  1. Maybe you can ask Egan for his sources, but ... are you saying that the actual DYRL 1984 film was exactly the same DYRL "film" shown in M7, even tho there were quite specific differences listed/documented by the Macross Compendium?
  2. last of the jpg-versions (cropped) for today. 060512-1613 - tammy-vc at 155mm/iso-450: 060512-1755 - tammy-vc at 160mm/iso-100: 060512-1759 - tammy-vc at 175mm/iso-100: 060512-1857 - nikkor-vr at 200mm/iso-100: that's it. had to try the nikkor since teh funky solar filter was usable on it at its max 200mm. too lazy to do the NEFs. at least, for now... edit: add
  3. at 1625 PST: cropped from this: for other pics later, the album-link will be at https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink oh, and my funky solar-filter's not quite big enough for me to get the Tammy to do a full-on 300mm: edit: simplified.
  4. here's a jpg of mine a few minutes ago... @ 1546-PST (cropped): edit: updated.
  5. yo! venus transit this afternoon! get yer cameras and solar filters ready. starts around 3pm PST...
  6. if it's in the Macross Compendium, it's solid.
  7. snapped at Saturn last nite. original cropped jpg vs cropped nef/png zoomed at 2800%: so, sunset beach-y!
  8. fwiw, got my email-notification from hlj yesterday that my Roy-TV with option-parts has shipped.
  9. It's not only in writing (see the Macross Chronicle for the latest update to the official continuity), it is referenced as being a movie in the actual anime, at least in Macross 7. reckon we just have to accept that there are two DYRL's: - the true one, e.g. original version. - the M7 "movie"-version (with a Max StrikeFP-VF1S!). kinda like M-Zero, where there's -- the original OVA. -- the "movie"-version in M-Frontier.
  10. classic. facepalm+lol. every. time. at any rate, thnx for the snaps!
  11. well, hey! how about some more moonshots. this time, with NO tripod-help! jpgs just cropped only. too lazy to bother with the NEFs. exifs retained from original shots. Tammy's VC was rather nice to my shaky arms this time...
  12. Try it on low-light shots. thanks, guys. haven't had much time with it, yet, but here's a couple of test-quickies while first mating it with a borrowed d90: yeah, i know they both suck. both pics are really not-so-good-quickies coz aside from the suddenly drizzly weather today, the real reason I haven't had that much playtime with the cheapy-50mm was due entirely to the thingy at the left of this pic that came with the borrowed d90: which produced this test-quickie earlier: so, got a couple of lens and stuff to play with for this long weekend. hopefully i find some interesting stuff and/or subjects for 'em...
  13. last week. from the 10th-flr. just appreciating the view...
  14. delivered today, my new toy: coz it's darn good and darn cheap. plus the G has been OOS since, like, forever...
  15. the Moon was pretty earlier tonite and tried to get some shots in. unfortunately, didn't really noticed a bothering itsy bitsy smudge on my lens that pretty much ruined most of the shots. couple with some light pollution from the nearby park, clouds and other tenants parking their cars. oh, well. here are some that I salvaged from this Luna session. even caught Tau with her (do a full-res to see his dotness a bit better): jpg vs nef at +3 exposure: jpg vs nef at +3 exposure: frickin' park lights... jpg vs nef at 0 exposure: don't wanna bother doing the NEFs since I think the darkish background from the jpgs are ok enuff for me. will prolly try again tomorrow night. if she's still as pretty... edit/add: yeah. ufraw'ed the exposure-comps of the NEFs to produce the png's.
  16. some zoo-stuff: d3100 with 55-200mm/70-300mm/35mm lens. yeah. guess i really do need that 18-200mm lens when doing some zoo-ing for convenience against lens-swapping...
  17. got some partial solar-eclipse shots at: https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink yeah. don't laugh too hard. d3100+tamron+raybans+live-view+tripod+remote.
  18. shot of Venus with the tamron-burrito last week, and cropped/zoomed in at 1000% via gimp. (nef is left, jpg on right): i really have no idea what i was doing. wrong and otherwise. can't even replicate the shot anymore in subsequent tries. oh, well...
  19. yeah. nice, but will prolly wait for the FP'ed editions instead. or unless there's a good sale...
  20. thanks! trying to keep my NAS from spiraling out of control. tho i reckon i still want a nice dedicated macro-lens to complete my set and still am lusting after the D800. it's really a good thing that most Nikkors and stuff are almost always both out-of-stock and prohibitively expensive. all wants, never really an actual need.
  21. most likely gonna get the DYRL-CF when price becomes reasonable. don't really need the accessory-parts for it, tho. however, definitely getting another Hikky-1S. FP's are damn required! btw, does anybody know if the accessory-parts are gonna be offered separately? highly unlikely and stupid to get another set of the DYRL Skull-team just to get them parts.
  22. hmmm. me just put me current pixies in: https://picasaweb.go...gCO-wyZ2W4dnzJw camera: nikon dinky-3100 lens: nikkor 35mm-f1.8/18-55mm-VR/55-200mm-VR, tamron burrito 70/300mm VC. tripod: dolica st-500 bag: tamrac 3537 oh, guess i should post a pic: Nikkoe 55-200mm VR lens used on a rainy nite...
  23. ehehehe! just got my 1/60 Isamu 11b, and it's really frickin' awesome!
  24. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/generations-voyager-soundblaster-with-buzzsaw-revealed-175015/ awesome!
