1. Actually, the two storylines I was referring to are in FM4, where you are forced to follow the two different stories at different times. Kind of like chapters in a book. The two storylines in FM4 was, as many have said, user decision-based and, like, totally random. If I didn't talk to my friend to realise he was playing a different game, we never would've figured it out.
2. I just love the VF-9 Cutlass. I mean it. I think it's my favorite VF design.
3. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. I did a search and there are only about 15-20 active threads (threads replied to within the past 3 months) that use the terms "Official, Mega or Super" in the manner described. In essence creating a thred such as this is way to direct discussion of these subjects into one place. In some ways, I think the Mods should be thanking people who do this, because it gives them legitimate reasons to lock up redundant threads and keep the boards clean. I don't see any reason to limit or stop members from creating these threads as I've seen, from my search for the above words, that when a thread drops from interest, it simply drops of the radar. p.s.- I've always listed mine as "Un-Official" threads. So nyah!
4. While I do think FM4 stumbled in the storyline, I think it was still a fun game overall. In response to some of JBO's concerns- IIRC, the game has a small amount of characters in the first place, and is actually two storylines that kind of meet up at the end. So you pretty much field every unit you have in each battle. I agree that some promising additions were kind of lacking. But if they improve on those ideas in FM5, it could only get better. I just want a fun game with great wanzers and an engaging storyline. Here's to hoping something like that comes out stateside.
5. Ahem... I refer you to the last part of my reply, which is the 4th reply in the beginning of this thread: Seriously, this thread is pretty dumb. Sorry, Phlalanx, but it's true. The reason Japan does not make original military aircraft based on anime designs is because (besides getting past the lame idea factor) the costs of adapting a design done solely for visually pleasure, developing a working model, and then producing and maintaining a fleet, are much too astronomical to justify creating a plane in the first place in order to satisfy a whim based on visual aesthetics.
6. Yeah. EW lambasted the Academy for blovking out SWIII in the techinical categories and only being nominated for best make up. WTF, mate? Oh well.
7. And once again, Saving Private Ryan was robbed. We had the Oscars on. The wife did homework while I worked on a drawing. Clooney's speach was funny, and when Jon Stewart kept cracking up over the Original Song Award... that was classic. I guess I liked this year's Oscars because, moreso than usual, they awarded talent. Weisz' win for The Constant Gardener, Clooney in Syriana, etc. We were disappointed that Wallace and Gromet won out over Corpse Bride. W&G are fun, don't get me wrong, but for stop-motion animation, Corpse Bride was done much, much more skillfully.
8. I've always kept my hair fairly short since 1993. On or abouts 1999, I got a new set of plastic, black-rimmed, eyeglasses. I went out to The Plaza, my main watering hole back in Madison, and my friend, Adam, was completely drunk. He saw me with my short hair, and new black-rimmed eyeglasses and tried to say: "You look like the skinny Drew Carey!" Albeit, being sloshed, he actually said: "You look like the white Drew Carey!" End of story.
9. Any new on whether or not it will released in the U.S.?
10. I like how you start off with "Here's yet another good topic started by me phalanx..." Why doesn't Japan start producing and designing their own jets based off of anime? Well, most aircraft designs in anime are aredynamically unfeasible in the real world, and designers who put a lot of thought into their designs, like Kawamori, are at best, amateur aerodynamic engineers. The reasons are myriad and, in reality, the real question which would spark more discussion is: Why doesn't Japan produce their own original aircraft, primarily based off of actual designs seen in anime like macross or yukikaze?
11. I'd practice a bit on the placement of the iris'. All the characters look cross-eyed. Good pose, though.
12. Wes has hit on a point here. Licensing is a multi-tiered procedure and what a one company in the U.S. has to pay for a license will be completely different from a company in France or Singapore. Licensing is all about wheeling and dealing. So, if ODEX is a legit company and they do license a bunch of titles, maybe they are able to to bargain for these licences on the premise that, possibly being the only company in Singapore actually willing to pay a licensing fee, the original producers can either make a deal with them, or not get any money out of the rampant bootleggers.
