Wow! It might actually be more economical to have a similar display case fabricated? -
Must've been a few cancellations good for you!
-
thanks, Hik! I'll check it out. not sure if it's something that i'm willing to tackle yet either lol weathering looks good! that big orange section looks like it's asking for some bullet holes/heat axe slashes! XD i'm still kinda undecided on whether i want to build kits that look like they're fresh from the production line, or ones that have seen combat.

multiple storage units of toys? wow! i hope he finds another vf-4 that he wants to offload! XD i'm also chasing down angelbirds... -
good catch, mike! i hadn't noticed that the one the right does cross the panel line! that makes the one on the left the 'correct' one!

hahaha thanks, Bobby! it's like you have these pics in your bag of holding! XD i really like the 'glass floor' treatment for the cockpit! the wings look like the vf-25 and the yf-29 fused together! yeah, this would be a cool toy to have!
-
hmm... mine's still in the box. lol for the sake of discussion, though, which one would be the 'correct' placement? i think i like the one on the left better
-
thanks, mike! i guess my fall back would be spray cans if hand painting isn't recommended. the wife piped in earlier and she said i should look into installing leds on the kits too. XD

thanks for the tip! I have 3 misb and now I'm thinking that it may be necessary to bring them out and loosen those screws... Any tutorial vids?

My google-fu's a bit off today and I don't remember what that valk looks like. Is it the one that they use to take the news footage?

I've built a few kits over the last year, but I didn't attach any stickers/decals, panel line or paint any of them. I've picked up panel lining tips from you guys and I will be testing those out on action bases. I would also like to paint and maybe do some weathering. Any thoughts on hand-painting vs spray painting (can or airbrush)? I'm leaning more towards hand-painting to minimize the required investment.

Thanks, Hik! I got it from Traviss at genteikits. Thankfully it's on the back of the piece and won't be visible (I think I'll just keep it in destroy mode). I'll also swap it out with the regular banshee that I also have since I consider this final battle version more valuable

Reeks of false advertising, doesn't it? Or misrepresentation? Like, you'd have to be high to think that the toys has a substantial amount of metal in it once you have it in hand

Looks like it worked! Thanks again Hik! Forgot to type this earlier: I think that the Sinanju is what the Sazabi would look like after it goes through the biggest loser treatment hehehe

No prob, David! Trying Hik's full site then more reply options tip now. Will see if the pic gets displayed once attached. Pretty painless process: hit choose file, allow access to the camera/photos, choose existing or take pic, hit attach this file, go! I attached the pic of the piece I was describing

Thanks for the tip, mike! I hardly use my laptop anymore though. Phone/tablet 99% of the time. David, who are you gonna pm? Can we make it a group pm? Thanks, Hik! I'll try that! =)

what was the one that you start with in the game? the stormcrow? that was my favorite hehehe. i also liked saying 'eridani lighthorse' just for the heck of it. XD whoever it is, i suspect that if the two collections are brought together, we can do a fold jump! sweet pics, MoM! looking forward to the sdf lineup! arcadia, hurry up and make these valks, all of them!!!!!!

can replace the glass cockpit of VF1 V2 yamato?
McFly!! replied to master of macross's topic in Toys
hmm... wonder if one of the modelers has a painting trick to replicate the effect? maybe an oil-based solution? -
well, for this, at least. i think only the vf-4 looks better in f-mode. just my personal preference, of course. oh hellz yeah! those 2 f-mode pics from bobby (thanks, man!) really stirred it up for me! i also agree with bobby that a smoke/charcoal canopy would put this over the top! as others have mentioned, those skinny legs are a bit of an issue. i'm willing to overlook that if and only if f-mode looks close enough to the pic that bobby posted and the canopy's smoke/charcoal.
