  1. Yeah, and it makes for a killer toy. It's definitely not lineart accurate compared to Figueroa's design, but it's close enough. I know a group called Master Collectables made a far more accurate version of Nova Prime, but it was more expensive and only a few actually made it to production. As far as MMC's version is concerned, rumor has it that it may not even be made.
  2. Finally got some time to take a few pics of HyperNovae. Once I made sense of the transformation and got everything to lock together, it's a pretty solid toy. Paint apps are neat, plastic quality is superb and the material feels durable. Needless to say, with the wings on it gets top heavy, but I was able to get it to stand on its own in that fourth pic. Included were transparent orange parts that can be inserted into the wing recesses, but I haven't put them on yet. Also included were silver stickers that may be used instead of the orange parts. I still don't know if I should the stickers, the orangey bits, or both .
  3. Kawamori himself designed that thing. Despite the less than stellar alt mode, it's a pretty cool toy for its size.
  4. Need hot blooded motivation with a Japanese flavor? There's always the legend himself, Hotei Tomayasu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkIMBCKnSdw He's quite the talent, and do check out the translation.
  5. I see your Stan Bush, and raise you ANOTHER Stan Bush! When throwing that Dim Mak to a pit fighter's nuts, only one song should be coursing through your body: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYLOGDT4VEk This song always helps on the long drives home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKhfkfnbAMQ
  6. A few motivational songs. Love this guy: Good ol' Cheap Trick (and Tomcat porn!): More proof that Parker and Stone are lyrical geniuses:
  7. A tall order: U.S. military wants a T.A.L.O.S.
  8. Mine is this one; unashamedly sweet and syrupy: Since we're dealing with this era, here is my favorite rendition of THIS song; Sumner sings in a slightly more melodramatic fashion compared to the album cut:
  9. Sad news indeed, and he was only 66 years old. His books kept me company all those years ago when I was waiting to be picked up from school at the library. Many thanks Mr. Clancy.
  10. They can if TakaTomy never makes updated combiners, or an Arcee, or updated Shockwave, etc. I just wonder if MP Magnus will stick with the G1 formula of having a white Prime "core" or none at all. Heh, now this rejected storyboard from the movie can be recreated: Nevermind, we still don't have a MP Tracks .
  11. Dang, if it's gonna be anything to close to that artwork, it'll look so much better than any of the 3rd party offerings.
  12. I already bought one straight from Maketoys' website for slightly less than TFSource, and it arrived fairly quickly. I'd love to tinker around with it and take pics, but I'm still on vacation. My initial impression is that it looks exactly like the promo shots and it feels solid. What surprised me is that there is actually a "core" bot which is essentially a retooled RTS Prime. When I get back, I'll have to take some pics.
  13. They've also opened for Depeche Mode, which must be quite an honor. This is them doing the Game of Thrones theme :
  14. Like the 80's pop and electro/synth with a dark twist? Check out CHVRCHES, I'm really liking their sound:
  15. I think I'm warming up to FJ Prime. (The non-RC one, mind you) I like the sculpt, but if TakaTomy is gonna sell it as Prime, they could've at least made it in red and blue. Alternity Prime was in red, why not have the same thing for this FJ? I could easily see it as being some other rugged Autobot though, Roadbuster perhaps?
  16. Maketoys is now taking orders for their Nova Prime at their website. I'm still on the fence with this one considering the price, but it is pretty...
  17. There's no school like the old school. Still kicking myself for missing out on these beauties.
  18. Thanks, that definitely cleared some things up. I'd like to get a new Yamato, and after looking at numerous pics, I'm leaning towards the GX-57 with its slightly stylized and more pronounced bow section. But I'll standby and see exactly what the new Yamato will offer.
  19. Quick question, for someone looking to upgrade from their beloved BPX-01, what's the difference between the GX-57 and the GX-64? And I would be soooo down for an in-scale version of the dimensional "submarine" that stalks the Yamato.
  20. It's no surprise that a 3rd party would make shoulder launchers for the upcoming Datsun MPs, but Dr. Wu seems to be going all out with their versions.
  21. I've finally seen the new deluxe Generations hitting the local Targets, unfortunately Megatron is nowhere to be found. Bumblee's design looks great and if a red repaint is ever made a la Cliffjumper, I will have to do a head swap and make it my Windcharger.
