Because it would be stupid to take a $200 valkyrie w/ armor and turn it into a cheesy looking knock-off. I know the Jetfire is legit but it's basically a bootleg. I like Jetfire's with the nostalgia and all, but I much rather have the real thing or the type of custom's the pro's are making here.

My friend got the GBP a few days ago. It didn't seem to have any problems staying together. The legs also stayed on just fine but I can see where they might fall off if you try to spread the legs apart too much. Overall, I thought it looked great except for the hands. They are bigger than the valks head! I forgot I had a little money in my paypal account so I used it to buy myself a set from ve.com. I think this is the only chance we are going to see the GBP. A 1/48 version would require a lot of designing and would be very heavy. It would be very expensive as well and there are no variants to increase sells. However, it would be pretty cool to have a huge, fully armored valkyrie with tons of details.

That would be one tricky decal since it covers the entire back and wings of the plane. I think it would be easier to mask and paint something like that.

Wow, wow, wow. That is one awesome custom. It has to be tough to hand over works of art like that.

I prefer the current system but a non-transformable version would of worked since you can only display the gbp in one mode. However, that would mean Yamato would have to design another toy. Then, they would have to go through all the variants... again. It's time to move on.

I sure hope this isn't true.....but you're probably right. I would bet he is right. The voice acting could use a little work but the scenes were tight. Lucas will probably put some Ewoks in the film or something to piss off fans.

If he sold each piece individually, he would have a much easier time selling that stuff and make top dollar.

Isn't the new movie like a prequel? I don't remember much from PB (I thought it was ok) except Riddick escapes the planet with someone.

I've only watched the DVD version - no subtitles - and it does look like ep 4 is the weakest chapter so far. However, I am still really enjoying the series. Maybe it's shallow, but I just love looking at the art and animation. It is simply the best I have ever seen. The story seems good enough IMO - not the best, but not the worst either. I agree that the story could speed up a little but I guess that might rocket up the production costs.

Just a word of warning, some of those gunk removals can damage or weaken plastics. I have not had any such problems if you don't count an experiment with a graffiti removal spray and a jetfire wing. That stuff ate plastic like it was lunch.

I don't know if Yamato made any improvements to the FP version, but the original that I have is the worse Yamato ever IMO. I cannot display mine in any mode except fighter. I won't go into all the problems I had with it because I don't have the time. However, it looks like the VF-0S will soon take the worst-ever crown in the near future. At least the YF-21 looks pretty good in all modes regardless of stability.

Yamato needs to make this toy. I think it will appeal to not only Macross fans, but all sci-fi/transformer fans. I just hope the price is not more than a 1/48. Yamato also needs to come out with a better yf-19 toy but that is a different story. I think the regular 1/60 Monster would be a mistake. A lot of people would like to own one but few would pay the cost. Those that do buy it, would sell them after a while because they would have no room for it.

Is it me or do they seem to run condom and male enhancement commercials all the time? It's a cable channel but I still find it annoying. I like more gaming shows but it seems like their target audience dropped 10 years or so after the merger.

Thanks for the small review, Graham. I am a little disappointed that pieces pop off easily but I guess that is expected. I plan on getting one but will wait to find a good deal. I also recently became a father and need to watch my spending. It's going to be tough with the Toynami Alpha's and all the new Alternators.

Gas is still cheap. Milk and even bottle water costs more than a gallon of gas. People overseas pay almost the same for one liter than we do for a gallon. One gallon is like 3.8 liters. Do the math. Water is the primary emission from a internal combustion engine? Say what? There are some water vapors but carbon dioxide is the main result. The water you see spitting out of the exhaust in the mornings is result of condensation in the exhaust. High gas prices is good for a lot of people who work in oil related industries but bad for everyone else. Low gas prices also prevent alternative fuels and more efficient cars from being developed. Also, one of the biggest problems with alternative fuel is not the technology but the delivery system. There is a huge oil pipeline infrastructure that can't just be switched over to something else.

I'm worried about the same thing. If they can't get the toy friendly design VF-0 right (there are swingarms in the anime for crying out loud), the SV-51 doesn't have a chance. I don't care about the paint job - just paint it gray. I suppose I wouldn't be bothered by all the parts if it did look good in fighter mode. I thought that was Yamato's trademark. It sounds like very few among us are going to buy this thing. I hope Yamato understands why and doesn't do a Bandai by thinking Macross is dead. Yamato should know what fans want by now, especially after selling so many 1/48's.

Normally, I am very forgiving in toys but that is just not going to cut it for me. Like the others, I am suprised how little actual transforming there is. It is really a kit or constructor set. It would be more forgiving if it looked good in fighter or battroid but it doesn't. I don't care about the price at this point. This makes me sad after getting to like the VF-0 from watching wm_cheng build the Hasegawa kit.

Wow, customs are definitely on a higher level on average than in the past. Love the paint scheme and color tones. Awesome job.
