I wouldn't even bother including the acrobatic team, the animation in that scene is some of the worst in the entire series and to the best of my knowledge there's no published colored line art for them either. It would be like trying to create some logical line art from Macross' AnimeFriend episodes.

The PlayStation 3 Thread 80GB Edition
TheLoneWolf replied to Gaijin's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
They're definitely making up for part of the system cost through controllers. Good thing my old PS2 controller to USB adapter works perfectly on the PS3. Take that Sony! -
The PlayStation 3 Thread 80GB Edition

Same here. The wireless technology naturally increases the cost, but not to level of $55. My guess is: because they can. Controllers are probably the only accessories that sells themselves, so why not gouge the customer for all they're worth. -
Are you sure that's official? From what I heard, Palladium came up with the name "Squires."

Sad but true.

I'd say it's approximately got a 1/100 body with 1/88 arms & legs. My numbers probably aren't accurate since I don't have one with me at the moment, but the limbs look out of proportion when compared to the body. The Regults will probably be bigger than Kaiyodo's initial VF-1's (as they should be), but I don't think they'll be perfectly matched up to scale since the VF-1 itself isn't set to any scale.

Yes!! Definitely getting the Destroid!! I'll wait for reviews on the weathered VF-1S, need to make sure the weathering doesn't smeer off ala the low vis.

That's what I heard too. Maybe the VF-1 Revoltech's sold well enough in Japan alone to warrant more Macross mecha? If these are confirmed releases, then I'll probably choose them over Yamato's GNU's. True, the hinges and joints are more pronounced in Revoltechs, but the the trade off is a wider assortment dynamic poses. Second, they just cost less.

High Definition Media & Technology Thread

That's DRM for you. I wouldn't have any problems purchasing DLC if I knew I could make backups of the videos that I've purchased or watch it on another machine located elsewhere in my place. While it's possible that I could still accidentally crush a physical disc just as well, at least I'd have the option of buying a used replacement copy at a store or even buying/trading one from a friend. -
Here's a picture of the latest character Guile, if you keep making that face it may freeze like that forever.
-
Full internal skeletons? Now that is interesting.

For a non-transformable mecha, the sculpt is average. The posability appears to be slightly above average, but nowhere near the Revoltechs. It's a good effort on Yamato's part, but I would've been more excited if we didn't already have transforming versions of these toys.

That would be glorious.

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
TheLoneWolf replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Since this line is going to be cheaper than the 1/48's I can see Yamato milking the D mold with the orange and Virgin Road variants. -
I don't like the way the characters look, but I'm still going to play it because gameplay is what counts foremost. If the gameplay sucks, then the SF EX series will have some new company in the dumpster.

With Yamato? I'd say it's guaranteed.

Way too early for this thread.

1/55 Bandai VF-1S Strike Valk question re. heat shield

Sephiroth's right. Just checked both my heatshields: one is plain black and the other has a sticker on it. -

I'm pretty sure that mine has the skull & crossbones painted on. When I get home I'll check. -
Good catch! The next time Mikimoto appears at a US convention someone should ask him.

If you're familiar with HTML, the viewzoom directory is the place where Yamato's website stores all of its high res images. Within this directory are also images that the public website lists as "Coming Soon," meaning that we (the public) are not supposed to be seeing these images yet. charger69 is linking directly to those images in his post. If Yamato's webmaster notices that these images are getting dozens of hits despite the fact that they're not listed publically, he or she may restrict direct linking to that folder, thus depriving us of high-res sneak peaks in the future. Rather than linking directly to Yamato's viewzoom directory, it'd be a better idea to include them as attachments within a post.

Is there a public link for those images you posted? Or did you find them by browsing the viewzoom directory?

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
TheLoneWolf replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm also hoping that the Strike set also includes an extra tip so that we can change it to Super armor if we want. While these 1/60 toys look great, I'll definitely wait for the 3rd or 4th release. In addition to having all the kinks worked out by then, I'm in no rush to buy more VF-1's after dropping money on the 1/48's and the old 1/60 line. -
There's probably a good reason for that.

Mine also came with stickers, I'm looking at them right now. They're sealed in the same plastic bag that contains the instructions. Unlike misterryno's, my stickers have been placed in front of the instructions. His may be behind the instructions or even placed inside the booklet.
