  1. the finished bike, with stick's side-arm mounted missiles. the flash on iron kits are a bitch to trim.
  2. Another classic case of "biting off more than you can chew". This kit was about 2304239483928943 times more difficult than my first kit, the Bandai Variable Type VF-1S (1/72 - still available for your viewing displeasure somewhere on the model kits forum). Nonetheless, I post my garish results here for all to see. I don't have any shots of it in armor mode - I haven't mustered up the courage to transform it yet. Here we have the shiny parts still on the nice, shiny sprues. Looking back, I think the kit looked best at this stage.
  3. lol ... a fair question. well, i'm a big fan of the mecha in mospeada. so i'll take anything i can get, even if it's from toynami. second, i own both MPC valks and MPC legiosses ... and i can see the quality improving. i think/hope that toynami will get it right with both the cyclones and betas. and finally, if the toy is crap, at least the packaging is well fit for display. apart from TFH, where would you go to buy toynami/yamato stuff in SG?
  4. That's great to hear. There *will* be places in Singapore selling the Toynami cyclones/betas when they are eventually released, yes? Not to mention whatever Yamato has left to throw at us.
  5. izzyfcuk .. your avatar says "Macross Singapore"? is there such a club? any URL?

    Low Viz 1S Heads

I'd like one set of hands please. PM sent.
  7. wow, the level of irrelevance reached by this thread is quite something. NY is cold. but i'll be going up to canada soon (just for fun), so i guess i'll have a different perspective after that.
  8. IMHO, the Alphas are well worth the money. Especially when they're going for $59.99. They have lots of diecast, look decent in all three modes (particularly good in battloid), and have great stickers. I like 1/48s just as much as the next guy, but these guys aren't too far off. And lets not forget the great Toynami packaging. Anyway, here you go Mech:
  9. Did a search, nothing (relevant) came up, so I thought I'd post this: http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/showthread.php...0178#post340178 Quite fascinating. Unfortunately, only fans in Hong Kong/Singapore/China/Taiwan/Malaysia will be able to appreciate this. I think, however, there's an English comic adaptation of the Condor Heroes out there somewhere.
  10. hey wow thanks! that was very helpful of you. they look pretty good to me, at least in battloid mode. ps. i've been following your YF-19 kitbash. it's coming along very, very well.
  11. (First of all: I did a search with kinds of permutations on "Kai", "Bandai", "1/100" and "Fire", and nothing came up. If you do know a relevant existing thread, please point me to it. Thanks in advance.) Thinking of getting the Bandai 1/100 Kai Valkyrie from HLJ (check it out here: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN47169), but first I'd like to find out more about it. Does anyone have pics? Information? Current owners have any thoughts on it? Importantly also: is there anywhere else to buy this kit, apart from HLJ? I hear that they have some problems with shipping (delays, admin errors etc). Thanks, and hope to hear from someone soon.
  12. Windy, I would say, is the worst Alternator to date. He has some competition from Sideswipe, but Sideswipe is, overall, more poseable (better ankles). Windy's transformation process is really quite unsatisfying, and his car mode ain't all that hot either. His gun is ... wait, what gun? In robot mode, Windy looks like a wimp. He's all skinny and ... just blauahhh like. Now GRIMLOCK, he's BADASS in robot mode. But I'd say overall Meister tops the competition. Now, back to YF-19 poseability - nice one Prometheum5, but wouldn't you say his legs still look kinda .. kinda like a girl who doesn't want to put out? I dunno.
  13. wow. that's ... a lot of thread. i feel like a kitten.
  14. while we're on the topic of "difficult-to-pose" toys ... (a topic, granted, started by me), here's Windcharger in a (at least to my eyes - most of the pics i've seen of him involve a squarish blob on two toothpicks) decent pose: (sorry this will be the first and last non-valk pic from me in this thread)
  15. heh .. you know, after that whole hands disaster, i've just stopped touching my MPC alphas. they kinda sit/stand around all day looking on as I play with my NEWLY ACQUIRED ALTERNATOR RAVAAAGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEE. regarding legs: yeah. i know you have to pull them real hard. but this lancer, i pulled and pulled and i started getting visions of returning the entire toy to toynami and so i stopped. no biggie, he stays up unless i touch him with more than average force. regarding arms locking in fighter mode: mine *kinda* lock in, but not much really. you just have to make sure everything is snug - legs in, tabs inserted into slots, etc etc. some force doesn't hurt either, though i wouldn't recommend that. i should really get some replacement stickers though.
  16. nah. it slid down - doesn't quite lock into place.
  17. word of advice: do NOT allow ANY of your MPC Alphas to hold their rifles (as per my pictures above). take it from someone who's had to get replacement hands from toynami IMHO, the Lancer Alpha trounces both scott and rook. there's something very pleasing about its head sculpt.
  18. battloid, worm's eye view: (note - careless transformation has already begun the paint chipping process around the upper legs)
  19. Graham: you asked for a stickered greenie? here ya go! (i made some *major* stickering errors, although some were deliberate) Fighter, side profile (please excuse the floating landing gear):
  20. actually, there might just be a way to pose the YF-19/VF-19a *without* a carebear. i know it's not much, but it's probably the best i can do without modding the hip/upper leg joints. (yeah this is a screwed up display. banprestos are placeholders for an incoming VF-11B FP ...)
