Might not be the best thread to post this but today I took out my Arcadia VF-1S Hikaru out of storage and noticed that it had turned brown where the pieces were cut from the runners and where two pieces join (i.e. the two leg halves) but not on other surfaces of the toy. I‘m curious what that is (is it actually yellowing?) and now I’m anxious to pull my Renewals out of storage.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Scyla replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Still watching Spy x Family and it still good. This week’s episode gave an outlook into the next phases of operation Strix (while volume 8 of the manga is currently taking a break from that). In the meantime I’m at episode 42 of „That time I got reincarnated as a Slime“ It has some of the overpowered Isekai hero tropes but most of the drama is resolved by keeping a clear head, discussing topics without leaving important things out, having boardroom meeting (the opposite of all the tropes that usually would lead to an escalation in other shows). It is also hysterical that the protagonist is surrounded by various different flavors of anime simpletons. It made me realize how difficult it is to actually write drama convincingly into any kind of media without relying on manufactured conflicts: usually you can solve things peacefully and fast by talking things out and being reasonable and compassionated. -

Testshot of HasLab Star Saber: Source: https://news.tfw2005.com/2022/05/13/transformers-haslab-victory-saber-first-look-video-456012 Those are large chunks of (white) plastic. On the upside this means he will have a lot more paint applications than MP Stat Saber. That makes me happy.- 17372 replies

I don’t know if I would call it that. Everything that made up the tank was a set of removable tank treads and a gun. I would say it had a box mode with add-ons.- 9325 replies

I’m torn on the Lego Optimus. It Looks really nice but I don’t have any attachment to the red and blue. I want it in black and teal. Which they probably never do. Sure I could get the instructions ans build my own but some pieces might not be available in the correct color (like red chest windows) and I would rely on someone else to produce either a sticker sheet or custom print the pieces like the Decepticon logo. It is not impossible but so inconvenient compared to buying a boy in a store.

BSF‘s review of Hannibal the FansToys Cerebros: I have no interest in the Fortress Maximus since it is too big for my liking. However I’m getting the Headmaster since it seems nicely done.- 9325 replies

@M'Kyuun why I can’t deny that Hybrid Convoy looks like G1 Prime to MP-10 next to the current generation of heroic Autobot commanders I still have a soft spot for it. To me the super toon accurate toys, while impressive in their engineering, never feel like something could exist in real life. For the same reason I still prefer MP-10 over MP-44.- 9325 replies

Did they state somewhere how the transformation will work? Spring powered like the old Mask toys or more like converting a Transformer?

Got a couple of 3rd party bots. First Magic Square Optimus Prime V2. Of course in black and teal. Transformation is what you expect from a G1 cartoon accurate toy: crazy origami and fake parts. But those MS materials; yuck. I know it is the standard MS fare but somehow it is worse on this release. Especially truck mode won’t lock together well due to the flexible materials. A great handfeel it has not! Posability and playability in robot mode is great. I mean what other action figure can pull off such a pose convincingly: Other than that I got FT Chomp. If you like what FansToys is doing you will be liking this one even if I’m not enamored by the price. @mikeszekely ShowZ sent out my Star Blade so in roughly two weeks I can tell you how it compares to the other Star Saber toys out there.- 9325 replies

You need to detach the container from the support arm that brings the container up to the back of the Battroid-Mode not pull on the support arm to remove it from the fuselage like on the YF-30. Maybe you should also check if there was a change in the mold on Mirage that might prevent the container from being removed. I haven’t shipped mine yet so I can’t check that in person. In theory it should work like in the video @no3Ljm shared.

Maybe deceiving is too strong of a word but my first impression was that it is a cool pyramid set. And it took my a while to realize that is not a full pyramid. I could easily imagine that not well informed buyers of that said are expecting an fully realized pyramid and the pictures on Legos own site don’t help to prevent that impression. The accompanying text mentions that you need two sets though. Regarding the Optimus Prime set; I‘ve read that the eyes are painted so that is good. I think the problem is that the eye shape is too sharp for the blocky proportions of the toy. Maybe if the designer had gone for a more cartoony look (i.e. made them larger) it would have looked better.

You mean you like the half pyramid? I really don’t like the fact that it is only half of a pyramid. And the pictures are really deceiving like this one here:

The MGEX Strike Freedom looks great and the price is not too outrageous. Sadly I need to work on my backlog first

Nemesis Prime when? [edit:] The eye stickers look terrible. I really wish Lego would just print all the details on the collector releases. Ideally they would have created a new piece in the shape of the eye lenses to give the face more definition and character. I @M'Kyuun I think it is hard to do a G1 accurate Arcee well without copying the MMC OX to a certain extent. I have three of the MP Arcee molds (TT, FT and OX) and MMC Azalea is by far the best one.- 17372 replies

@tekering I still like Terraegis. Especially the way the front of the car slims down towards the waist in robot-mode. Shame that the legs are not more solid and the gray plastic could have used a painted finish.- 17372 replies

Rumors have it that the next G1 from Takara will be Trailbreaker: (image courtesy of TFW2005). I have MMC Terraegis for Trailbreaker and FT for Hoist so not really interested but I would be open for a yellow or blue one to have the mold in my collection.- 17372 replies

Arcadia, being a smaller toy manufacturer, always had delays in their products once in a while. Now with the pandemic even Bandai has now frequent delays for their products like the Metal Build Eva-00 or the Mirage VF-31AX. I think it is par for the course that Arcadia is having a more difficult time dealing with the ramifications of the pandemic. Especially when you have to switch factories since you don’t own them or train new workers since the one with experience are in quarantine.
