  1. The hate for the 1998 American Godzilla film is getting old. I liked it when it was first released, saw it three times in the theater. The only bad part was the acting, mainly by Maria Pitillo, but the acting the Japanese Godzilla films we're mostly bad too. LOL
  2. I went sorta retro by reloading Crysis 1 on my new PC rig that I built last month. Hard to believe the game was released in 2007 as it still looks great at max settings! I wanted to play it again to test out my new GPU, AMD 280X. My old rig using a AMD 4850 and then a 6870 could barely do medium to medium high settings.
  3. I'm avoiding that extended look trailer as I don't want to see any spoilers. I'm happy with just a teaser and then a full trailer if I'm sold on a movie. Still, I can't wait! Godzilla is at the top of my must-see list!!
  4. Real shame we never saw a BSG film. The series's effects on a motion picture budget would of been amazing!!
  5. I read the film's directors had Chris Evans learn Krav Maga for the role's fighting scenes. It's a good self-defense art to learn, the elevator scene reminded me of when I earned my Practitioner 2 patch. That kicked my butt!! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2014/04/04/captain-america-2-directors-talk-filming-in-d-c-casting-robert-redford-and-the-movies-very-timely-politics/
  6. At the time I thought Jem was a rip off of Robotech's popularity with Minmei.
  7. Saw it last weekend with the wife and her friend. Typically I liked it more and in some ways a little more than the first 300. That being said, they definitely set this film up for a third film.
  8. I watched the first episode on the last season and it looked sooooo good on my 65in Panasonic plasma.
  9. This may be the best Transformers to date but I suspect it'll be Michael Bay's last as the franchise desperately needs needs a reboot.
  10. I read this on AICN and its sounds too ambitious. Hollywood needs to sit down, watch the original 1984 film and learn why it was so cool.
  11. Carl Macek's Robotech had a great story but it's limited by many things. If I ever won the lotto I'd buy the Robotech rights from HG and just reboot the series with new character and mecha designs so it wouldn't be beholden to anyone.
  12. Is this movie as whimsical as Ghibli's last films? I could barely watch those. The only Miyazaki films I enjoyed were Nausicaä and Princess Mononoke.
  13. I watched the trailer on my 65in plasma using the Youtube app and it looked amazing! I recommend you do the same if you own a large screen smart TV. That being said I can't wait to see the whole film on the big screen!! Just curious, I know the Japanese hated the last Godzilla remake so does anyone know how they feel about this new re-remake?
  14. I'd like to see a Valk that Batman would fly. It'd have to be in black or very very dark grey
  15. More or less an exaggeration on my part However some parts were tweaked more than I liked. I'd like see to a Macross toy made using Magpul polymer
  16. I'm reading through this long thread and was wondering if this YF-19 will be worth the $$$. Any idea on how it'll be compared to Yamato's toys? I had the Yamato VF-11B and practically destroyed it trying to transform it, ugh. I hadn't bought a Macross toy in over ten years but this new YF-19 has my interest peaked!!
  17. I finished Attack on Titan. I hope there is a second season!!
  18. The original Robocop's theme was 'the future of law enforcement.' Interestingly the new Robocop has a better grasp on that theme when it comes to drones and surveillance. Pretty scary stuff if you value civil liberties. I doubt we'll see anything like a Robocop in our lifetime but what we saw in the Tehran scene may not be far that off.
  19. I'm into episode 10 of Attack on Titan. Holy crap the series is addictive and I can see why it's so popular.