13. I may be stupid, but didn't you guys have a website set up for this as well? I can't seem to find it, only the site for the Macross TC for the first Homeworld.
14. OK. I'm game. You know what would be a great idea? Taking it even further by requiring that the image submitted drawing be something new (ie- not something from your portfolio). This will help to generate interest in the fan art and will also push us artists to draw more. Every month, there will be a deadline for submissions which can be sent straight to a willing Moderator (>EXO<, for example). At the deadline, the Mod will create that month's poll/thread, loading each image up in it's own post. By having the Mod post the images, it will keep them un-named as an attempt to dissuade favoritism. To be fair, they will be posted in the order they were submitted to the Mod. Then a week or so of voting will begin to determine who will be the winner. Once voting is complete, the image is posted and the artists themselves can then open a thread and link to their image itself for general discussion. Two problems: 1) What if we have more fan art than available poll options? 2) What if there is no fan art for that month? Eh... just an idea.
15. Stand alone image of the colored Komilia. My wife likes this all by itself.
16. This is what the Flak Jacket accessories are for. Also, if I were the Bandai marketing manager, I'd probably release it in a different order. Alphonse goes out first, but then probably one of the construction labors after. I'd probably only release perhaps 6-7 of them in a year. This way, at least it keeps on the scene for about 3-4 years time, just like how the current GFF is doing. 373807 Ahhh... but when has Bandai ever released an accessory pack for their GFF line when they know they can make a customer buy the same package over and over again only to end up with 2-3 different mechs and a ton of leftover parts? A neat feature for the PFF line would be realistic weather sheaths over the joints. IE- Thin, tough, material that is actually creasing instead of being molded that way. 373986 If we're going to "dream" about "dream toys", then having accessories is my dream. 373997 Sadly enough for us consumers, it'll probably stay as a dream forever...

18. 1600x1200- PM me your e-mail addy. 1220x900- I knew I made a mistake!!! I flattened the damned thing before saving it! I'll need to recompile everything for a widescreen format for you. PM me your e-mail addy and give me a day or two.
19. You win the prize. Although I would put in some more labors, and scatter around the release numbers. You don't want to shoot your whole load at the beginning. Also, to keep with the GFF's plan for making people buy the same toy for different versions, you would have ceonversion PFF's as well. Patlabor Fix Figuration 0004: AV-X0 (AV-2) Type X-0 "Zero"/AV-0 Peacemaker (Zero) Patlabor Fix Figuration 0008: ARL-99 Helldiver/ALX-99 Helldiver Prototype/ARV-99 Rescue Labor Patlabor Fix Figuration 00xx: Asuka-MPL96 Taisyo (police version)/Asuka-SSL96 (commercial version) Patlabor Fix Figuration 00xx: MPL97AV-T Police Training Labor/AV-98T Dolphin Patlabor Fix Figuration 00xx: AV-98 Ingram Alphonse (2nd movie version)/AVS-98 Economy Patlabor Fix Figuration 00xx: Av-98 Ingram #2 (2nd movie version)/AV-98 Ingram #3 (2nd Movie Version) The list can go on for a quite a bit more. Patlabor provides us with quite a pool of mecha to choose from.
20. I don't know, but that is one fugly mecha design.
21. Is it going to be linked to the thread, or just the picture like it is now?
22. 2023-2040. VF-9 Cutlass. Dancing Skulls. The Algenicus! The period featured here in the mostly Max and Milia storyline is what I consider to be a much truer continuation of the Macross story. In the same vein as M+, as opposed to M7... which is fun, but completely different in feel than what I see as Macross.
23. IIRC- Way back in the day when a sub needed to make a speed dive, everyone not actually doing something were sent to the nose of the sub to put more weight in the front, hence to help the nose tip over and dive faster.
24. Bugger this crap. Go for the real Ultraviolet!!! It may have a shaky start at first, but by the middle of the second episode, you're hooked. I think it's the fifth episode where Idris Elba is locked in a warehouse at sunset with 6 or so "conatiners" which are about to open that had my wife and I on the edge of our seats almost screaming for him to find a way out. It's terribly exciting.
