    oh. i don't have the CF, so i wasn't really aware of it. the no-paint 1A-kit also sport the tv-head. maybe they'll release a proper DYRL-CF complete with the FPs and the green arrow-markings during DYRL-anniversary?

    Yeah. Looks like factory-defect to me. You'll need to return them to that shop. Send them an email right away, with the pics. On their website, they state: not sure who's gonna eat the shipping-cost for the return, tho.

    well, since it's non-yamato and considering this "thing" went for $2600 (201,000 yen) at auction-end, may be it'll be an ultra-exclusive Mylene hugging-pillow complete with her verified-used fire-bomber leotards. oy, vey... way to delay the 17D...

    I'll take your word for it since I don't import anymore. At any rate, other than being region-free and the LE-schwag, what else do you guys think make this BD worth your import?

    I'm gonna have to agree with the Sith Lord here. It's nice of them to give us extras like the pachinko game footage, but will Blu-Ray really make this 30-year old cartoon look any better? They'll be upscaling video. The sound is still mono. And as EXO said, I don't know if I wanna see some of those scenes in HD. I will have to agree with him as well. The only advantage of this BD is that at the very least, you won't need to a region-hacked player for it since the US and Japan are in the same BD-region. I'm not quite sure AmJ's listing of "all-region" is that accurate, yet.

    uhhh, not really. Gundam may be look better, but I think that's more of Bandai always having better (or rather, properly maintained) masters of it than they ever have of their Macross.

    ok. here are the amj-preorder pages (standard 26% amj-discount): LE (34,965y)== http://www.amazon.co...uct/B006QRCBG2/ non-LE (29,526y) == http://www.amazon.co...uct/B006QRCBFI/ dunno how much amj charges for foreign-shipping (still 2000y?) nowadays, tho. make sure you also account for your countries' VAT and/or whatever-else-tax. nothing on CDJapan, yet, but they're usually (but not always) at 5-10% off-msrp on preorders.

    btw, just looking at the msrp from cdj: TV-HDremaster == 38000y TV-BD == 39900y TV-BDLE == 47250y so based on that, I can speculate that the eventual DYRL-BD will be around 8700y for the non-LE and the DYRL-BDLE will be at 19050y. prepare thy behinds already! just hope for a better exchange-rate soon...

    kinda funny scheduling, tho. during the hd-remaster days, Plus-HDremaster(8/07) was released first and followed by DYRL-HDremaster(12/07), while TV-HDremaster was last (2/08). now we only got TV-BD release-announcement for 5/12. reckon it would be totally awesome if the Yammie VF-4G will be released alongside DYRL-BD.

    nothing on bandaivisual's site regarding bd-editions of DYRL or Plus, yet. hopefully when they do become available, the pricing won't be as insane as this TV's bd-pricing.

    Well, see you're not realizing that you're violating anime law by even posing your question in the first place and trying to wrap it with some real world physics and aerodynamics shenanigans. Specifically... Anime Law #33 states... Law of Topological Aerodynamics, First Law of Anime Aero-Dynamics *ANY* shape, no matter how convoluted or odd-looking, is automatically aerodynamic. so, there.
