If they ever get around to making a toy regult I hope they make the legs ejectable too. hehe Remember that episode where the regult just ejects the leg and flies off into space? I never expected that it could just do that. I'm not even sure if that was canon: Because then what would be the point of the regult running back into the carrier (shown in early episode of the tv series) if they could just fly off by themselves like that? (reminds me of the dodgy episode with roy flying out of the earth atmpsphere without any kind of booster)

just checked: (movie edition) all limbs were there, then the ghost blasts off three of them. A big firey explosion then covers the yf21, we see it fall into darkness with all limbs blown off (not fully but at about half length), does his cheeky grin, and then...he ejects all the limbs, (what's left of the limbs hanging off the 21 as it falls and spins) proceeds to transform into fighter and you know the rest.. 1. remains of the limbs still hanging off the body after ghost blew about half of each limb off: 2. limbs being ejected simultaneously (not merely falling or dropping off): When you see this part of the sequence, pay attention to how they are violently pushed away. 3. limbs fully detached from the yf21 after ejection: ^now all limbs are cleanly off, not with part of it still attached like after being shot by the ghost. ..just after this he transforms into fighter mode. If the limbs are useless: why not shed some weight and use that to your advantage? Hikaru does something similar in SDF:Macross when he ejects the arms of his VF1S after using up all his ammo and just before landing on earth in the rain of death episode. I love endings where mecha get wrecked and smashed!

I agree with everything said. It is not underated but considered a modern classic pc title. I've actually still got it installed on my pc right now!

If the removable one looks better and more detailed, then I'd go for that.

What I want is for the legs to be detachable even IF it is PT. Because in the show guld ejects them to take out the ghost. Because it is allowed to be able to do it. I think it would be a neat gimmick.

What Are The Best Animes?
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to GutsAndCasca's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Watch Patlabor and all the UC gundam. Good stuff. Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo also great shows. (lots of twists and interesting single ep stories) If you are going to like bubblegum crisis realise that the older one kicks the newer one's ass. I just finished watching megazone OVAs again. If you like the bikes in mospeada and the themes in the matrix, then this might interest you. It makes me want a Yamato hargun. "Wop wop wop wop wop!" (still makes me laugh my ass off when it makes that transforming sound) Oh yeah I liked the kenshin OVA's too. I stopped watching anime a little after the mid 90s and so I'm far behind all the otakus on this board who have probably seen everything. -

http://fantofan.jp/news/event/charahobby2006/rSANY0035.jpg My suggestion: What they could do is make the hip kibble detachable. You can then get a cleaner character SS with no kibble at all. I don't think I could go back to the ankle mess of the original though. -

I don't know whether to laugh or shudder in fear. wolf duuuude, sorry if I'm going to offend japanese perverts with a lolita complex, but even you have to see there is something wrong there. I mean Megatron is about to rape a little kid.. come on. I can accept him as a destroyer and conqueror, but a child molestor? I bet all japanese TF fans are so embarassed now.. (pink boxes where they hide the actual main toy, way overpriced alternators at BT prices, and characters that want to do human children) It's actually common in japan. So boosting sales amongst the fans of it is good business sense. But as I said Japan = wierd. (not surprising to me if TF isn't doing well. Desperate measures..) -
Prime hopefully will act like the prime in the cartoon. I can't image a prime different to the one in G1. If the movie was going to be 100% cg action movie like the recent final fantasy movie I think it would be pleasing to fans. But it looks like they want a mainstream movie for people who probably wouldn't even be familiar with the characters. (going the reimagining route) Scary looking robots, alien invasion theme of them coming to earth, humans taking up all the time, no respect for the original looks etc Ideally here is what I would have wanted if I was in control: make a CG movie aimed at fans with the accurate G1 look, with epic story spanning multiple generations of transformers on different worlds going on simultaneously and the focus is on a small group of the autobots within the grand scheme of things. (it would be like the star wars of TF in CG) It would be set in the 80s earth time, but other planet would be involved as well so there would not be time to really care about what the humans are doing. (we are just background scenary - the autobots came to earth and we are the primitive life that once in a while needs protecting but no direct involvement between fighting) Al transformation would be roughly 2 seconds long, and fights would involve transforming in combat. So prime would ram into things in truck mode, do his "boost-jumping and transforming into robot mode" move and flip in the air to kill stuff like in the animated movie. Fights would have the style unique to the characters, and people would die and stuff and get damaged. I mean the whole thing is a war movie and that's why we are there watching. There would be all kinds of robot violence but nothing that wasn't already touched on in the animated movie. (ie people being lowered into a melting pot, insecticons getting squashed to death, robots being executed etc)

Lucky! Post a gallery now or when it is built and stuff. Now there is something to put on the site about it.

