Considering shoulder breakage on subsequent releases has sharply dropped, I would say that the chance of the -1D having shoulder problems is pretty low unless you fling it around by its arm mid-transformation. Who knows, maybe that's what people have done to the other releases that have only had one or two breaks just so they could be in with the in crowd? You know, sort of a "Uh oh, my Yamato product isn't breaking on it's own! I better break something subtly enough that I can blame it on design, engineering, materials or QC, so that way I can bellyache about it on the forums!" Vostok 7

Well, the prototype seems to be in about the same stage the original 1/60 Monster was when they were first showing that off, and we all know how that (de)evolved into the 1/100 Konig. At some point they'll probably realize that 1/2000 is just a little TOO unreasonable and it'll get shaved down a little bit, just like the Monster. But we'll see. I know that anything SDF will probably fly off the shelves in Japan, I just don't know if 50k yen is a good price point. Vostok 7

Also, that's the first time I've seen the VF-25G with the gunpod attached in Fighter mode. Vostok 7

Actually, the yen is 93/1 right now, and has been slowly going down. By the time the SDF-1 ever gets to market, it'll be more like 100/1 or better. HLJ always shows an artificially low rate on their auto-conversions. Vostok 7

Any word on scale? Wouldn't it be awesome if Yamato and Bandai and communicated before hand and both the new SDF-1 and the Macross Quarter will be 1/2000? Though, the Quarter could be larger scale and still be reasonably sized. Vostok 7

HA! I was closest in scale (I guessed 1/2500). I think if they do ABS/POM/Die-Cast construction like the Destroids it won't be too expensive, most of the cost would go into gimmicks, also depending on quantity made. The transformation of the SDF-1 is relatively simple, so engineering isn't much of an issue. Considering this will be the biggest, and potentially most detailed SDF-1 ever made, I imagine it will sell like hotcakes, especially in Japan. I'm excited. I also wouldn't be surprised if this shrank a tiny bit to something closer to 1/2500 scale by the time it was released. Vostok 7

OH I SO WANT IT. Does anyone have the PKO version to comment on the quality? I was almost going to buy the PKO version and paint it olive drab to replicate the JGSDF version! I'm glad Koto's making this version! And geez, looking at those pictures I can see why Yamato's AV98 is so danged expensive! Look at all the little gimmicks! Can someone tell me why CMs Brockens are so expensive though? Vostok 7

Nope. Years ago when I bought my Yamato 1/72s the shop owner threw in a MAXL as a gift that was from that line. It has two whole models, a fighter and a battroid. Both suck pretty bad, but then they are Mac7 goods so what do you expect? Vostok 7

Ahhhhh gotcha. I believe it will have a gunpod and missiles, but I don't believe we've seen any images showing it with anything yet. The V1 -1D had a gunpod and missiles, so no reason to believe the V2 wouldn't. Vostok 7

Whats cool about it is that they wouldn't even really need to make a whole new figure. It could just be an "appendix" pack with all the parts necessary to convert either Stick's or Ray's MOSPEADA. Vostok 7
