  1. you have it already, jvm? i haven't even paid for mine on ny yet lol!
  2. there are some on yahoo japan's auctions for about 250-280. i'm testing the waters with buyee

awesome pics, thanks! a showcase display really catches attention and illustrates what a potential buyer could achieve! maybe i'm old-fashioned but, seeing something in 3d, maybe even inspecting it in person is much more appealing to me than looking at product photos, even ones that are at par with saburo's pics. yeah, and prices! even a rough estimate of the range would be nice to know at this point. i'm not even sure if i want to throw money at another set of toys in a different scale... i'm not sure but i'm guessing that they're the old arii 1/100 model kits?
  4. i only watched the anime for yakitate, and yeah, 'weird' is definitely the word for the latter part of the series. loved the 'baking tricks and tips' though. wonder if they're real-world accurate? don't set your expectations too high for oishinbo. i found the pacing to be painfully slow at points, and i grew up in the 80s so i think i would have more tolerance for that.
  5. thanks for the link! r2 as c3po's 'fist' looks frighteningly 'deviant'...
  6. thanks for the pics! i passed on this line of mechs because of the tiny feet (what is that a size 3?)
  7. lol yeah, i guess i'm weird that way. i prefer to think of the sinanju as the successor to char's zaku for full frontal (i always add 'nudity' to this in my head when i say/type it XD). i'm the same way about keeping everything in the same scale. the neo zeong was a tough one to pass on. i think that you'll find it easier to work with mgs, david. detail- (and decal-) wise, the ver ka ones are probably the most similar to rgs. the older ones like the 1.0 zakus, are just a step above hgs, maybe even just half a step lol. funny story about your friend, i have one just like him. good intentions hamstringed by a narrow view of value considerations how do you guys post pics here using a phone? lol i superglued the part that i broke on the mg norn. it's the tiny connector to the hinge piece on the back of the armor piece of the left front waist, the part that swivels up and outward when you transform it to destroy mode. worked fine when i connected it to the hinge piece (short gray connector) but, when i snapped the hinge piece onto the 'main/base' piece, it broke again. so i superglued it again. twice. what is it again when you expect different results from the same action/process? hahaha
  8. Great WIP pics, thanks for posting guys! I managed to break a piece on my norn... Harumph
  9. Thanks, joppewo! I was eyeing that too. I think I'll pass though, not really a fan of the ms
  10. Not much real cooking from what I've seen (does the one pot dish even count?). Lol yeah, mostly exaggerated reactions (much like yakitate). Oishinbo is the og manga for cooking, with some OVAs too I think. Tanpopo is one of the classic live action movies on food (mostly ramen). I thought that yakitate was done! I'll check out the manga again
  11. Agree with your pov, jenius. I was thinking the same thing. I don't want to be stuck with the equivalent of a v1 Yammie VF-1 down the road. F mode is the real draw for me with this.
  12. im guessing that's the torn iscandarian dress from the escape episode... =)
  13. I think I'll wait for the next reveal to think about it some more
  14. That would rock! Especially if it had moving flaps, photo etched details, articulated pilots...........
  15. Thanks for the tip; I liked the first 3 episodes of ggg. Did they make an anime out of addicted to curry? Toriko's funny but the cooking aspect is almost an afterthought
  16. Where are the regults and glaugs?!! XD
  17. Thanks for the review Garyboy! Good luck with the wife! Your collection's really full of interesting pieces! On a side note, the cm's roy has a spacesuit. The would've rocked in the same scale as the popbox one!
  18. This thread is so informative! Thanks everyone! Love the pics! I think that some of these erasers (or maybe bootlegs) were handed out as kids' meals toys at fast food joints in the Philippines when I was growing up.
  19. Thanks for posting the pics, garyboy! Great quality pieces, though I'm not a fan of the hair sculpt for Hikaru. The hair in Noel's pic was spot on I think. Amazing craftsmanship on the uniforms!
  20. Thanks jvm! That Roy dyrl flight suit in Noel's pic looks really good (even if it's a lighter shade of blue lol). Wonder if cospa or some other company ever made a 1:1 costume?
  21. I think it's a speculation game on which valks Arcadia's going to remake. I'm guessing that in terms of VF-1s, the max and kakizaki are next, possibly with super/strike parts sets in between. That last bit may just be wishful thinking on my part though lol. I wouldn't mind a curveball like a glaug or regult (+variants)!
  22. Thanks for the info and cool pic, Noel! Garyboy, I have a feeling that you're going to hunt down the whole set!
  23. Hahaha! I kinda know what you mean. I opted to wait for Arcadia vf-1 releases though, rather than hunt down Yamato v2s. Well, except for what I consider must haves - lovis Roy, cavalier, vt-1, vf-1d. I consider my frontier and Yamato zero valks more or less complete already. I don't like the yf-25 and cf vf-25 so I'm not counting those hehehe. Looking forward to the up and coming POs! Sharpnel has an Ivanov for sale here, not sure if it's still available. There was also a really cool minmay guard 1/48 custom iirc on another for sale thread.
