  1. Seems this is a bad Kickstarter. The game hasn't come out. The person running the Kickstarter has disappeared and hasn't updated the Kickstarter or Twitter for almost a year. There are all kinds of bad comments being posted. The game was transferred to another company for release but they want nothing to do with the people that ran the Kickstarter and also have backed away. I don't know how this company that was making the game could get the license if they weren't good enough to make the game.
  2. That Kickstarter story sounds crazy. Pretty striking how bad this whole Southern Cross thing went. Hopefully no one uses it as a measure of demand for Southern Cross. What they showed didn't generate enough excitement from me and I love Southern Cross. As much as I want a hovertank, it wasn't going to be that one if they continued the plan.
  3. I thought there were screensavers for just about anything back then. Few were on the Internet. And even then most weren't downloading a lot of stuff and going to FTP sites. I remember going to places like Software Etc, Babbages, and Egghead and getting screensavers. I had a Star Trek one. Maybe two as I remember original and Next Generation images. I think one of those messed up the fonts. There were many environment ones. I had a Kinkade screensaver and a few others I'm trying to remember.
  4. Now this has me excited far more than that Episode 9 trailer. There is a rough trailer going around too. I assume a clear version will be out tomorrow if not soon. I was never the biggest Boba Fett fan. I didn't think his death was a big deal. And he did come back in the comic that might turn out to be a better story line than the new sequel movies. But this reminds me of Rogue One, which is a good thing. I don't like that the Clone Wars guy is involved as for every good episode there seemed to be two or three if not more bad ones. I stopped watching Clone Wars and only checked out a few episodes for specific characters. His Ahsoka death episode and bs press pissed me off. But with Favreau involved I bet this will be good. There is a cool shot of that IG-88 type robot which makes him look bad ass. I remember watching Empire as a kid and thinking that there must be something dangerous about that robot.
  5. Don't get excited about that. It's just another JJ trick of let me show you a good image to most likely hide a poor to so so movie. It's the same as the Enterprise on Earth shot in the Star Trek reboot. It would be funny if this Death Star shot isn't even in the movie. If it was just made for exciting fans in a trailer. I like Rogue One and didn't watch any of the trailers before seeing the movie. I watched the trailer afterwards and there is a cool shot of a TIE Fighter and Jyn that isn't in the movie at all. I only watched this latest Star Wars trailer because I'm basically out on the series but still a bit curious what it might bring. I'm still not seeing it in theaters. And the teaser trailer didn't do much of anything to excite me. I'm just not attached to these characters after two movies. And for guessing sake, if the Emperor is involved in this then that's the second Death Star. Honestly those old clone Emperor stories from that old comic are sounding pretty good now. I remember how people thought a clone Emperor would ruin Vader's redemption in Return of the Jedi. Of course those people didn't realize that we would get the prequels, these sequels, and all kinds of other spinoff cartoons.
  6. With modern technology and ebay you can create good anime bootlegs and sell them almost without a problem. Ebay doesn't care as I've seen tons of anime bootlegs. In the old days, just getting two VHS machines to make copies was a big deal. And of course the quality would be poor from VHS. Dangaio episode 2 was one of the first bootlegs I remember seeing and it was grainy as hell. Most would consider it unwatchable these days.
  7. I played Super R-Type probably at the height of my shooter game skills. I'm playing Super Hang-On 3D on 3DS now and it's kicking my butt. I'm on the second to last difficulty but you can barely mess up to win and I used to beat the Genesis version easily. Somewhere I read that Pulstar was a copy of R-Type, that's why I was curious. But these days you have to be careful with bootlegs and "reproductions." I've heard of them for some PC Engine games like Dracula X. But I'm not into that many rare and expensive older games. I'm always surprised how some games that I don't remember being that good go for a lot of money.
  8. Are you trying to buy it? It's probably easier to create your own from Bubblegum Crisis images these days. I remember I had an older screensaver program during the Windows 95 upgrade period and somehow that old program did something to make all my fonts disappear. That Crash cel ended at $36. A steal if you like Crash. I wonder if he will go through with the sale? That's why it pays to know what you are selling and list it with the right words to get the majority of buyers. I've seen terrible cels that aren't pan cels without backgrounds on sale for far more than $36.
