They should just remake the Alphas and Beta into a mospeada line of Legiouss and Tread. Fix all the problems with the diecast ones and make good plastic ones that can withstand stress and not have floppy limbs. Price these at alternator levels and everyone will re-buy. So easy for them to double dip.

Even with the gut I am still going to get one for the simple fact that I want a 1/72 replacement. Yep they are pricey no arguments there.. But I intend to get the full mac + line to replace the 1/72 one. Bought the Monster, the Qrau, and skipped all the 1/60 vf1 so I have spare money

Great pics. Now all we need is an image of the bottom in fighter: just have the "feet" flat to the ground with the nose pointing up so we can see underneath and see how the gunpod hangs off the arms and how the crotch piece folds up while in that mode for clearance etc *throws 1/72 in the bin* Clear eye camera window like what they did with the megazone 23 Garland. I'm still planning on getting that (almost forgot with all the macross stuff)

they are from Nightmareb4macross thread with pics: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...topic=17964&hl= makes 'em look more lika'dis:

Minmay becomes a porn star in that comic? Coool!

Hopefully someone can provide custom made beefy ones if they don't make slightly-enlarged, tough manly ones..

So what do you guys think: should I get vf0S second release, hoping I get an improved one, or wait for the upcoming VF0A? So tempting eh? Still want to hear from more people who bought a first 0S and buying a second release to see if they can highlight any kind of changes between the two.. (might be that you had your box opened, somebody put thier first release in your box as an exchange and the person who opened the box took the second release for themself and gave you thiers Anyway it would help especially for those who buy from ebay type people and want to know if there are any tell tale signs between them so you don't get tricked and know what to look for..)

They only needed about 1 year supply didn't they? (once they realised how long it would take to get back to earth) They got supplies from civilian shelters + supplies from mars base + lots of dead fish that would have been frozen in space + whatever they could grow on the sdf1. (they had trees and stuff too didn't they?) And once they reached earth after a year, resupply again. If it got desperate they could GM food to grow quicker using all the tricks they got from reverse engineering OT. I think what macross needs is worker robots that do all the work and don't need to be fed food. (the janitors and robot vending machines are early example) The humans can then consume less and all become pilots. As things get more desperate the option to become a cyborg is offered, and people eventually become robots with thier only organ left being thier brains encased in a mechanical exterior (it would actually be promoted as the trendy thing to do) to withstand harsher environments on other planets as they are forced off the ship. The earth government told the families of the survivors on the sdf1 that they were dead and anti un guerillas killed them all. So it might be an option used. I'm thinking eventually they will be like the transformers: humans will forget about using the actual brain and have thier whole personality inside as bits and bytes and then become 100% robots. Cyber brain would replace thier organic one and they can think and work faster. Then they add variable modes to thier mechanical body and just become like the autobots. Has anyone read that comic Rogue Trooper? Yeah like that: have soldiers whose experience is inside a microchip and all the dead guys live inside the gear. Or maybe they could have a combination of megazone and the matrix? The people that are fat and eat all the food stores up too quickly will be forced to enter into sleep mode: and then the government hooks them up into a dream like CG world where they believe they are living thier life as normal. When they finally wake up, the war is over and they can eat as normal? Kinda like world of warcraft addicts? (just kidding)

