    So for Ryu Hayabusa, the Kaiyodo Online exclusive is just an extra 'Blade of the Archfiend'. https://www.kyd-store.jp/c/genre/amazing-yamaguchi_g_r/nr052 So far, very little of the usual JP stores are carrying this. Amiami is offering the normal version (no PO discount!), whereas Hobby-Genki is offering the online exclusive.

    I'm now only just thinking that the HG 1/100 line will stop at Macross 7 valks lol. As per the interview article, the HG line got good responses and I think it is because fans accepted that's the only solution to get anime accuracy on all modes. I doubt fans will accept HG-like partsforming for the later CG-designed valks like Zero or Delta, unless they come out with interpreted sculpt that's different enough to justify partsforming and at the same time pleasing to the eye - sculpt that's something like the recent Plamax 1/72 VF-1 Batttroid. Entirely agree with these sentiments.

    Nice! So far, the only complaint is Bandai really missing the opportunity to make the Ghost independent with landing gears, articulated canards & sensor eye. They already did 90% of the work, just need that extra 10%. Times like these just make one appreciate Yamato's more & more. I would agree. It'll look swoopy and have presence in pics, but will be quite limiting during play.

    Yes rainbow canopy & white landing gears haha. I do intend to get the Yammie VT-1. Usually when a DX is announced, the corresponding Yammie will drop in price. But somehow, this hasn't started happening yet for the Yammie - perhaps gotta wait till when the DX is actually released.

    I too, really like the idea of combining both YF-23 & the Q-Rau and resulting in a really cool hybrid of a YF-21. Yet the YF-21 stands out as an anomaly among Kawamori's designs, as it does seem to have the most amount of anime magic / proportion shifting among the various VFs. The other Plus & Mac7 VFs also have quite a bit, but don't seem to be up to the degree the YF-21 has. I think Kawamori was also very much enamored by the YF-23 + Q-Rau idea, tried his hardest to make it work, but in a not so charitable interpretation he succumbed to anime magic in the end and cheated.

    One aspect Bandai has improved in recent memory (ie past couple years or so), is that they now supply plenty of pics when soliciting orders and they always put Battroid in various cool poses. For this VF-4 reissue I was looking forward to discovering what poses Bandai put it in, seeing that this VF has one of the most awkward Battroid sculpt, but there aren't many and there's only a lone Battroid pic in a dynamic pose..

    That's a really great deal for a loose VT-1. I don't have a Yammie VT-1, so now I'm curious what Yamato did to handle the orange. Did they manage to match the painted & molded plastic nicely, or was all the orange painted?

    As I'm typing this, I'm looking at my HMR VT-1 and actually forgot about this issue until now. The color difference is there, but as with most color differences it is usually only noticeable (or noticeable to the point of being bothersome) under bright or fluorescent white lighting. I intentionally use warm white on my displays to mask these issues, and also the little yellowings on some of the pieces.

    I'm relooking at the blister packaging again, and it's great Bandai managed to squeeze the Ghost in there without increasing the packaging size from previous two VF-0s. But definitely need lots of care when opening, parts will definitely fly out since everything so tightly packed together.

    Will you be getting Hiya’s? I’m on the fence. I thought Yamato’s above would suffice of her in that outfit, but on having it I’m reluctant to break her out of packaging seeing that it has been preserved (although discolored) for long lol.

    There we go.. Thanks for sharing @Zeliard It's a pretty straightforward way to mount the pylons, and although not perfectly flush to the wing surface as what Hasegawa intended (due to the existing hardpoints on the DX), they look good enough to my eyes. Also it's a non-destructive method to the valk, and so the modded missiles can be mounted to any DX VF-1. I'm thinking, in place of the 2mm rods, perhaps model kit runners could be used as well..

    Yamato Ghost in the Shell Motoko Kusanagi & Batou. It’s fun to acquire old figures, sometimes they have their charm & if they are considered outdated it means they can be picked up quite cheaply. This pair is from back when Yamato also made figures.

    Yeah she is.. this wasn't my first choice, as I originally wanted the other sculpt where she's sitting on a high stool. But luck would have it she was out of stock then, so I got this instead and quite glad I did after opening. Prize figures have come quite a way now..