1/48+fp's, 1/60, And 1/72 Picture Gallery Pt 2
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to VF-18S Hornet's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
That looks very cool. If yamato make that scheme for a future non-canon VF22S I'm so getting one. I do think though that a grey gunpod would have looked a bit better. -
I hope not. Man if they could just get to 1/48 sitffness... I wonder if the CF sells more than the 0S due to the scheme?

Ah nevermind. Must be me. When I originally saw the image and tried to save it, it was a massive file size. It must be something I did when I "saved as" and chose bmp accidently, because it was saved as a bmp. I thought that maybe it was a bitmap originally. doh My bad. (my connection was really slow last night so I might have been trying to save the image incomplete thinking it was large image. Sometimes I also accidently double post when the connection goes slow or the images are not 100% complete yet)

thanks for taking out time to post that. Good to hear the garland is problem free too. Will it self destruct one day and something cracks I wonder.. (I'm pretty paranoid eh?)

making them a .jpg, would make them much quicker to load.(with little loss in quality) Phew! I feel sorry for the dial uppers waiting for a 2.5 meg image to load. Finally saved all the images for later viewing. edit: *Drool* Can't wait to see this with markings. I had another dream that I owned one. So do the wings droop down like the 1/72? What are these other gimmicks graham is hiding from us? Can someone list all the things they can think of?

The thing for me though is I like the smaller scale valk better in some areas like the arms and nose. (it doesn't have the bulbous canopy) And in other things the larger scale is better than the smaller. For me if larger scale means more detail, than sure. But in terms of things like proportions (check the lineart of the fighter mode and compare the nose) bigger doesn't necessarily mean more accurate imo. Here's what I think they should do: bring out the new improved vf1 in 1/60 for the 25th anniversary and then release vf-4 in 1/60. (has similar looking parts to the vf1 )

I'm still deciding on 0S or 0A. Still waiting for more impressions on people who have later 0S and any probs they might still be having. Scream post up some pics of these pins so I know what to expect when I finally decide to go 0S over 0A. (the low vis scheme is making me lean towards 0A right now.. but I feel like getting S based on impressions of late releases - "should I wait or get one now?" I'm wondering) List of things: -later releases of GBP versus earlier releases (any improvement?) -later releases of 0 line vs earlier (any change? like feet or anything?) -later release of garland (have yamato found way to strengthen shoulder?)
-
Maybe they'll just change it to that if enough people make a noise about it. (like the lime green gbp)
-
They need to make a CG Binaltech/Alternator cartoon already imo.

Ghost In The Shell Toys And Models
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Looks very cool. Is it diecast or is it just that the paintjob is just shiny? But what I want even more than Gits mecha is Appleseed mecha. Ahh I can hear wallets crying in agony all over the place from here.- 256 replies

Official Transformers Super Thread 3
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to zeo-mare's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm usually not a fan of kibble (makes the robot modes look really ugly, especially stuff like the open doors hanging off the backs of the autobots) but I prefer the kibble near the midsection for poseability reasons and tend to not go for robots with kibble near the ankles and around the legs. I think the argument against the hib kibble is more that it no longer makes starscream appear like the toon starscream more than the fact that it (the kibble) is there. (but in toon land all kinds of crazy poo hapens that is impossible in 3d - like disapearing parts and stuff) Had SS retained the original prototype look people wouldn't be so pissed and easily forgive the kibble for being there. I think the best robot mode transformations are ones where all the parts are tightly held close together on the robots with not much hanging off the body. I have an issue with alternator primes shoulders for example. But like other TF with stuff tucked away neatly in a compact form. -
Autobots wage thier battle to ..destroy the evil... ...forces of..... ...the decepticons!! The transformers..more than meets the eye! The transformers...Robots in Disguise!!! ^ I want a human character to sing that song in the movie. Just like what they did for spiderman 2 when that chinese lady sang the old 60s spiderman cartoon theme song.