Dont forget to buy GBP side parts for all your valks too!
-
Yeah its possible. Or maybe it will just come out suddenly as a surprise like koenig monster with no one expecting it and no hype before release?
-
Same here. I like to think of it this way: if it was bandai making a chunky monkey toy of the 19 we would probably see a nice battroid mode and fat fighter mode. With yamato I can live with fighter mode first (that is the machine is a fighter that turns into a robot rather than the other way around) and battroid second. In my vision of the valks in macross, it is a skinny mecha designed for speed so it has a feminine look compared to the destroids and stuff. Things like the bubble hands from the tv series were only drawn so the artists had an easy time drawing it. (some of the shots of the battroid look deformed too, like they have a chunky munkey body) But the DYRL hands that are slim and can slide into the sleeve, although looking less beefy, are more what a TF machine would look like. I can accept a skinny mecha everytime when I think of it in this way. (rather than thinking of battroid first) I hope for skinny stuff like the vf11 they actually beef it up a little though. I'm not as big a fan of this mecha in battroid as I am in fighter mode.
-
Yep I agree: make seperate two pieces for hip. Is it too late? The shoulders pieces in battroid would look cool if you could pose/angle them like the chunky bandai vf17. (you can have them straight or slightly raised up) But yeah it's looking just like the CAD pic. So nobody could sneak a profile of the fighter? Looks like we got to wait for the magazines then? (hopefully they find a way to show mid-transformation pic too so we can see the "guts" of whats going on inside)
-
I'm looking at page 83 of macross design works and it seems the gunpod is able to be stored behind the shield in battroid mode. Will there be a mechanism for this on the toy so you can have it's gunpod attached to the inside of the shield like in the lineart?
-
Thanks for the pics. Geez about time eh? Looks just as I imagined it would look based on the cad: skinny from the front, but chunky at the sides.
-
Maybe what they should do is make high quality stand and sell that seperate? And in its place, include FP with the valks? I don't really need the stand anyway as I want to place mine in battroid mode most of the time anyway.
-
Drifand those are why I like to collect toys and have matching scales. Great poses. The robots look like they are alive and in the middle of actually doing something rather than parked in the typical "standing up straight" pose. For the koenig monster I have mine in an agressive "arms pointing forward and forearms angled outwards from the chest" stance. What it does is it makes the monster look like he is actually aiming at something in front of him rather than relaxed at the hips all the time. Totally changes the impression of the mecha from one that just sits on its butt all the time, to one that actively moves around and wants to kill stuff. It now looks like the glaug with arms stretched forward. It's all in how you rotate the shoulder so its arms can be "opened outwards" like it is about to do a bear hug and "hands" pointing towards something to make it look agressive. The arms don't sit so low at the hips this way and the monster looks like it wants to put the arms at "eye level" to shoot. Changes the look dramatically imo. Once in a while I like to change the position of the legs because there is lot of articulation in them, but once I get a good pose I leave it stuck in that one pose for months. Someone made a post about how if yamato remade the 1/60 and improved on them they might be acceptable to the newer macross collector who just jumped on late and bought 1/48 because that's all that anyone kept talking about. If they did it, I would buy more 1/60, since I like matching scale, and missed out on them. Just to have them together with a vf0, qrau and other 1/60 toys.
-
Sell your 1/72. You probably won't need them imo. If the 1/60 macross plus version doesn't get made, hopefully a company that gets the license in future will make a great 19 FP. Banpresto or Toynami perhaps? Just kidding
-
The dual gunpods sit somewhere on the belly even without the fast packs on yf21. (I actually posted some lineart a few pages back both with and without the FP) I'm not sure how it will work for the toy though..Maybe they will use magnets or something?.. edit: page with yf21 belly lineart (shows both gunpods with FP and without FP): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...ic=19382&st=840 So unlike the 1/72 hopefully they find some way to have them there without FP..

Official Transformers Super Thread 3
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to zeo-mare's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Ass-y actually protected hotrod in the movie from SS laser fire. I think she might be a little like princess leia. And there were token black guy and token asian ninja robots in the series too. I definately remember a ninja robot in the series somewhere. Note the buns on the head? -
I just thought to myself: I can imagine that the sharpener is really a massive fast pack.

