  1. Strike packs have the beam cannon. Fast packs do not. The blue sheet has the water slide decals.
  2. It's usually at the discretion of the parent company, though (and this is the part that HG never mentions) a fan project could even potentially license the Star Trek/Robotech/Macross name for as little as $1 (again, parent company discretion) and the company would have done their duty to protect their trademark. Anyway, let's not sully this Kickstarter by bringing HG into this. I'm excited about this and plan on contributing!
  3. I suppose they can also claim that the kickstarter didn't fail, they only canceled it. Sorta like the old "you can't fire me, I quit!" line.
  4. I feel like he's being deliberately misleading there. Robotech video game rights are probably with WB, not necessarily Macross.
  5. What puzzles me is why HG even still cares about Robotech? It can't be THAT much of a profit maker. Most of their revenue comes from real estate investments anyhow. They could probably make more money off of dividends if they sold off their robotech assets and put whatever they got into a mutual fund. [sardonic quotes..]
  6. Even if there is, wouldn't it take a reasonable-minded person to listen?
  7. Re-release scheduled for October 2014. Pre-order up on Amiami: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=MED-DVD2-18509-S001&page=top
  8. Just gotta bridge themselves far enough along to put out the same crappy transfers in a blu ray box set.
  9. We need something to talk about now that the Robotech Kickstarter is ending!
  10. Side view from the OVA: Looks more like a gradient, which is not going to happen on a mass produced toy. I'm fine with the wavy edges. I'm fine with a straight line between the two colors as well.
  11. This may sound crass, but at this stage is Tommy and co. simply keeping the franchise going to maintain a steady paycheck?
  12. Sure, until the complaints start that the grey visor shell is too thick and isn't line art accurate
  13. Side note -- I just had a horrifying thought about this ship: I noticed that each "ship-gun" looks a lot like the SDF-1's energy cannons...how much of a stretch would it be to guess that they're going to say that this ship was made out of the cannons that Khyron sheared off in his attack? Wait, I probably shouldn't give them free ideas.
  14. Eventually HG is going to get outpaced by technology, so if the end doesn't come soon, it will eventually. Of course that's actually using logic. I could see HG putting out VHS tape collections when everyone else has moved on to DVD.
  15. How about just putting a grey colored sticker on the decal sheet that can be wrapped around the white visor? Sure, it's not ideal, but it's something...
  16. Last trademark registration of "Macross" and "Robotech" by HG was 2004. I believe trademark registration lasts 10 years. Since we're nearing the end of 2014, could this Kickstarter be the last gasp before HG drops the trademarks/brands as not financially viable? http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4805:ae3npq.2.3 http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4808:dgep25.2.9
  17. Purple grey, just like the takatoku armor, right?
  18. It's not the right shade. But... I'm ordering it anyway!
  19. I don't speak Japanese, but when I looked for alternates in google translate it sounded like he was saying the company was "delicately specific". I suppose that'd mean they were only working on molds that were guaranteed hits. I'm sure another forum member could translate what it actually says if they wanted to.
