  1. chowyunskinny, you should work as a casting director in Hollywood. Seriously.
  2. Yes, that's how I believe that's how it works. So far I've only played PS1 games on my own wireless network, I'll have to try from another open wireless connection like Paneras. Like I said, I'm not 100% certain if you can now legally rip PS1 games to memory sticks. But if not, then I totally agree with you. If I could rip PS1 games to my PSP memory sticks then I'd be buying a ton more memory sticks so that I could have all my favorite games on the go, and more memory sticks sold is more money in Sony's bank. One reason I don't think Sony went this route is that they're afraid of people making hundreds of copies of SotN on memory sticks and reselling them. If that were the case Sony could encrypt each ISO so that it will only play on the PSP that's registered with it's corresponding PS3. Oh well, leave it to Sony to shoot themselves in the foot again.
  3. I just downloaded the PS3 update today and yes, you can play any PS1 disc on your PSP through the PS3. Basically the PS3 streams the game to your PSP, so far it works great with a little to no skipping, I'm impressed by how much data the PSP can process through its 802.11b connection. So far I haven't been able to figure out a way to save the whole disc to the psp's memory card. I'm not even sure if this is possible, but if isn't then you can only play PS1 games on the PSP as long as you're within range of a wireless connection and the PS3 is running. Not really helpful if you're on a plane and want to play PS1 games on the go.
  4. The second wave of enemies is going to consist of humanoid lumberjacks. The insects and lumberjacks will be working together to destroy all the trees in the Macross fleet. It's going to be up to the Private Military Force to show the insects and lumberjacks that trees are our friends. Kawamori's gotta tie nature into the story somehow.
  5. That's awesome! I'm gonna d/l this update as soon as I get home.
  6. Vintage 1/55's hit their apex in 2000 and subsequently hit their absolute lowest in late 2002 - 2004, I remember seeing 1/55 Elints selling for $300, lol! Oddly, some vintages have slowly been creeping back up in value, it looks to be mainly the Fast Pack equipped vintages such as the Super, Strike, Elint and Ostrich. I don't think vintage prices will ever again reach the 2000 level, but if Macross F turns out to be a success (and that's a big IF) now may be the best time pick some up.
  7. I completely agree, but Yamato should use their own proprietary shrink wrap with the "Y" on it. Xbox games use their own shrink wrap with a hologram to ensure no one with a shrink wrap machine reseals games. In Yamato's case, a hologram may be too much but at least print a good sized "Y" on the back. Quoted for truth!!
  8. Whoah, I think you might have. If you click the Signature Proof link it shows that someone signed for your package upon delivery. Good luck getting this worked out.
  9. You're referring to the training montage, right? The original SFX is missing and has been replaced with new (different) SFX.
  10. Remove the gray casing from the A/V casing, it's just filler. Once you've removed it you'll have enough room to plug in your HDMI cable along with the A/V plug with its optical output.
  11. The entire EGM article has been scanned and posted here. In no surprise to anyone, the EGM writer displays his ignorance of the fighting genre several times. He describes "Ryu Dragon-Punching some cartoony half-octopus/half-nautilus monstrosity" (Shuma-Gorath) as a "misstep." IIRC, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter was very popular for its time and Marvel vs Capcom 2 still enjoys a legendary status in the US. He also asks Yoshinori Ono about Final Fight, it's too bad Ono didn't even work on Final Fight. That'd be like asking Shoji Kawamori if Scott Bernard ever found Rick Hunter.
  12. I'm just amazed at how slim fighter mode is! I honestly didn't think it was possible to make a YF-21 toy this streamlined. Major kudos to Yamato. I'm also glad that we haven't seen any de-limiter pics yet, I hope this feature was just a vicious rumor.
  13. That makes absolutely no sense, why is it called "IV" if it takes place before III? It would be as if The Phantom Menace was called Episode VII even though it precedes Episodes IV - VI. Sounds like Capcom of America is definitely at the helm of this release.
  14. So here we have a male character who is older and a potential badass. Therefore, according to Macross cliche', he will die.
  15. I remember Rosario Love once modded some 1/55 GBP armor so that it could be equipped in fighter mode. IIRC, the only problem was that you had to remove the armor during transformation. Now I wish I had saved the pics to my hard drive.
  16. Good move with swapping out the Hayabusa helmet. I love it when my opponents are decked out in the complete Hayabusa armor, it makes them easier to see, especially with that flashy Hayabusa helmet.
  17. I have to admit, these guys do look a lot better after they've been panel-lined.
  18. Finally! A 1/48 Virgin Road The custom decals are perfect and I do believe that is, currently, the only 1/48 VR in existance.
  19. Looks like Ryu's been hitting the juice in his old age But I do like the backgrounds and the attention to small details like his hair. Odd that they're bringing back Dhalsim after having him sit out SF III. I wonder if he's bulked up too.
  20. Just replace the d-pad from the 360 controller with the d-pad from the old S-type controller. It fits like a glove and now I've got no problems pulling off combos in Street Fighter.
  21. Heh, Microsoft still makes money off Silver memberships, you're still exposed to all the ads when you login. The really disappointing thing is that paid Gold memberships still have to put up with ads. Doesn't really affect me though, after spending years online I've become pretty good at tuning out ads, I can't even remember a single ad I've seen on Live. Nor one that's made me want to actually click on it.
  22. Looking great! No need to feel rushed, Ryuji. The more time you spend on detail the better
  23. Part of the problem is that there are some people who bought a Core set, thus no hard drive. What I don't get is why don't the games' programmers write some logic code for the game to search for a hard drive. If a hard drive is found, begin cacheing game data. If no hard drive is found (or if the hard drive is full), use RAM exclusively. My only guess as to why they don't go this route is that it might double the time it takes to beta test the whole game.
  24. Like I said above, translating Yahoo JP auctions and making them accessible to Ebay'ers isn't going to do squat when the translation reads "WILL NOT SHIP OUTSIDE OF JAPAN"
  25. I wouldn't sweat it Theoretically, using the HD-DVD add on drive should make your 360 get even hotter since it draws its power from the 360 and not some other power outlet. Plus, it's not a small drive so you won't be saving much shelf space either, might as well get a dedicated $100 HD-DVD player. The only reason I'd consider getting the 360 HD-DVD drive would be to connect it to my pc, but right now I don't have any reason too.