ok I think our definition of huge varies depending on how much each person thinks a product goes from being worth it, to being "overpriced". There was a poster saying that such and such is overpriced and comparing it with other transforming toys and implying that the 1/48 are overpriced, so "how do you afford to buy them?" The logic is that if they can buy similar toys (like masterpiece grade stuff) at cheaper price (about 1 third) then "what makes these 1/48 one so much more expensive and special? Where do people get thier cash from to afford this stuff? Aren't you just denying that you are getting ass-reamed?" My explanation is that people who own so many are not the average fan. But I reason that if you bought even 1 1/48, you are saying that "I can afford it. I will pay it. And as a fan of it, I will pay the price for one. Because I bought one, this shows the company I think it is worth leaving the price that high and it becomes a standard for how much they should sell for". (as opposed to someone who boycotts something completely choosing to not buy it at all. Unless the price is reduced, like what happened with the toynami mpc. When you bought one at the standard price they go for, you paid it at what this poster was saying was "overpriced") Now I agree with you about the collectors who do buy huge amounts at a time, (in the triple digits) and that these are the minority and that you aren't like them. Just saying that a fan that has put lots of money into the hobby (like $1500) is no different from say, a person who decided he wants to upgrade his computer, home theatre system, car, whatever... to pay for the toys because this is his passion. To them buying a macross toy (which happens to be more expensive than other transforming toys of its level of complexity and quality) is no different from people who pour huge amounts of money into other expensive hobbies. I think with the flood of yamato releases, it has caused some outsiders to think that everyone buy these things as an "impulse purchase" like you would collect normal action figures. "Ok I will buy a stick of chewing gum at the store, cigarettes and beer, some spare batteries and....ooooo that valk looks nice, I might get a case of these as well". This is not true as (I'm speaking only for myself here) it is still possible to have a good collection (in double digits) if you had saved up for over a long period instead of dumping a huge wad of cash in a lump sum in a small space of time. The fan is as likely to do that as they would with any other expensive hobby so to me it isn't unusual. (whether they realise they are paying a *HUGE price or not.) *The definition of huge varies that's why I hate having this argument. (what's a lot of money to some is spare change to others) For me "HUGE" = paying $1000 for a chunky munkey out of fear there was no other alternative and that you wanted one badly enough to pay for it. (and not because you were rich, and that $1000 was nothing to you, but more because you wanted it and couldn't find it cheaper. Macross toys may have been harder to find for some in the past and they really wouldn't mind paying more than what it is actually worth to avoid the hassle of searching for years) I'm not singling you out, just offering an explanation as to why someone would actually do it: that is, fork over $1000 for a toy that is not "worth" that much. (they did not buy huge amounts of the toy. The single toy cost a huge amount) Fans may create thier own percieved value of what something is worth that differs from the masses. But the golden rule for me is that "people pay what they believe it is worth to them personally". I don't want to criticise sellers who say:"Make me an offer" any more than sellers who price match to the lowest that is available because those sellers who say "make me an offer" might be perfectly justified in forcing the price of the item up that they are selling out of the typical price range of the average buyer and wants to make some money from it. The average buyer might cry: "That is overpriced you rip off merchant!" but if the buyer who paid that amount was perfectly comfortable to pay it, you can't say the seller is "an idiot", "stupid" or ripping average buyers off. Maybe he was not aiming for the average buyer to begin with? Which is where I come to the conclusion that "people pay what something is worth to them personally" regardless of if it really is a rip off price to an outsider. (ie an outsider looking at them as hunks of plastic no different from other hunks of plastic in other toy lines) A fan might know it is overpriced (early adopters buy imported game systems at massive cost to thier pocket just to avoid massive delay in having one for exmaple) but to them to have the convenience topersonally own that thing when they want it, (no waiting 5 years or 6 months or whatever for prices to drop) outweighs the cost to have it. ($1000 is a lot of money. But this is offset by "personal fan worth" to own that thing which varies from person to person) Low vis I is a perfect example. It was "normal cost" when released. (what it was actually worth to normal people, not fan or collector) It shot up in value due to being rare. And now people who can't get the LV I (who are NOT collectors) may be forced to pay a huge amount if they want it that badly, and not for "completist" reasons, but more that they just like it alot. (similar to graham saying that chunky munkey used to cost in the $1000 at one point, and being ridulous amount to noobs like myself) Yeah. I hope neova gives us an update on this. see here: http://www.geocities.com/valken_exs/ I want to get a 0S with stiffer joints. (assuming the changes have been made to be noticable enough) But I also want to hold off on a purchase until I hear from people who bought one to say: "yeah there is a significant difference to make a distinction between the old and newer ones and the swivel joints are at 1/48 levels of goodness."
-
it gets shot with paintballs. And the monster gets blown up by that heavy weapon too. So much disrespect for the old mecha.
-
big f: Ahaha I had a bootleg version of that with a pencil sharpener on the back.
-
They might also be able to chuck in ...er.. a vf-4 I saw ..er.. hanging around in the background somewhere but it was kinda sorta hidden. I swear it was there.. no really... jk
-
..maybe optional side parts to hide arms in fighter mode... (maybe have the 21 designed so that the arms are detachable on the toy, and somehow create space for these parts to cover up gaps if they can't do it without the need for seperate pieces) There are already nightmareb4macross VF0 side parts: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...opic=17964&st=0 When or if they get to the vf0S reactive armor, I imagine there would be official ones like em. (and then people will complain that all their non-reactive-armored VF0 without these side pieces feel inadequete and that all vf0 future vf0 should include side covers jk)
