I'm looking into this.
-
Also don't forget to give it plenty of drying time. You don't want to stretch parts out of their original proportions.
-
I may have to hit you up on these parts, Magnus. it looks like the donor parts coming are broken at a different location from everyone else's. I'll let you know once I receive the parts. Thanks again.
-
Our Hero!! Thanks EXO, you're the best. We'll meet up this coming week.
-
What?? I thought yours weren't meant to be broken. What happened?!?!?!?!
-
Magnus The part is useful, but a clean unrepaired set would be perfect. This would allow me to repair the broken set at exactly where the break is. I need to study the weak point and come to a solution for making a stronger recast. Thank you for your volunteering of parts, it is greatly appreciated. Hopefully, someone out there has both arms broken and unrepaired.

It was stated by Graham, that the backpack heatflap does NOT swing over the thrusters. It's just not meant to do this. If you did, you'd be in for a big dissapointment.

Yoo hoo....Pics?

Has anyone started to build this kit?

Izzy, There is also an varient without the Strike pack. This was also released by Club-M, and I think is far more rare than the UD Strike Version. There are also larger scale valkyries produced by a company called REDs. The are a bit more rare and have far less detail than the UD Strike. IIRC, the scales offered were; 1/32, 1/24, and a whopping 1/20. Some members on these boards have these and it would be fantastic if they could share some pics. Or even offer some insight on these rare kits.

1/2000 Macross and 1/32 scale YF 19 interest?

Can't wait to see you get started on this. Will there be a WIP thread? Will this be transformable or static? If static, which or the three modes? -
Could you post a pic?

Still waiting for someone to step forward with necessary parts for this project. Anyone?
-
That's a nice paint job, Judokast. Are you disassembling the VF-1s? Or are you still brush painting them all together?

This is turning into an epidemic. If I am to reproduce these, I need broken limbs from an original VF-0A, A only. I would have to use the parts to thicken and enhance the old design. The reason, I ask for "A" limbs is that I would like to reproduce these as they have the screw holes, as do the bicep covers. If there is anyone out there who can help to get this project one step further please contact me via PM. I would require both halves of the upper left and right arms, as well as, both halves of the left and right bicep covers. I will do my best with this project and try to obtain a very close to original color match. Thanks, NB4M

You know after seeing all these broken shoulders I am really considering recasting these parts in a really strong resin. While I am not sure of what the long term effects are. I am sure it would be better than having a VF-0 with a broken arm. If there is enough interest I could reproduce the parts using an unbroken arm. I could attempt to reinforce it somehow so it wont be as easy to break and might be able to retaina a small rubber washer inside that can keep the arm somewhat tight.

Oh they're coming. Since my wife had our daughter I have only recently been allowed around paints. Next month it will be rubber molds and resin casts. Life and it's little compromises. ------------------------------------------------------------- For the Super/Strike Packs I'm going with the Bandai 1/100 VF-1D Super Valkyrie. It comes with the Super parts along with a different set of Strike parts. The level of detail on the Strike parts are much better than the counter parts.

How to (or should I) sand down thickness of 1/48 canopy
nightmareB4macross replied to ghostryder's topic in The Workshop!
It's the either the reason or the mixture that are at fault. It's never the producer. -

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.

Nice idea on the repair. You could also try using a rubber vaccum plug. It is found in most auto parts places in the "HELP" section. The plugs come in various sizes and can be cut to your needs. The price is only a buck for a set of 12. -
Isn't the G-system kit a reproduction of the Club-M kit? From all the pics I've ever seen the G-System kit has a fewer parts. I've read posts before where builders state parts are missing when it comes to building the G-system kit, as the follow the instruction book, but the parts are casted together. Also, isn't there something about them previously producing the landing gear in resin? I'n not mistaking this for other HK recast shops, but from what I can recall from previous threads and comments posted here. Bring on the comparison. You've just caught my complete attention.

Seriously. We should. I actually own a VF-1S Hikaru Strike Valkyrie and a static fighter VF-1D, both customized by Jung Chao. The colors on the VF-1D are really very nice.

They are.

That has always been the best looking interpretation of the YF-21. I hope Yamato makes it soon.
