Nice pics! And great to hear posing is not an issue for this toy. So far a lot of Battroid pics of it look better than previous ones that have come out - whether by Bandai or the HJ Web features.
-
So it sounds like Yamcadia v2 still has the best tolerances & overall engineering... and its turning sweet 16 this year.
-
Yamato says it is Roy's, but I just never considered it to be his.. always treated the scheme to be an un-named commander's unit.

My copy is still at HLJ PW. I wonder if I should request them to open & inspect before shipping to me..

Somehow, this is one of best looking Battroid pic so far as per article. But maddeningly, all the Battroid pics are taken whilst hung on the stand.

It’s annoying that valks without spare head lasers are the one that tends to break.

Jada Toys 1/12 red Chun Li. Don’t know why I continue to be impressed by the packaging, which mimics an arcade cabinet. I’m still reluctant to unbox these figures lol. I hope Jada continues to release Player 2 colours.- 681 replies

Hopefully the problem is not widespread. Someone already have their’s broken out of box. Edit: Another report of broken head laser.
-
That locking pin thing sounds like something that could absolutely be engineered out. Thematically it’s like using a rubber band to hold a box & lid together. It’s probably the most un-Macross transformation step in Macross toy history.
-
Yup the wheels mis-transformed. They are supposed to rotate 180. Coincidentally, rotating stuff 180 seems to be the theme of this valk lol.

Great to hear. I hope HLJ charges me soon too, whilst the exchange rate is still nice for the day.

Look forward to your impressions.

Well I haven't bought any TF merch yet. Still waffling on the Figma Fire Leos, but I finally have the Figma Cerberus & Albatross on the way only because they were still on heavy discount from MSRP. But congrats again on the RVR.. so many other examples that have popped up before always had some missing pieces. I like the colors of this Psylocke.. but her leg is impossible long lol.- 681 replies

Cool purchase. Was it from Mandarake? I actually been watching one there for weeks, & surprised no one bought it for so long despite its rather good price. Always loved the fast paced gameplay & banging soundtrack of Thunder Force series, & TF5 was the very last one I played on the Saturn. So much nostalgia..- 681 replies

This does look pretty cool, and the brakes actually have a strut to hold it this time.
-
Haha I do hope the rotation mechanism is beyond just a ball joint, but it does look like just a simple ball joint.
-
Even with the beefier legs, it may not stand up much against that massive backpack for dynamic poses, as the feet is still relatively small compared to other valks. The whole ankle also has to rotate 180 degrees for transformation, and I just hope that joint won't easily become loose after couple transformations. I feel a lot is riding on that ankle & feet design, so am cautiously optimistic Bandai has engineered robustness into that.
-
That lock-pin is also another surprising bit. This is turning into more HMR than a Chogokin lol. Also, I hope those nozzle flaps stay on securely once installed, otherwise we gonna see quite a few ones with missing flaps down the road. Meanwhile, the packaging:
-
So, a separate brace is needed to stabilize that huge backpack against the lower back in Battroid. So far, there are 3 partsforming bits: 1. The backpack brace mentioned. 2. The cockpit canopy & pilot seat. 3. The guns. 4. Backpack lock-pin. On side note, I'm also quite surprised the fixed posed hands are the same size as the transformable ones lol. We so used to fixed posed ones being bigger.

Nice catch.. Now when I look back at the VF-1J pics by TZ, all of them shows that thick, lower elbow forearm joint being movable. Which meant, TZ really made it triple-jointed at that time lol. A few more showing the same joint: Then I look at the more recent pics of the VF-1S TZ put out, that joint seems to have been disabled. Perhaps they decided to glue it after all.

Wearing briefs over the pants are cool superhero fashion again?

This is not bad. I don't specifically go for genres; I listen to all kinds of stuff and its always a combination of what pops up through my feeds & many of which I get through this thread.
