1. All I've got is the 10meg RM version, which is pretty choppy.
2. Does anyone still have this lying around. I read above about a 70meg copy someone had. Would like to get my hands on it. I was DL'ing a large torrent file, but all the seeds went bye bye and now I'm screwed about 1/3 of the way through.
3. *cough* Mospaeda. And South Cross, if that walking tank mode can be considered "gerwalk". Coincidentally, all three parts of Robotech. *runs* 383448 But Macross did it first. Everything else is just imitation.
4. The GERWALK is the bomb. Although, in practice, it doesn't always work (VF-4, YF-21/VF-22). My favorite is the VF-9. In fact, the sheer coolness of the VF-9 GERWALK in conjuction with it's awesome fighter mode and, admittedly, kinda OK battroid mode make it one of the best designs after the original VF-1. Never has a GERWALK looked so much like predator as it does with the raised cockpit of the VF-9.
5. Danth, what program are you using to color it? If it's Photoshop, you can adjust the curves to make you black lines completely solid (you can probably do this with other programs as well). You still can if you did your colors on separate layers. That should tighten it up a bit.
6. I don't know. I was going to write a huge response about all the thoughts running through my head, but I decided: fart it. I'll just watch the show when it comes out and see whether or not I like it enough to keep tuning in.
7. I'd rather another game for the PS2. I'm happy with my PS2 and I really don't want to have to buy a PS3. I've go too many consoles already. Graham 382422 LIES! You can NEVER have too many! 382457 Yeah! Blasphemer! Now that the Dreamcast is fairly cheap, I'm actually thinking of getting one so I can play a few games again like Gundam Side Story and, of course, M3.
8. Fall of the Old Republic, Rise of the Empire, Fall of the Empire = Megaroad-01 The story is done, Lucas. Stop beating the dead horse and move on to something after RotJ.
9. And now you know the one of the reasons why most of us prefer the original to RT.
10. Skull-1... I think we may be trying something akin to "blind-voting". I'm sure once this month's winner has been announced (Lightning), someone will tell you which is who's. I can say this: Many of the pics seen here have their own threads in the Fan Art section already... if you're willing to look.
11. Wowza! Those things look damned nice! I can imagine they'd be pricey, but I could also imagine myself dropping a pretty penny for that Dougram. They can keep the Getter and Dante (as I'm not a fan) and I may spring for the Eva's. They look pretty detailed, considering they're only going to be about 5" high. Hmmmm... A Patlabor would look nice like this...
12. I guess my main problem with them is that they vaguely resemble the plane they're meant to represent. The ME-109 girl, especially. Sure, I can see the feeatures which make them the plane they are, but it's simply to subtle and/or confusing to be any good. TWDC's verdict: These suck.
13. "Deleter Softwares"? Please explain.
14. I jjust had to vote against myself for that Lightning. It rocks.
15. I kind of have to agree with The Duke here. FM3, albeit being graphically inferior to FM4, had a vastly more engrossing storyline. And, at least for me, the game presented quite a few challenges. I think my main beef with FM4 is that, IIRC, I only ever lost like 1 or 2 battles. It was simply very easy to get through. Plus, the characters weren't as likeable, either. While FM4 brought some neat innovations to the game, the storyline didn't live up to par.
16. Speaking of the VF-4, does anyone have the images of the non-Kawamori VF-4 Battroid design seen in some old Macross video game, before Kawamori went back and actually made a VF-4 Battroid?
17. The stand alone colored version of the VF-1SR is up now at my artwanted site.
18. Manga Studio... ... and is it any good?
19. Maybe in space it doesn't matter so much. The fast packs on the vf1 are ejected when entering an atmosphere so I imagine they might have some atmopheric version of those boosters with the cannon. Dude I really need to dig up that picture of the big ass Cannon that the vf11 was holding in macross 7 somewhere. Let's just say it was BIG! And about the wide look of the fighter mode, I always thought it suggested power but just in a different way, maybe that it can roll a little better in space because of it or something. There are other things that bother me: the Qrau should be dangerous because of how big the backpack is. What if it falls back? But who cares about safety in wartime? We are talking about a a series with a ship that transforms into a giant robot at the expense of squashing people into gooey mess after all. 379426 This may not be canon, but it may help (and plug my own artwork ): Regardless, the top-heavy argument was simply a response to one defender of the VF-2SS stating that the VF-4 was too top-heavy, yet not realising the very design he was defending was grossly top-heavy as well. In the end, it really does come down to personal taste. Every person, from myself to mr. march to seto to spacy to phalanx him/herself has their own criteria upon which they divine their opinions. Although I thoroughly enjoy this discussion, when people start getting bitter and petty in their responses, I do think that's the moment you should step back and think upon what you are so vehemently defending. Let's keep it fun and happy, boys and girls.
20. I can see why this is science fiction related, because we all know that Microsoft wouldn't have left so much open space even on the finished product in that video!!!
21. Now that I look at it, how the hell do the legs get from way out on the side of the fuselage in fighter mode to flush up against the nose in battroid mode? Personally, I think it's a nifty redesign of Kawamori's VF-1 (no matter what anyone says, it is no way an original design). The fighter mode blows chunks because it's too wide, whereas the fighter mode with SAP system looks like something neat and powerful. While I am not one to shy away fron fantastical designs, as I said before, I simply think the design itself doesn't fit into the Macross mythos.
22. While I do appreciate the design, it's not very "Macross" in it's visual aesthetics. Radd pretty much nailed it on the head in his earlier post- It's the VF-1 redefined in a sleaker form. For me, The VF-2 series is a step above the "valks with faces and/or boobs" atrocity that Kawamori gave us. While the Metal Siren wins the honor of the worst VF design ever seen in Macross.
23. Not the canards, the wings. 378095 Well I'll be a monkey's uncle!
24. Actually, the VF-9's cockpit is in roughly the same place as the VF-1. It doesn't have a heat shield, though. Instead, the two forward canards fold over the cockpit.
