  1. Yeah they need to reboot. I thought that after seeing the mess of Batman vs Superman and even more after Justice League. I keep reading rumors of the next Superman being cancelled. I guess they can make money on what they have in progress but it's time for them to really start thinking about a better film universe. And that means starting over. Also, if you like the Marvel Film Universe, it really makes you wonder why DC can't come up with something even half as good in terms of entertaining movies.
  2. Every figure? Or every Avenger? I'll probably have every Avenger. But not multiples. I won't get Hulkbuster. Probably not Quicksilver either.
  3. What's the easiest option 1999 or Amiami?
  4. As the pre-order madness for Bandai's Hikaru VF-1S is about to start, I wanted to start a wish list for what should be in the ultimate VF-1 valkyrie toy. I posted a few things in that Bandai topic and someone said it sounded like a wish / want thing so here is this topic. My list: 1. Small Minmay figure to fit in the Valkyrie's hand in Gerwalk mode. 2. Battle damage for Max's VF-1S. I remember reading the review on Anymoon and he said maybe they could go to a larger scale in the 30s. I think that scale should get a pretty good small Minmay figure.
  5. All I know is Rambo shot down a helicopter with a bow & arrow. Or maybe that was just in the old Sega Genesis game.
  6. I think I saved another one too from the old days of Anime Expo that I happened to find. But it's in an unsorted folder somewhere.
  7. Interesting but I bet the original games that the 198X ones are based on will still be better. Yozo Koshiro is listed in the music though so I might check that out for a listen.
  8. I'm geting the Endgame version. I actually thought Terrance Howard has multiple personalities. At least if you stumbled on that secret recording of him and according to the women that he seems to go off on from time to time. I think his best role that I've seen is as the town sheriff in that horror/sci-fi TV show that was cancelled. I have the Hot Toys Jedi Luke and it is the best Luke figure I've seen. I'm getting the upcoming Jedi Luke as well. Both are good options. I assume there is still the potential for a quarter scale Hot Toys Jedi Luke since they have a quarter scale Darth Vader and Boba Fett. But I'm going to stick to 1/6 I think. Hot Toys would have to make a quarter scale R2 to make me reconsider. The trick with the Avengers is to only get your favorite versions. If you want all of them then you are quickly talking about car money.
  9. SDF-1 cel that I saw which I think was posted in here as well.
  10. I just remember a big mess at Konami with both the Metal Gear and Castlevania series back then. Funding Bloodstained was the least I could do to see if Iga could make a really good if not his ultimate game. I'm not mad about the exclusive content really. But the situation isn't right. I read a few posts about how people might attempt a lawsuit. I'm just ready to see the stuff higher backers are supposed to receive. I don't want to hear about pre-orders and steelbooks. I backed at the signature level for pretty much the same reason. I've been playing the Castlevania games since the beginning.
  11. Well, I went 0 for 2 yesterday. I thought I would get a good chance at Max but they passed my $750 to maybe $800 limit before I could even get a chance to bid. I had to hold back money for the upcoming Bandai VF-1S versions coming out. Still those guys are serious. The auction kept getting extended too. That's probably stressful as hell to win something like that. I'm sure Mandarake has some kind of mailing list. Plus all those locations. People will probably go there first for animation stuff over a Yahoo Japan auction. As far as I could tell everything on the Max auction checked. I thought bidding between Rinkya users would just keep the Yahoo Auction going? Unless for example someone holds the high bid of say $200. Another Rinkya user bids $100 and Rinkya just says that is too low. Or the price on the Yahoo Japan auction goes up for someone with a higher limit when the maximum keeps getting tested. How does Rinkya handle the bidding war between two users in terms of auction time / time to up the bid? I have a feeling that many of the original backgrounds, since they are one of a kind, are kept in the higher end collections and were sold in the early days. Or kept by the people working in the studio. On occasion you see some cels with the matching background. The Animeigo guy sold a few Bubblegum Crash cels with the original background. But I've seen more non-matching copy backgrounds and matching copy backgrounds than the original painted backgrounds. I think there was a good SDF-1 cel and background that sold like in the last year or so. It was a scene with it in the lake. My memory might be bad though as one of my favorite scenes with the SDF-1 is in that lake during the snow I think. But that might have been something in the Robotech Art 1 book unless that was in the show as well. I need to watch it again. I'll search and see if I saved the image. Thanks. I wish I kept those old catalogs.
  12. Everytime I tried whiskey it was without ice. I'll check reviews of that Cali Sipping Whiskey. Maybe I'm just overly sensititve to that wood taste. The stuff is basically 50% alcohol that's been sitting in wood barrels. In the movies like Indiana Jones, North by Northwest, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, they drink that stuff like water. I know if you drink (forced to drink) a bottle of bourbon like in North by Northwest, no way will you even be able to drive. Chances are you'll be lucky to be alive.
