  1. Looking forward to seeing this all together.
  2. I didn't: I won 20 bucks on a bet I made with one of my friends several years back! Gonna sink that into a new model!
  3. Small update: After going for some time without a printer now, my wife has finally had enough! We went online and researched some printers, and finally decided on a Canon PIXMA MG2522 color printer. Looked good (read the reviews on Amazon and a few other places), so we purchased it online and will pick it up at the store tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to print decals again...we'll see.
  4. Nice project to look forward to; reminds me of the 1:200 Round 2 version I did from their "man in space" series: They had included a replica of the original fold-out cardboard "gantry"; well... a Pengbuzz needs more than just "fold out". Someday I'll finish this one... Update 1: Got some more work done on the Tomcat's nose; Canopy seems to have taken pretty cleanly; just need to fix a couple of small issues. I'll also glue the pitot tubes on when the primes is dry enough to not smudge off the plane (Rustoleum 2X takes 5-7 days to bond properly to plastic). Update 2: First colors on the Refit E! It needs a lot of touch-up (I never can keep white clean, even with gloves!). But she's finally underway, and over the next week or so, I'll refine her even further. Stay tuned...
  5. Agreed. I think folks should celebrate while there's still something to celebrate. With all the craziness and grief that has taken place the last year and a half, "take yer victories where you can get them". And this one was almost on a silver platter.
  6. You're in Detroit? For some odd reason, i thought you were in Australia! lol
  7. Hey, at least you lucked out on the damage to the paint! As for the weathering: they basically don't get a whole lot of dirt per se, but i would so a very light wash just to bring out the details, then some light drybrushing.
  8. I never saw it where I am (Northeast US) in any shop (even the ones that imported Anime models). I finally got to work with the Hasegawa ones when a friend of mine here sent me a couple as a gift.
  9. Or perhaps some of Hasegawa;s Macross stuff as well? I'd like o find a TV version Storm Attacker SDF-1. Hey, I'd be down for some Angel Voice or Totsugeki Love Heart! Power to the dream!
  10. On another note, I'm hoping this means at some point, we could see valks in the US that wouldn't break one's wallet.
  11. Definitely; I would dearly love to see some stuff in the stores like it used to be back in the 80's and early 90's.
  12. Translation from DeepL Translate: "Long-standing, exclusive worldwide license outside of Japan for Harmony Gold to use 41 Macross characters and mecha in the Robotech television series and related merchandising. The two companies will now work together to develop future Macross and Robotech projects for the benefit of both series. Kamon Onishi, President of Vicwest: "We are very pleased to be working with Robotech. The story is set against the backdrop of a diva's song, and is characterized by the Valkyrie, a realistic transforming mecha in the galaxy, and the love triangle between the diva and the pilot. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to HG Chairman Frank Agrama for his courageous decision to bring the Macross series, which has been and will continue to be based on this concept, to the people of the world in its 40th anniversary year. Frank Aglama, Chairman of Harmony Gold USA Frank Aglama, Chairman of Harmony Gold USA: "This is an unparalleled historic moment for both Harmony Gold and Vic West, and for the entire animation industry. It is also an amazing moment for Robotech and Macross fans around the world. I would like to thank my friend Kamon Onishi, President of BicWest, for his efforts in helping us reach this long awaited resolution that will protect both series and create a better tomorrow for both companies." 13. Yeah...explodium, young kids and skewered diplomatic relations with angry alien races is not a good recipe by any standard. When Gene Roddenberry came up with "to boldly go where no man has gone before", I don't think he was intending that for the directions Viacom/CBS ended up taking.
  14. Considering that they have yet to produce an actual full season of episodes in one season (15 for Season 1, 14 for Season 2, when a season is normally 22 episodes), continue to lose money while selling everything but the kitchen sink, and have a first officer who would be most effective for Starfleet if she joined the enemy side, about pretty good so far.
  15. True. I wonder if that reduces the value of collectibles? *replicates ton of Macross merch* They're grasping at straws, to say the least. At the start they make these declarations, only to find that they've painted themselves into a corner with their own words and are forced to try every cheap trick imaginable to keep their warp-powered dumpster fire from going out. Too bad Picard couldn't have blown up the Enterprise during the Battle of the Bassen Rift. A far better fate than this series, to be sure...
