    Bandai DX VF-31

It seems like the VF-31 squadron has at least two different head turrets. The Valkyrie with the black trim and the one with the green trim have both two head lasers from what I could gather. I've got the impression that the head turret of the green one looks a bit like the VF-25F while the black one has a more VF-25S look going. Hopefully all the VF-31 squadron machines sport a different head design (loved that part about Frontier) I don't like the difference in the chest design between the VF-31 and YF-30. It looks to much like Frontier. Hopefully they kept the position of the cockpit from the YF-30 and not the placement of the YF-24 derivate. I'm looking forward for different armaments, add-on sets and weapon pod variants for the new Valkyries. Hopefully the Drakens are more of a Diamond/Emerald Force squadron because I don't want 6 Valkyries in my collection that look exactly the same. Two Drakens variants to cover all the variants are enough for me.
  2. Got my order confirmation for the Red Frame on amiami. Trying to order the backpack now. [edit:]Preordered the backpack too. Well, that was unexpected.
  3. I'm waiting for the preorders to open
  4. Release the Kraken.... ...I mean the Delta thread.
  5. A YF-23 with 172 ft wingspan? Bring it on.
  6. What exactly is the problem with the Super Parts on the VF-25S?
  7. Especially if the rumors are true that Aracadia doesn't have neither the SDF:M nor the DYRL license for PT 1/60 scale toys at the moment.
  8. So the preorders start on the 29th. Does anyone know the exact time? I assume it should be 4pm in Japan right?
  9. Yay I've got an order in. Such a pleasure preordering Arcadia products. Now lets wait for the preorders for Bandais Metal Build Red Frame.
  10. Since the VF-4G will be reissued my top picks would be a Yamato VF-11C for Macross and the entirety of Metal Build Gundam releases (mainly the Gundam 00 stuff and the 00 Raiser particularly). [edit:] after some thinking I decided to add the Konami Great Impact Gurren Lagann to the list. In addition I had to pass on the Riobot Gurren Lagann.
  11. When do the preorders for the Red Frame start?

That is weird. Please keep me/us update for more information. I myself had to pay upfront for the S.H.Figuarts Sailor Pluto after I preordered it day one (the invoice came a few month later). The same is true for the board members that ordered the S.H.Figuarts X Chogokin Hulkbuster from NY. I will wait and see what they say about the MB Astray Red Frame once orders are up and keep additional funds ready if I have to pay upfront.
  13. Even if I can't see the image right now I'm hyped.

Probably but be aware that you now have to pay for Tamashii Web Shop items upfront.
  15. Thanks for the images. If I'm interpreting the images correctly thant there are small struts simillar to the VF-0 that should bring the legs forward. In addtion there are two hinges that bring the legs forward into position under the secondary intakes. I agree with Veef that the concept is probably to fragile for a toy. However the swing bars in the ET one look also very small. Maybe it would have been better to derive from the original design. I was thinking of a mechanism similar to the crotch on the VF-25 toys. On the VF-2SS the whole section with the small fin on the underside could flip 180 degrees so that the hip rotation axis sits behind the nosecone. It wouldn't be line art accurate but I think the benefits would have been a clean underside in Fighter-Mode. In Battroid-Mode it wouldn't be showing since this part is covered by the wings. For the hip transformation to Gerwalk-Mode you could create an extending joint that brings the intakes down and than slide inside the intakes on an L-shaped track to bring them under the secondary intakes. This would probably result in a Fighter that is too bulky compared to the line art but I think the overall aesthetic would benefit from a bit more bulk. What do you think?
  16. Then shall we switch the topic? At the moment I'm trying to figure out how exactly the VF-2SS transformation is working with the help of the M³. Are there any other schematics on how it works. Or are there any videos on the transformation ins slow-motion? I know Veef did a review of the Bandai kit for CollectionDX (which is not PT) but I have a hard time finding more line-art and schematics. Did Studio Half Eye or another garage kit company release a transformable kit of the Valkyrie II? While trying to present constructive cirticism I got the idea that maybe the design wasn't as fleshed out as the Kawamori designs when it comes to transformation and that a real life transformation of the VF-2SS is impossible to achieve when trying to be line-art accurate. Looking at the transformation details it seems plausible but there might not be enough bulk in the main fuselage to hide the arms and the head turret. I also have to add that I like the design of Macross 2 main fighter much more than some of the designs in the other instances of Macross. Any input on how the transformation works is appreciated.
  17. Does anyone know the exact release date of Riobot Anubis? The deadline for my HLJ PW is near and I hope I can get him in my shipment. Also yay Riobot Anubis is coming: Glorious.
  18. I wouldn't say that. I think the problem is that they don't have much experience with a perfect transformation toy. It can be quite difficult to figure out what flies and what doesn't. Even Yamato and Bandai had to release a few sub par toys until they get it right. The impressions I got from listening to the Speaker Podcast was that ET is quite enthusiastic about the project. The companies can't be all like Takatoku Toys and get it right the first time around. However I have to say that market research should give them a good idea what a 2015/16 PT Valkyrie toy should look and feel like and what progress has been since the Chunky Monkey over the Yamato 1/72 Macross Plus Valkyries resulting in the Renewal Frontier Valkyries and the recent Arcadia toys. It also should give them directions where the price should be. For the asking price they should be able to offer an item of similar quality than the VF-25 Renewal toys.
  19. I think that: From what I've heard of JJ Abrams movies is that the usually contain a big story twist that they try to keep a secret so I don't take anything on the poster for given... ...does Rey has a red Lightsaber in her hands?
  20. Maybe that is a sign that the production of Macross Delta merchandise is in full swing and we won't get any more Frontier releases.
  21. The YF-30 came out great. It could have used some more tabs to hold together more solidly but it is in no way a VF-25 V1.