  13. I believe the Bloodstained project was because Konami didn't want to take the risk on another 2D Castlevania type game. Even though they are big enough and profitable to take that risk. I think they said something along the lines of no one wanted that type of game anymore. Same sort of story for that Mighty Number 9 project from the guy that was actually the top of Capcom's game department. If anyone was in the position to make that sort of game at Capcom it was him. That's why I thought his Kickstarter was bs and didn't back that one. And of course Shenmue even though Sega probably couldn't fully handle the cost of that one. I think this period might have been the top of game Kickstarter hype with each project out doing the next in terms of funding amounts. I guess the thing is every single Kickstarter I've seen is setup like getting a product in exchange for money. Whether it's comics, books, games, toys, statues, etc. Even though they say pledge and not pre-order. People expect whatever item at the end of the time period and of course timely updates about the status of that project, which should not be too much to ask at all. I think when the $60 pledge amount with extras is so close to current retail prices. You have to assume that the majority of people giving money will think that will be the retail game price as well. From what I understand the poll about the exclusive content being available wasn't a backer only poll. I think the general public could take that poll as well. At least that's what I'm reading. I believe I took it but can barely remember it. But I'm sure I would have voted for the exclusive content to be released later. At the least as a timed exclusive for backers, say a month or so for backers to play before the general release, or in a complete edition released at a later date. Also, you can tell things aren't right as supposedly the guy from that update mentioned how there is a $10 value for the stretch goal prequel mini game Curse of the Moon. But that game was a goal for a funding level and reward for the money coming in. Now it's being used as part of the $60 which just isn't right. I guess I believe that if someone invests in a business or business project and is responsible for its success, then those people should be treated with respect and given something special in appreciation. If you invest in a restaurant and on opening day you aren't given a good seat, you are served late, and the food is cold. Then that isn't the way you treat someone responsible for your success. Yet if you see the average customer being served in a booth, quickly, and with hot food. Something is wrong with that picture. Many of these game Kickstarters that I've seen show a priority to the general audience when the game releases. Like the people who Kickstarted aren't as important as the early reviewers, retailers, etc. But there wouldn't be a game without that Kickstarter. Still companies treat the Kickstarter as a way to get money and then go to a company with proof and say we got this much money and this many people, now you can support us the rest of the way. And of course that company will get the priority over the fans that Kickstarted the game to begin with. With the steelbook, they are nice. I get a few on occasion. But my whole goal with Bloodstained is to have the signed version with the Ayami Kojima and Yoshitaka Amano artwork displayed. I don't see myself needing that steelbook as I bet Ayami Kojima's work will be better. I hope they will show the slipcase artwork or even some work in progress concepts as soon as possible though. If they really go though with selling the 800 steelbooks to go around between 64,867 backers, that is not going to end well. It will be like Mondo posters and make matters even worse. They need to show that slipcase and make it embossed, shiny, or something special.
  14. I just wanted the one Hikaru and Misa in valkyrie sketch. We'll see what shows up on ebay. I don't know how many American buyers will want sketches with the Japanese notes. If these went to Mandarake I assume separately they would really get a lot of money like those sketches in the last page. I just saw this Minmay on ebay and I swear it was on Yahoo Japan some weeks back. It's being sold by "saraliso." Also for the guy who posted about Rinkya, I saw this notice on an auction via Rinkya. "Bidding against a Rinkya bidder." So they tell you that you are competing against someone else on Rinkya. Whether that helps or not who knows?
  15. I don't know how many people here backed Bloodstained Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter. It's kind of retro I guess as it's from the guy who produced the recent 2D Castlevania games and I think two of those so so kind of bad 3D ones. Anyway, I was pleased with the Bloodstained Kickstarter. I still am a bit. But there is some controversy that just started if you check the recent update and comments: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night/posts/2515461 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night/comments Of course, they are hyping the normal release and pre-order for the game. Turns out the game will cost $39.99. And some people who backed it at $60 are upset. To make matters worse, the "exclusive backer-only content" as posted in the original campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night/description Is no longer exclusive to backers as you can purchase it for $9.99. And even worse than that, the Kickstarter at $60 comes with a "Kickstarter exclusive slipcase" which hasn't been shown yet. However if you pre-order at Best Buy you can get a free steelbook. So some people are pissed because backers at $60 that helped make the game possible are most likely getting less for their money than the average consumer. No more exclusive content. And a steelbook that at best will be better than a slipcase unless they really surprise us. For me, I always assume that the really popular Kickstarters will get normal releases anyway. And exclusive downloadable content will be in some kind of complete final re-release. So if I do Kickstarter, it's because I can get something special out of it that a normal release won't get. I wanted to help with this one after the mess at Konami as well. I backed at a bit higher level and I'm looking forward to the package. But almost as expected, we will only probably get just the game on launch day. All the other stuff still hasn't been shown and no ship date given yet. Yoshitaka Amano is working on a poster that was delayed as mentioned in that update post. But it wouldn't surprise me if they sell that separately in the future as well. I think it might be time for a lot of people / consumers out there to stop promoting Kickstarters from big or even small to medium sized companies. These companies shouldn't be passing risk to consumers or using Kickstarter as a gauge for whether or not to release a product. I've read the excuses that backing on Kickstarter isn't the same as pre-ordering a product. But the majority of these Kickstarters that I've seen promise items for pledge amounts. They don't say if you give "x" amount you might or if you are lucky will get this item. I'm disgusted by that Saber Rider game Kickstarter, that luckily I didn't back as the people behind it have completely disappeared with the money without releasing the game at all. We'll see how Bloodstained turns out. I hope the slipcase isn't some generic thing that says "Kickstarter exclusive" and hopefully the larger, more expensive packages are well done and displayable items.
