  1. I woke up at night with a bunch of GU-11's pointing at my face, none of them said a word, they just stood there aiming down on me. I pleaded with them and told them I was going to Ikea on Saturday. . .they paused for a moment. . . transformed into Gerwalk and left. Damn Stick Bernard stayed behind though on his bike as a Recon scout. He's been there everynight since. . .just watching. Hope he leaves Saturday.
  2. Thanks for those pics it clearly shows you can get level flight and the height that's possible. More gundam stands and another round of EXO's adapters are getting ordered after my detolfs. So hard to stop buying valks in order to buy display cases.
  3. Anyone have any intel on this? I've seen pictures posted of it on their display at a convention two years ago but haven't seen any updated release dates.
  4. The Zentradi fighter jets or any enemy mecha would be nice. I always thought a Diorama with enemy mecha being studied like an R/D wing would be bad ass. Reality is its a business though, although the collectors would buy the enemy, I don't know if the overall sales would be there to compensate for the creation of the line. On another note, does anyone see a reissue of Max's VF1J on the horizon for next year? I think they would scream off the shelves like the super strike parts did.
  5. When I selected the shapeways link in your thread it showed mospeada figures of stick, yellow, and fluke. Also, can you display the VF-1 using the adaptor with the gunpod attached? Just asking because I haven't seen any displayed with the gun pod that are level. Also with these stands, we will all now have a use for those extra UN SPACY decals on the sheets of our Yamato Valks
  6. can you get the valk to be even/level in flight or does it have to be tilted one way or the other? Also, checked out your link, the mospeada sets would be great with Legioss and Tread sets.
  7. Both of My SSP parts came today. The stickers don't come with the "armament" sticker that should be applied to the cannon or the missile tube. Other than that, they are very, very tight. The missiles lock in so solid its hard to get them off the wing pylon.
  8. Anyone gotten an email? Wondering if these are going to get pushed back like the Cavaliers did.
  9. I have 9 or 10 of these and have never experienced a crack or damage to a VF. I'm wondering if perhaps there was a different formulation in a certain run of the tips that has since filtered out. All of mine were purchased in the last 3-4 months.
  10. my question is do you think they will produce enough of them? I'm asking based on the context of the scarce nature they were in leading up to this. I hope there are enough for us to avoid not getting the ones we pre ordered.
  11. be cool if they released it in the blue color that was shown on the model in Hikaru's room in DYRL.
  12. I have a question, this is the first time I've ordered on HLJ. Do you choose the pay with paypal or do you choose the paypal billing agreement option? Just want to know which is the best way not to get shut out of getting these.if someone could give me the standard experience/way the preorder and purchase through HLJ goes, I'd appreciate it. I preordered 2 and chose paypal.
  13. I think the exhaust looks fine without the ports, The Q- Rau's always had a Raw feel and look to them, and the wide open exhaust it has now looks more brute. This is a piece to keep and will go down in macross mod legend I'm sure.
  14. We need enemy mecha and soldiers.
  15. I have a DYRL pilot, I'd trade for the TV pilot you have. There is light paint (gray) on the pilot suit I painted to try to make it more conventional but I'm not a good painter at that small of scale. Just let me know. PM for details. Project looks cool.
  16. can you please add me to the list, sorry to jump in so late....I'm new.
  17. I used Tamiya spray paint, bare metal aluminum, and then used 2000 grit sandpaper to get the dull, shine, streak finish of wear.
  18. No problem at all, this is the forum for ideas, people on here are all cool.
  19. It does look better dirty. I think 2000 grit did a good job getting the shine and dull areas of weathering we saw on the airfields. It's hard to see in the picture though due to the color of the paint.
  20. I'm still learning and have never done weathering, but I noticed using 2000 grit sandpaper works well for the darkened/dirt look. I'll bang it up with some mud and blood for sure. The tail art is the same as the art on the backpack in Battroid. Its the werewolf marine squadron, I just made them on sticker paper on my inkjet.
  21. I'd like to paint a VF1 in a custom scheme I've been thinking. If I can not locate one of the assembled unpainted kits (most I see are unassembled) I was thinking of picking up a cannon fodder VF1 because their low cost and painting it. My question for those of you who are elite at this is (because I'm smart enough to be humble) Do I need to to do any prep on the paint or will the custom colors go over the brown? If not is sanding with 200 grit an option like a car? Or would I be better off to pick up one of the lower cost version 2 DYRL VF1A's as they are white and would that be easier to custom paint?
  22. I'll second that. I'm a very new member who really enjoys macross but am not a master at it. I found this site and it seemed to be a great source to tether all the releases, models, and tips together, but I haven't posted like I've wanted to do because I don't want to get blasted from some die hard fan. Its a shame the culture of the conversations seem to be eroding into a yahoo like chat room instead of a great resource for fans. Great fans should share and help other fans not blast them.
