  1. the hikaru 1/60 1A is really a very bright white. the max 1/60 1A is a more pleasing shade of off-white and grey, much like the current 1S you own. if you want something different, though, go for the hikaru.
  2. you could always pay me a visit at 121st and amsterdam. or you could get ahold of haterist in washington heights. seriously though, i'd recommend the following: 1. chinatown. cheap food, cheap macross DVDs (pirated and non-pirated) 2. Image Anime, at 30th street leaning over to the east side. their prices are crappy but you'll meet interesting modelers/japanimation fans there. the guy has a pretty nice macross collection on display as well. he's not going to sell his YF-19s, sadly http://www.imageanime.com for more information. 3. The Compleat Strategist. Forgot where this place is, but it is the last word in NY modelling (I think). 4. ToysRus. you might get lucky. swindle, grimlock, windcharger, ravage were all available last i checked. the 3 for 2 energon sale isn't on any more though, sadly. don't forget to take a manhattan cab at least once! you'll never forget the experience.
  3. take my word for it, enough people will like it. now get cracking on that YF-19!! (both the wallpaper and the modded battloid.)
  4. this one's a no-brainer. put me down for one.
  5. moral hazard right here on MW, courtesy of AlphaHX. back to the economic analysis of government takings ... *sigh*
  6. WHERE in Singapore was that Vanpang???
  7. haha .. priceless. now you're sure this has never been posted before? just foolin'.
  8. recast. then sell. we buy.
  9. sasquatch, that doesn't sound like a common problem. do you have any pics?
  10. I'm very new here, so I don't know much, but I recall seeing one evening that MGREXX had posted onto 9 threads consecutively (I saw it after hitting "View New Posts") and thinking to myself, "Wow, that bloke must really know quite a bit about Macross". Then I went and read all his posts ... and came away none the more edified than before. To be fair, I do post my fair share of "Wow that's really impressive work!"s and "LOL "s, but never ... in a lump. Unconstructive thread, be you gone (after my post, that is )!
  11. SolScud007 (a member here at MW) has done a really good repaint of the Bandai Fire Valk. It doesn't look exactly like the Mac Plus YF-19, but it *is* in black and white colors (relatively speaking). You can check out the pics in the "Customs" section of MW, or look for the thread on it (hanging around somewhere here on the forums). I do know that he's open to selling it, if you're interested.
  12. I sure hope so! I can't believe how depressed I was on reading the news (or "news", as the case may be). I can barely start to project my reaction if MW goes down.
  13. haha touche gene. that $75 hikaru actually has me convinced that panel lining is the way to go for all valks.
  14. man i love those astrays. i'm beginning to think that i have a fetish for mecha available in red and blue. observe my hankerings: Fix Figuration 0017a and 0017b Astray Red and Blue Frame Max and Miriya VF-1J Rook and Scott Alphas Moon Stalker and Hemo Goblin XEVOZ (uh ... yeah. dum dee dum) Cryo Katana and Inferno Fury XEVOZ (dum dum dum dum ...) and ... FIRE and BLAZER VALKS from MACROSS 7!!!!
  15. heads up! not presently in singapore, but will be back soon how much are you paying for them YF-19s back home now btw?
  16. I think the Binalts are actually a tad more realistic than the stuff Yamato puts out. But that could be attributed to the fact that gigantic VF-1 type planes don't really exist in real life (unlike, say, the Mazda RX-. F-15s don't *quite* resemble your average valk.
  17. It's gorgeous. You should take a couple more pics of it in various poses (spread-leg, crouching etc) to better convey the superiority of your custom. Though I guess you'd want to prime it first.
  18. I would recommend the VF-19a. It's got all those improvements over the YF-19 2nd. Ed., plus a cool color scheme. I have to warn you though - it might never give you the gratification that would come with owning something that actually came from the OVA. Problem is, where are you going to find one these days? EvilBay has ONE, and that's going for $249. I mean, that's, er, not a very reasonable sum. I'd recommend Valk009 (Andy, another member here at MW) - he's in Hong Kong, but he's got a few left, and he can hook you up for MUCH less than $200. Drop him a PM. And don't worry, he's a good guy
  19. I was about to say that, Ali. To a certain extent, the same can be said for the search function (if it's not something specifically discussed before). Great avatar, btw
  20. I find that I resolve many of my collecting dilemmas much easier when I post onto MW. So, some thoughts: should I or should I not collect the "Not-in-Alternators-Line" Binaltechs? So far there've been three - Smokescreen GT, Yellow Tracks and Red Meister. If it were only these 3, I'd collect them - however, I fear that Takara has a lot more up its sleeves. If for every 5 Binalt figures, there are like 3 repaints that *aren't* in the Alternators line, it would be really difficult (and expensive) for me to cough up for those Binaltech-exclusive repaints. On the other hand, if it were something 1 in 5, that wouldn't be too bad. Anybody who knows the mechanics of the Takara licenses from the various car companies? For instance, why the hell are there FOUR freaking Tracks??? Red, blue, yellow and black??? Maybe we'll have a rainbow coloured one next. Anyway, I'll be happy to hear thoughts from anyone. (in any case: I have the unopened Smokescreen GT, Yellow Tracks and Red Meister. I might sell them off. If you're interested, drop me a PM.)
  21. that is one helluva piece. you've got the whole psychedelic colors thing going on. funky invid! maybe you could produce an entire psychedelic mospeada art line. man, yellow/lancer would look SO (much more) gay.
  22. between the VF-0 and the SV-51, i think i'd rather have the latter. the difference between the VF-0 and the VF-1 series, at least to me, is insufficient to justify too much excitement. now the nora and ivanov ones, they're groovy! (or at least, different.)
  23. wow thanks for all the pics! well .. that gives you an excuse to touch and play with your gundams, no? hmm so i guess the GFFs are about the same height as the Toynami MPC Alphas? that isn't too bad i suppose ...
  24. by "gimmick" you mean ... flashing lights? isn't that limited to the ingram 2? how many sprues, do you know?
  25. aw shucks. i'm planning on buying up all the GFFs that transform. do you know, apart from wing and 0017a and 0017b, what others do transform? i hear that these GFFs, while very detailed, also suffer from lack of poseability ... is that true? BTW, anyone out there with pics of 0017a and 0017b, do post 'em up! Cheers!
