Blue and white repaint of the 1/60 yf-19

Very odd. Got shipping notification within 48 hours on the two things I got from them. Got tracking for my 19F this morning.

The amount of metal in the 17 is pretty staggering. I was floored when I started messing with mine. I think the 17 may also be larger? But I don't have the VF-4 so I could be wrong.

I hope we get them with the almost inevitable re-do of the YF-19, because I agree, they were awesome. A forum member was selling both for extremely reasonable prices, but the Double Nuts got snapped up really quick. I'd say these forums are probably your best bet for ever finding one for a reasonable amount.

Got my 19 Kai from a fellow forum member today and it is beautiful. The fighter mode is so amazing I don't even want to transform it, though current space issues may force my hand. I have a 19F coming as well and I'll almost certainly display that one in Battroid mode. It's been a while since I really bought anything Macross related, but I am loving the stuff I've picked up since Christmas. Yamato is just hitting it out of the park with this newer stuff.

So I know I'm late to the party but my 17s showed up today. This is my first valk since the 11b and I love it. The weight, build quality and overall look are fantastic. I like it so well I might try and snag the stand alone armor for it, which I never buy. I probably paid a bit much for it getting it from bbts, but it's so nice I don't feel like it was overpriced. With how good this one is I can't wait to see the two 19's I bought. -
It just looks like a stock Ivanov to me *shrug*

I probably wont bother hunting one of these down now, especially since fighter mode is really the biggest appeal for me. But if there are different head variants to make or some interesting colors I might snag one eventually. My only real regret for not having one currently is that it looks like such a masterpiece of engineering that I'd love to have one just to marvel at it.

BAM, got one that time. One in fighter mode with the radar (hopefully) and I'll be happy.

A good/cheap solution (especially for those not experienced with washes and the like) is a mechanical pencil. You can get a really sharp point it by rubbing it against a piece of paper. It allows you to decide how dark you want it and it's fairly easy to remove if you mess up. I used this method back in the day on my 1/48 Roy.

I bought myself a 25g, 17s and a Fire Valk within the last...two weeks. Does that still count as holiday? Eyeballing maybe one more for now, can't quite decide what to go with though.

And you could be right. It's certainly the only color I really care for. I'm not gonna sweat it either way. My 25G renewal is on it's way and I'd like to get a feel for how Bandai's build quality is before I get all huffy about not having one on pre-order. Up until the last two weeks, it had been a few years since I last bought a Valk. So I have plenty of back log to pick from as alternatives.

Figures I'd be pulling into the driveway right as NY closes pre-orders again. Probably not gonna sweat it, since the first 171 is somewhat easy to find. I'll probably pay markup for this particular release if need be.

I'm very tempted to do this as well. The reports of paint scraping off on Bandai valks has made me hesitate on this one though.

I picked up a Thundertron this past weekend and I have to say, he's awesome. His beast mode isn't amazing but his robot mode is one of my favorites. His bot mode is nice and beefy and his head sculpt is awesome. Even the peg leg is cool, though my fondness of symmetry leads me ti leave his foot on. His weapon is crap out of the box. But remove the batteries and the spring and friction will hold it in the deployed mode. It makes a decent arm blade that way. -
The 29 has grown on me a lot since I first saw it. I really like the anniversary paint scheme too. I've warmed up to it enough I might try and find one of the versions for sale. It's a bit busy for a valk but I don't see it as super robot-y either. As for the 30, I dig it but I'm not sure I'd try and camp a website for it. But for the right paint scheme who knows.

Caved and ordered one. I've been kicking around buying this since pictures of it first showed up. All the positive reviews combined with the fact you can still find it at a decent price just made it too good to pass up.

This is one of the Frontier releases I'd really really like to have. I'd like to have one AWACS'd up like you see in the first episode. I'm assuming that was an armor add on of some kind in the show so maybe we'll see it as an add on.

Members here have found it in stock for about 90 bucks cheaper shipped. Glad you found one, but you may have overpaid a bit. The 25G doesn't seem to be as popular as the others even though I personally think it looks the best. 250 bucks is probably my top dollar for any of these. I'm not so attached to the designs that I must have them, nor am I willing to pay ebay scalpers way more than what it's worth.

I really dig the shape on that. I know literally nothing about the YF-30, but I'd be interested in getting one. Though the planets will need to align perfectly for me to even see a pre-order probably.

I sincerely hope he didn't pay 400 for it. I gave up my pre-orders for the G due to so much other stuff coming out at the time. But now that we're through the holidays and it's only about 20 dollars more than what I had pre-ordered it at...I'm super tempted. I certainly don't need the whole gang, but I dig the blue color and the head of the G.

Nice review Veef, as always. As for Soundwave, I could not be more excited for his MP release. He looks fantastic and managed to get delayed slightly, giving my wallet a much needed breather. I'm really not much of a Decipticon fan, most of my TF collection is Autobots and most of those are Prime. But I love Soundwave and I'm stoked for this figure. I even opted to pre-order the extra cassettes. For as much as I love Soundwave I've never owned a toy of him, this seemed like a good place to start. -
