  1. That was anime life back in the 1980s. I watched many anime, mostly bootleg, VHS tapes that had no subtitles before anime became mainstream in the early 1990s. But yeah, I'll avoid anime with no subtitles too.
  2. As odd as Danny McBride's casting is I think he will actually make the film better with his humor. Humor helps cut the tension in between tense scenes and Prometheus had none of it. Best example of adding humor is Bill Paxton's Hudson in ALIENS.
  3. New trailer. Looks good though CG monsters don't seem to scare me, looks like they are going for the gore factor this time around.
  4. Looks great. Taking the 17th off to go see it.
  5. I hadn't seen any film with Ryan Gosling yet, this will probably be the first.
  6. Any details? Reboot or sequel?
  7. So... by 2049 the sequel will be a classic
  8. Near Dark was great when it first came out. Very original and entertaining vampire film that helped launch Kathryn Bigelow's directing career.
  9. Such a sad shock. I wonder what kind of surgery killed him?
  10. Through his Facebook page I've witnessed CosmoDNA to be an arrogant prick of a fanboy to fellow Yamato fans, even to me.
  11. I'm hoping Bandai will release a subbed and/or dubbed version here in the States and soon. This could work out better for us if the blu-rays are more affordable than Japanese imports.
  12. Disney should add more natural elements to their live action films. It's jarring to see a 18 or 17th century setting look so clean, probably because its all filmed on a studio lot. I'll probably still see it but I'm not expecting a great film.
  13. This trailer proves this film will be the best ALIEN film since Requiem. Seriously, I didn't give a damn about any of the characters in that trailer. It was all so contrived. If Ridley was trying to rehash the 'family meal' scenes in ALIEN and ALIENS then he failed on that. That being said I'm going to wait till the reviews and word of mouth is good on this film before I pay money to see it in a theater.
  14. I don't think this was trailer was posted yet. Found it on their Facebook page. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=gH5VvkGVjjQ
  15. Heh. If this film does well I hope Hollywood will take anime to live action films more seriously. I know they can do a live action Attack on Titan right but will they?
  16. It may be because I was an 80s kid but I never understood the appeal of the Power Rangers. Is it still considered popular with kids or is this film only trying to bank on nostalgia?
  17. Bah, still hadn't seen the first film. It's been sitting on my DVR for several months. On a side note The Matrix trilogy is on AMC right and it made me think Hollywood should really revisit that franchise.
  18. Wife and I really enjoy TABOO on FX with Tom Hardy. Love 19th century drama and Tom gives it intensity.
  19. Aw, man. RIP Richard Hatch. He was the original Apollo in Battlestar Galactica and returned in the rebooted series as a rebel/politician. He died of pancreatic cancer and it looks like it killed him rather quickly. Same happened to my grandmother a month after her 81st birthday. http://www.tmz.com/2017/02/07/battlestar-galactica-star-richard-hatch-dead/