  16. What kind of whiskey? The whiskey and bourbon that I've tried might smell nice but they all taste like wood from the barrels. I sold mine but kept the head and red jet as I thought those were the cooler vehicles. I did like the idea of the three combined teams though. But the robot was way to unstable for me.
  17. Well that got out of hand fast. https://www.rinkya.com/en/auction-q290978949 I guess they've started on this one and it's going to get really high in the coming hours. I believe this is because of those sketches. If I'm right the Misa TV cels are from that final episode scene with Hikaru and Minmay. I remember not to long ago seeing another cel in this sequence but with Hikaru and Minmay plus the background. I'm pretty sure that didn't even break $1000. So much for me trying to sneak a win out of this auction though.
  18. Do you have any other old catalogs from back then? Like Nikaku Animart or US Renditions that you can scan and post? Also I'm curious about the quality of Macek’s cel gallery, did you ever see anything from his collection? If he had cels with backgrounds from Southern Cross and Mospeada? Well it's not like sniping does any good on Yahoo Japan. These won't have a true ending time with the 5 minute extended time for people that are curious about the maximum bid. It will be night time when these end. I guess everyone will be home and ready to go.
  19. Sakura doesn't look tough enough for me. I'm hoping with the new Streets of Rage game coming out that someone will make a good figure of Blaze.
  20. That's an amazing commerical with good casting. They should make at least one full episode to see how it works out. No wonder a Brazilian company is making this statue diorama of the group.
  21. I hope Bandai is reading this topic and will make a small Minmay to fit in the valkyrie's hand. Also a battle damaged VF-1S for Max.
  22. I watched episode 3 because I wanted to see the performance of the actress who plays Michael after the twist of episode 2. Then I watched some more clips of stuff including that Picard teaser trailer. I want to see a good Star Trek movie or TV show. I don't really care which. But it should feel like Star Trek. It seems like since Deep Space Nine, the people in charge have been trying to show a more problematic Star Trek Universe. I don't know why either. They have that Mirror Universe if they want to show a darker Earth. And apparently there is a good twist in Discovery with that Mirror Universe. But even that in the clips I watched it doesn't really come off like Star Trek. Maybe there are so many space shows that it's difficult for Star Trek? Or maybe Star Trek just isn't good enough anymore or the people writing it aren't coming up with good ideas. If you look at shows on Syfy like Killjoys and Dark Matter, both of which I still have to finish. I find those enjoyable and even worth owning more than any of the recent Star Trek shows since Deep Space Nine plus all the movies starting with Generations.
  23. I found Discovery online. I watched the first episode and thought it wasn't that bad at first. I liked the intro, some of which was in the original trailer that made me think the show would be good. I like the two lead actresses and their performance. I immediately thought that this is the new movie universe and not the original Kirk TV universe though. But I was willing to let that go if the show turned out to be good. Then I got to the end of the first episode and had to watch the second episode to see how things would work out. This is stuff that we've seen in those new movies. I thought Discovery would be about discovery and new worlds like the Original Series and Next Generation. But this is more war stuff. And I was even more disappointed by the ending of the second episode and the teaser for later episodes. But I was still a bit curious as maybe there would be something to latch on to. So I checked the wiki and read about all of the episodes in Season 1 and 2. Had a bit of a double take on a new type of engine. Then looked at a few clips with the Enterprise. And no this show isn't for me. If they want to make a future looking Star Trek maybe they should go more into the future? Or if they are so obsessed in thinking that people are only interested in Kirk or around that timeline, maybe they should make it retro looking with just a bit more effort put into the designs. Because this is really a mess now. I guess a plus is that I never watched all of the original series. So I can watch that and the versions with updated effects. Also there is Next Generation that I can rewatch in HD. Perhaps two good series and a few original series movies is enough for me. I still have the old Star Trek PC game to finish. Plus I like the SNES Next Generation game. That will probably conclude my Star Trek collection.
  24. Damn, VF-1S happened way faster than I thought. But that's what I was looking forward to so I'm in.