Rogue zentradi are probably the faction that split after living with humans post SWI and wanting to return as warriors again after getting sick of minmay's songs. This is when minmay's career went down the toilet and she was forced to get into porn videos as new more shocking ways to paralyse the zentradi. No longer was the minmay attack just a song and dance they needed minmay to provide much longer distractions for the future missions the military would need her for. As the rogue zentradi learned from human civilisation, (ie see episode where kamjin repairs the damaged ship) they increasingly became more independant of humans and found ways to make clones to act as spies. The roy you saw was in fact one of the many spies the rogue zentradi scientists created in a lab to learn of any new developments in weapons. What better way to steal our technology then to have a person who flies the secret weapons as a test pilot? The problem: Roy died from loss of blood in that last mission against the zentradi grunts right? Wrong. We never saw the funeral: just roy collapsing to the ground. And three holes in his back. That could have been alien markings from an abduction. Like Ivanov, (who everyone thought was dead) it might be that his body mysteriously disapeared and the zentradi may have had spies aboard the ship to take it for study and swapping it with another body. When the rogue zentradi realised thier best pilots could be beaten by mere humans, they decided to abduct humans and clone them for thier own purposes. I think Zombie Roy is one of the Z Rogues' secret projects ie like the Kira Yamato thing in gundam seed. Roy never died since we never saw his dead body in the series and macross was meant to go on for longer than 36 eps. But if the humans believed Roy is dead, wouldn't his return shock them and he can't test planes anymore? Well I will get to this: If you notice the treatment the UNG gave to all the people aboard the macross late in the tv series, you will notice they told the public that all the people were dead and killed by anti-un guerillas and that the civilians on board can't see thier family on earth because then the earth people would know the government lied and cause a riot. The same thing happened here: Clone Roy was given all the necessary cover by the rogue zentradi spies aboard the SDF1 to pass as the one that was injured/died (cover story was made about him wanting to fake the death) and he continued to test new technology without his family or friends knowing about him. The military decided from now on, Roy would have to remain "dead" so the anti-un and any rogue-Zentradi would'nt have any advantage in knowing about him and any future fighters due to things that happened in the past from Mac zero and Ivanov managing to steal thier ideas. (military not even realising this Roy was already a clone made by the aliens and spying on them) It's a complicated story eh? (yeah this is joke post, never read the robotech stories only the novels)

Ok so it is not a case of whether the reimagining is good or bad but that it doesn't follow the toon? It's kind of like the BSG or the X-men movie thing I guess: There are just some people who want the comic book version or the cartoon version of something for identification reasons. When wolverine ditched the yellow spandex it was breaking the norm and offends the fan of the character. Same thing when the robots didn't have thier electronic-sounding voices from the original BSG. So I use that same logic here: it might be good despite not being faithful to the characters in the cartoons. In a way I like to think of the TF as being more machine than people even though they act like humans. The whole look of them in these pics suggest they are going for more mechanical feel to the alien. In some parts I'm glad it doesn't follow the cartoon: for example the mass shifting, and that megatron isn't a tiny little handgun, but in others I'm worried it won't keep the characters likeable. But I hope that when the robots fight they get wrecked and smash and all kinds of stuff that you wouldn't see in a cartoon. I mean it makes it easy to understand visually when a robot's arm doesn't work or move properly when you can see the mechanical pieces not functioning instead of hidden behind armor plates or just being knocked back and never dying. (there was no detail in how something is damaged in toon land) I hope they don't make all the robots too scary though: the humans after all have to be the ones to help the autobots right? And if they are too scary to approach, we are not going to care for a machine that looks mean all the time. (optimus shouldn't have flames imo because he is the calm leader, that is more like something hotrod would have because he is reckless and stuff)