  9. Perhaps that's why I like Super R-Type so much in that is wasn't hard. I know I never finished R-Type in the arcade originally. The first level was easy. The second so so. I probably barely made it past the third level. And I never remember making past the fourth level. I know I had R-Type on the Sega Master System and never finished it as well. With this R-Type talk has anyone played Pulstar? I can't remember if I mentioned it before. I think I mentioned Viewpoint. Pulstar is expensive on Neo Geo as it was only released in Japan. But it's a game I still kind of want to get. At least it's on my list. I liked the intro when I saw it back in the day. Checking ebay I guess there are bootleg versions of Gley Lancer. If you guys pick up when the official re-release goes on sale post it here. I watched some gameplay and it looks pretty good.
  10. I don't like the face on that one. But the water gun concept is cool. I would like to see more attempt that sort of thing.
  11. I guess to me originally bootleg toys (and items like VHS anime) were bad and obviously bootlegs. This is coming from someone seeing bootlegs back in the 80s and 90s. This "3rd Party" thing being a new term in toys to me was surprising. Someone in another topic called them 3P I think and I was searching around the Internet and webshops looking for this "3P" company not knowing what they were. And I guess I didn't see many of them as bootlegs since they seem to be quality toys. And toys that the licensed company isn't making or sometimes better than what the origin company is making. But you are right in that no license means bootleg no matter how good. But I guess I'm partial a good quality item as long as the origin company isn't making it. I have a few bootleg or fan videogames and I'm ok with it because the companies that should be making those games aren't.
  12. Here is the Japanese Blu-ray release along with an image from a member here who has it. I hope we'll get something at least close to this. I got the old DVD set off ebay fairly cheap because it didn't have the mousepad which I didn't need. But that set had posters in each DVD. Along with a case to hold all three DVDs. That case will be easy but I'm looking forward to see the artwork that he uses. If it will be a new commission or not. Also, if he manages to make posters, I would like a poster of each version of Eve singing. Here is the cel I missed. I thought it would be an easy win but I was wrong. I'll get the next one I hope.
  13. Put me in the list of those that have never heard of that one either. I still own Gaiares though. I believe I posted before where I'm still stuck. I'll search for more information on Gley Lancer this weekend. I might have to get that one. I'll look into those. My overall favorite shooter is Axelay on SNES. I don't think anything will ever top that for me.
  14. I know, I just edited the post for clarity. I meant that I didn't know the character above with the monoliths. I wouldn't drop that much on Mai or any other figure without knowing who she is. Plus I have Neo Geo Fatal Fury Special and one of the King of the Fighters games to make a nice display. I just saw a Sonico figure with a water gun that looks ok. I don't know the character at all though.
  15. Well if that's what they are then perhaps none of us should have been excited about this project. I don't know. I'm just getting into 3rd Party Transformers and I'm seeing some good toys out of those companies. I guess there is a difference between straight bootlegging and a true 3rd Party just unlicensed attempt. Or maybe it's a gray area.
  16. I don't know if it was Animeigo but I still have that screensaver in a box somewhere. The Crash cel is still at $26. Unless there are lurkers waiting till the last minute someone is going to get a really good deal. Maybe he should start putting "cel" in the listing.
  17. I guess I missed that announcement. But I can't remember finishing the original R-Type. I'm going to get some version of it one day. I remember posting that R-Type short cartoon here a while back. The SNES Super R-Type is probably my favorite. I wasn't crazy about it at first either. But that new trailer got me excited. I still haven't played that fan version that I have saved. I think Sega shut that one down. And it was after people were having fun playing the game. Stuff like that is why I'm not really fond of Sega that much anymore.
  18. This guy has an odd sense of humor. But I've purchased many of his projects since I was a kid. I just got into Megazone 23 so I'm really excited about the extras he puts together more than anything else. He continues to make better and better Kickstarters since Bubblegum Crisis OVA, which I will continue to say is a shame. But Megazone 23 will be the true test of making an Ultimate Edition. If it is on the level of the "Explosive Edition" of Gunsmith Cats. Then he'll have my money and we'll be in for something special. I'm also curious to see if he has any cels from Megazone 23 that he will auction. He seemed to auction the good Bubblegum Crash cels recently. I missed winning a good Megazone 23 Part 1 cel and background in the last month or so. I didn't think there would be that much interest but I was wrong.
  19. Lame to get us excited, show those images, and then say absolutely nothing. Not a good way at all to keep customers.
  20. I don't even know who the character above is. But I just pre-ordered Mai from Kinetiquettes.
  21. The prototype of Dana from the other company looked better. I'll wait to see how that one looks painted and then I guess get one of them. I would prefer a painted scale figure or even better a Hot Toys figure. But no way is Hot Toys going to make Robotech figures.
