Is there anyone that is not disappointed that the tiger stripes aren’t running throughout Grimlock's body? I found it shocking that it is only on the lower legs.- 18229 replies

I’m looking forward to the Providence Gundam. Finally a new mold that is not a re-shell (like the Deathscythe Hell), a remold (like the Gold Frame) or a straight up repaint (like the Patchwork Crossbone). I wonder if it will be a regular release or a TWE. I think the last regular one was the Exia Revise. Makes me think that Bandai is shifting the majority of MB releases to be TWEs for an unknown reason. Maybe for preventing scalping, over production, over saturation? But probably only the over production part really concerns Bandai.

Nice Gunpla @anubis20! I never liked posing my Gunpla. Always something fell off and they often need stands to hold the up; especially the more elaborated designs.

Did Hasbro ever released a "regular" black Classified Baroness that was not locked behind a store exclusive motorcycle bundle?

I think the Arlong from the trailer emphasizes what is wrong with the visuals: many One Piece characters have a unique physique that don’t translate well to live action. It is just too odd. So either you tone that element down quite a bit and reimagine a lot about the world. Or, you go all out on the designs (which is probably too expensive for Netflix). At the moment the world depicted in the trailers sits somewhere in the middle. It looks super awkward.

Yeah I agree with you that the shown figures don’t male much sense to me. Still my fear was that they wouldn’t release any more Marvel characters since we had no new announcements recently. So even if they are not the figures I would want fist, I’m glad that they are continuing the line.

That Captain America will look awesome on my MvC shelf. And new Marvel releases mean that the hope is alive that the will complete the X-Men teams they started.

It seems like the Ultra Magnus took a lot of inspiration from the Masterpiece version. But the Studio Series heute one has a way better head sculpt.- 18229 replies

The Robosen Grimlock looks awesome. Even better than the MP Grimlock it seems to be based on. I can hardly comprehend that it automatically converts. I need to watch a video later.- 18229 replies

I’m a big fan of the character art on the front of the G1 boxes (probably an even a bigger fan than of the toys inside). Is there a nice coffee table book that compiles all the G1 box art as high quality prints?- 18229 replies

I find it odd that you can order the E.M.M.I. from HLJ. They didn’t list Samus and I had to go through Anime Export. Did they just decided not to carry her? I also find it odd that this robot is on the top of the sales charts at HL given that they never had Samus up for order.

Good review of Armada Optimus @mikeszekely. I wished the Hasbro designer would have given the Super Mode a more defined shape. As is, it looks like a still wrapped chocolate bar. No definition in the torso, shoulders and legs. It is uninteresting to look at. Also the designers of any Armada Optimus seem to be hell bent that he needs to have kibble coattails. FansHobby did the same with their release. I guess the whole toy is relatively accurate to the source material. I’m not a fan of the show, so having a toy that is less accurate but better looking is a bigger priority to me. I'm in for a Nemesis version, even with the trailer to have and increased play value. Still odd that FansHobby never did one.- 18229 replies

The Chosen Prime and FansHobby are continuing their TFCon exclusive like of repainted/remolded Euro G1 characters. This year they are doing a Stalker from Doubledealer: More pics and info over at TFW2005: https://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/fh-x-tcp-mp-19c-huntsman-tfcon-toronto-2023-exclusive.1250372/ Limited to 600 pieces, 210 CAD. I’m very tempted since we probably never gonna get a proper Stalker but on the other hand it just doesn’t look quite right.- 9500 replies

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in theaters summer 2023
Scyla replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think the ending followed the formula of Raiders, Crusade and Crystal Skull were the otherworldly element comes into play late in the movie in one scene. It would have made the movie more interesting when you diverted from the formula a bit more and it would be interesting seeing the scene at the end expanded. Maybe the problem with these movies is that they are too formulaic, so it is easy to compare them with previous (better?) iterations and sometimes it is an unfair comparison. While Dial of Destiny is not a bad movie (the Last Jedi is a really bad movie and a pretentious copy of Empire) it is not as good the first three movies. Maybe that is also the problem with Crystal Skull. Indy is now older, so maybe you should have adapted the story accordingly. Less bombastic action scenes and more archeological stuff and character studies (like working on his marriage). I’m older now too, so I would have appreciated that.- 355 replies

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in theaters summer 2023
Scyla replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just saw the movie in the theater and I quite liked it. However it is plagued with several tropes of modern movies: rehashing of old story threads, too long, too much action scenes, many scenes are too dark, lazy writing to resolve plot threads… I find it genuinely baffling that Disney could not find writers that don’t rely on those tropes but maybe that is how the current studio system works (I think I counted four writers credits which probably didn’t help).- 355 replies

I wonder why we don’t see any new Marvel announcements. I’m severely missing a Rogue in my collection and the teased Captain America is nowhere to be found. Could it be an issue with the licensor? They clearly still have a working relationship with Disney since they release more Star Wars figures so maybe keeping two licenses was too expensive?

I just wonder how either such decisions are made in big cooperations. It seems improbable that, for example, RiD Scourge's wrong color scheme slips to so many nets until production without someone noticing that this is not right. So they probably didn’t care that it is wrong, which indicates a lack of passion. Or maybe I’m reading too much into it. @JB0 Bishoujo Starscream looks good. I think the skin tone could be a shade darker and the while the design choice of using a bag as Starscream's wings is smart I think the sculpted on Nullrays are tad too much. They all look great so far (Bumblebee is my favorite I think) but I’m trying to abstain from this line and not buying my favorite characters. Plus I’m not too hot on Nemesis Primes expression and the figure is a convention exclusive. I don’t know if I could pass on a scientist Shockwave with an eyepatch though.- 18229 replies
