    Kids and your toys

My triplets are 10 months old and are starting to crawl. I need to start giving some serious thought what to do with my collection since a lot of it is sitting on open shelves. For now, I will probably box up some of it and move everything up high. BTW - I noticed Ikea has those all glass, 3 shelved, cabinets for $80. I think they used to be $100. Pretty good deal if you are on a budget.
  3. I think it is wrong to have the attitude of "screw them" and then turn around and download movies. It's obvious that there is lots of downloading going on in the world and it would be stupid for the MPAA not to do anything about it. However, if they think downloading is the root of all their lack of sales, they are wrong. It's obvious that movie quality/originality is way down and prices and ads are way up. Why would I pay more than $20 to bring my wife to a lame sequel of an already lame movie? There is hardly any movies that I care to see anymore. Ones I do see usually disappoint. I suppose it's not PC to make kickass movies anymore or something.
  4. I don't think they got enough money. I bet it would be tough to come up with enough court costs to compete against the MPAA.
  5. Awesome! Looks fantastic. If you can ever get better pics, please post.
  6. True, and there was no fuel injection either but you could probably shoehorn a big block in those old vettes. If not, you can build a small block fi 427. I would love to build a motor like that with twin turbos and stick it in my old Camaro. I think the 70's vettes past 72 are the worst. The 80's were not that great either but things turned around in the 90's. I've heard you can get the C5's real cheap right now. If I was single, I would probably get one.
  7. I still have not made up my mind with the new Vette. The performance is there but the looks are uninspired, much like the last gen Camaro. You have to shape a body and mold interior parts. I don't see why you can't make these into a more attractive form. The worst thing is that you know GM won't change the body styling for another 8+ years. I just think GM could try a little harder. It appears they do just enough to sell a certain amount of cars. That said, I would also buy a Corvette over high cost imports like BWM or Porsche. The money saved could go into making the Vette even better. The pushrod V8 is proven and costs way less than a complex 4 valve, multicam motor. Remember the ZR1 Corvette? It had a 4 valve, 2 cam 5.7 litre motor made by Lotus. It made 400hp but the motor cost as much as the Vette itself.
  8. I wouldn't be suprised if that is the case. I'm still a little bummed, though. Yamato's last VF-0S prototype was starting to look decent. The transformation is still ass but it was better than nothing. Two years and nothing, what the hell are you doing Yamato?
  9. Racing Skylines are RWD. The AWD and rear wheel steering add weight and complexity where more parts can break. It's not just deactivated, it's removed.
  10. Just found this awesome Camaro concept someone came up with. Hey GM, this is what I'm talking about:
  11. yeah, I'm also partial to the 70.5 through 73s myself (no offence but I drool over blue 72's w/white stripe )...but they wern't produced in the volume that the later years were, and they are especialy rare around here...so "beggers can't be choosers" and I built the car seen above (IMHO 77 and 78 were the second best looking versions of the 2ed gen bird)...I pretty much stopped haveing an intrest in newer birds once Pontiac quit produceing motors for them (not that there is anything wrong with Chevy, to me Pontiac performance should be pontiac basied ) and I have no real intrest in 3rd + 4th gen cars ... I did have a 88 305cid 5-speed Formula for a while as a daily driver, not bad...just not the same....course if I win the lottery, I'd have a different 2ed gen car for every day of the week Me, three. Although, I am more of a Camaro fan but it's all pretty much the same. I like the round taillights of the Camaro and the RS option looks awesome. I still own the 73 Camaro I bought when I was 18. It's nothing special right now, but someday... With the success of the new retro Mustang and all the other retro designs out there, I still can't understand why GM cannot give us a good Camaro/Firebird. They had the drivetrain right, all they needed was a decent body design. They kept that wedge design way too long and didn't even try to keep it fresh like the Mustang.
  12. If it mowed my lawn, I would be all over it.
  13. I never thought I would say this but this Saturn Sky looks awesome.
  14. I sure hope I don't owe this year. This will be the first year I have dependents. I hope my kids pay off big time. Sadly, I need the money to pay the bills. If I could get one toy, I want that Koenig.

    CF VF-1A

omg that's sweet! Perfect job. I love the cf vf-1a and that's the best looking one I have ever seen.
  16. Here are some other good torrent sites: baka updates torrent reactor supernva mirror
  17. I recently saw supernova listed in one news article about the popularity of bittorrents so I knew it would not be long. Super sucks. At least one supernova mirror site is still up and some of the other big sites are still up. It would be nice if these big sites would not list movies and music so they would not get shut down so easily.
  18. I love Gatchaman but I doubt Hollywood can pull this off.

    Latest custom 1/48

I third that. Awesome looking valk. The finish is perfect.
  20. I'm not too sure about the US being the biggest gaming market. I could be wrong, but I think Japan is stronger - at least with console games and such.
  21. Luna Sea and Pillows are the only ones I have found to be good. Although, I have not heard many jrock bands. Anyone watching the anime Beck? I like some of the music in it, especially the one in closing credits.
  22. Bottom line, if the Alpha's do not sell well, neither will the Beta's. I don't know who would be a Beta that has not bought at least one Alpha. Perhaps the Alpha's would be more popular if a Beta was sold but that would be a gamble. Toynami's stance is nothing new. It is the same for any company - "buy our crap and we will make more." It makes no difference if no one made the Beta before or if a few people really, really want one. Mospeada is just not that popular and Gakken went bankrupt making Mospeada toys. I'm a big fan of the mecha and would love if Toynami made the Alpha/Beta combo. But it wouldn't make since for Toynami to make it for a lose just to make a few fanboys happy. Sad but true.
  23. That's rad! It will look even better with proper painted tailwings. I've been tempted to try a vf-11b myself. I have an extra MIB version1 that I doubt will ever be worth anything.

    Yamato 1/48 GBP Pic

Drawings do nothing for me. We already knew Yamato was working on this. Until I see a prototype, it's nothing more than a yf19fp.
  25. People's interests change for one reason or another. Most of us are in their 20'3 and early 30's and are getting married and/or having kids. I become a father 6 months ago and everything changed. My wife stopped working and money is pretty tight. Although my case is special because I had triplets. There is also a lot of duplication from Yamato and others. The market become flooded and Macross toys don'tt seem so special anymore. I still love them but I wouldn't prefer to see more variety.
