Is the picture huge? I used to get problems when I tried to upload a really large pic. try using imageshack.

Graham, ask them to make clear parts for the GBP like they did for the strike set! It might take some work to install but I think it'd be coo'!

Where did you want the pilots to bang the civilian ladies? They sure as heck didn't seem to want that going on back at the soldiers' quarters.

I would like to see more paint schemes that are only slight alterations of existing ones... j/k

Yeah, that's what I mean by "playing" the better person. He tried to seem like this great guy with super high standards but deep down he just sucked.

LOL... but nah, I like his descent. For one, it's strikingly adult subject matter for a cartoon. For two, it shows that being a paficist and playing the better person doesn't equate to a whole lot unless there's a lot more behind it than attempting to be unabashedly contrarian. LOL, that's not a dig on Hurin... I was looking for the proper wording and boom, there was his title!

technically it's okay to quote that image since it's no longer on the same page...

MPC VF-1: $24.95 for Ben Dixon up to $99.99 for Rick Hunter MPC VF-1 Appendix: I think we're now at like $59.99 for a Rick Hunter and $99.99-$149.99 for a Max/Miriya (yes, that's insane).

I don't know if this is mentioned but it's a thought, I would like Yamato to stop skipping the details on non-canon paint schemes. I'd have to double-check, but didn't they leave everything on the Stealth black (like the area where the airbrake is? I think they also made the turbines black? Seems to me like they just kind of skipped it out of convenience. Heck, if you don't think shiny metal paint looks cool for a certain scheme then why not give us a flat gray or something? Yes, this is an uber nitpick but hey... why not?

I dig it in fighter mode but in battroid it looks like a black guy in a white suit. I have nothing against black guys, or white suits but I feel like something is missing in that mode. Obvioulsy good work and 100x better than I could ever do. Edit - Just looked at the close-ups, I really like the detail work and effects.

You don't find Egan Loo... he finds YOU. LOL, ignore that. It's pretty clear that the creators of Macross made efforts to copy military structures and nomenclatures outside of Japan but just used everything as a loose framework. So it's inconsistent but hardly out of an attempt to be clever in a confusing fashion. If it's an example of them just lifting the Japanese way of doing things it seems pretty odd since most aspects seem to emulate English-speaking/structured militaries. Now, if you're suggesting it was just poorly researched, they thought it sounded cooler, or they figured no one in Japan or anywhere else would ever care enough to dig into it, that I could totally understand.

There was a preorder for the Shin pack on eBay for $195 shipped to the US. I think that was a bit better than I have been seeing it elsewhere... still seems steep to me (but I'm getting more and more cheap). I really think people who preorder should get a break on these products, not just have the first opportunity to pay MSRP.

just the head and the available paint schemes. For all sorts of pics, go to this page.

Wow, that's seriously a great price! Side-entry is a pain but how often am I actually putzing around with the stuff in my cabinets? Where does one buy one of these? -
I don't know that they're the *best* overall but I will say that the MPC is the most fun in Guardian/Gerwalk. I could definitely tweak it in ways for my photo shoot that I could not do with either the 1/60 or the 1/48. Still, I would rather have a toy try to compete more in either fighter or battl/roid mode and that's where the MPC gets instantly eclipsed.

I revised my review of the Toynami appendices for the VF-1 veritechs on my site. Here's some images:

"What do we do now?" "We die!" Dude, back off Last Starfighter... if that movie featured the Governator it'd be the greatest movie of all time. (bringing back some A1 humor in his absence) -

Overall dimensions sound pretty good. I think a little more depth would probably help but otherwise that's fairly decent. It's affordable huh? Where would one get one like this and what's the price tag? I almost bought one just like it a year ago but it had an oak finish. -
I can see your foot I like the paint scheme, spruces up the valk a little. I'm still diggin' the Max though.

I think they're the exact same DVDs. I don't own both, just the Rt.com version, but the inner-boxes look just like the Animeigo release so I imagine the DVDs inside are the same also.

I'm actually pretty surprised, from the random tidbits I'd caught from people who had seen it they all seemed generally impressed with the music (if nothing else). I haven't heard enough of it to comment myself. I will say that I did receive a free copy of the RT soundtrack at some point and it's pretty painful listening. I did like it during the actual show though, it's one of the things the people at HG actually did well to tie the three different series together (IMHO). PS - there is no such thing as a "mock" anime style, the idea itself strikes me as pretentious. It may be a "new" style, it may be overly-stylized, but mock? That requires an actual concrete definition of what anime style is and try finding one definition and going through the decades of anime and applying it... it'll never work. Then, once you have this impossible to obtain definition you'd have to come up with a concrete reason on how newer shows fail to accomplish this. Perhaps we could just deem it "Korean new-wave anime." Crap, I just argued semantics, I apologize. -

That's a very nice display case. How tall is that? My problem with finding good pre-made display cases is that they tend to be a bit shorter than I'd like. -
Let's see, 0S is froppy, 0A has fragile shoulders and doesn't really belong to any series since it's a quasi-canon paint scheme, I'm going with the VF-1 or the YF-19... and the VF-1 looks to be a bit better than the 19 to me.

If you stare directly into the sexy eye Visor of the VF-1S above and then let your eyes drift down just a bit and to your left of the center line you'll notice a little white pimple of sorts. That's the flaw that bugs people about the first edition 1S. Edit - Sorry, the lighting isn't ideal in that picture... I'll photoshop it at a later date to brighten it up a bit. -

I'm fairly sure it was just the first edition Focker VF-1S that has the mole. I don't do DYRL paint schemes (other than Focker's) so I can't say I'm ABSOLUTELY certain but I'd say 90% sure on this. Edit - I see the arrows don't matter from your previous post. Painting I'd think could be done by just taping 'em off or something simple.
