
