  1. Your paint work is superb. They look so clean and smooth.
  2. Not only is it depressing to see all the wrecked exotics, you know people died in most of those wrecks. I imagine most were young as well with a promising life ahead of them. I've seen this sort of thing in real life and it isn't pretty. In a way, I'm glad I can't afford a 500+hp super car because I would probably get all kinds of stupid in it.
  3. I agree. I would give very few anime series, movies, or whatever top marks. I'm not even into the magic sort of thing but FMA really pulled it off. The really need to watch deep into the series to appreciate how detailed the story is. There are intense moments early on but things get so much better later on. Some scenes really catch you off guard and you really get into the characters. I started watching the dubbed versions on Cartoon Network but stopped. The voice acting is average at best. Funny scenes are not as funny and the intensity is far less then the original. I recommend finding the fan-subs.
  4. They way I heard it was that the Mustang's 390 had to be modified a bit to keep up with the Charger's 440. Either way, it's rather obvious that the Ford 390 was no match for the Mopar 440. I think both Charger's were destroyed in the film. I know all those jump sequences over the SF hills totalled one set of cars and then the last Charger was destroyed in the closing scene. LOL on the hubcaps. It's also funny to listen to how many times they upshift. What's really cool about Bullitt was there was several mistakes that were left in. For instance, Steve overshoot a corner, threw it in reverse, and then forward spinning the tires the entire time. The Charger also messed up a turn and took out a camera. A local driver somehow made it past the road blocks unnoticed and almost got hit.
  5. That's pretty cool. I think it looks great without paint.
  6. When I think back to all the stunts I did when I was much younger, I feel fortunate that I was never in a bad wreck. If I had a serious fast car back then I know there would of been trouble.
  7. I don't know anything about the comic but the trailer sure got my attention. It looks pretty cool. I'm bored stiff with most movies these days so it's good to see something different come out. The only thing that seemed cheesy was the whole co-director Quentin Taratino thing flashing on the screen. Seems like name dropping to me.
  8. As expected, it's looking pretty good. I know it's going to be expensive so the quality better be good. I know Yamato isn't known for top-notch quality but the 1/48 armor better at least stay. Something else I just thought of. With all that detail, how heavy is this armor going to be? The 1/48 is pretty sturdy so I hope it can support the weight.
  9. Nice pics. I love Jung's work, Mospeada, and good pics. I also like the comparison pics. Neither the Imai or the Toynami is close to perfect. Both do some things well and others things not so well. I like the MPC, though, but wish Toynami spent a little more time making the fighter mode look better.
  10. I came across this and found it amazing. Dude in his STI got rear ended by an 18 wheeler and shoved under another truck. There is hardly anything left of the car but the guy came out without any injuries. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...bayphotohosting
  11. Did you make sure the middle torso was collapsed all the way? It took me like 5 transformations before I finally figured out how to make it good in fighter again. Did you read the instructions carefully too? Because I didn't do that, and that's prolly why it took me soooo long. Yeah, I think that's it. It still doesn't want to move but I will monkey with it. Thanks for the reply. The instructions are pretty poor IMO but at least it's in English. The Toynami is a bit more complex than I imagined.
  12. I just got a greenie - a little b-day gift to myself. It's my first Toynami MP and it's pretty much what I expected. Quality is pretty bad but overall it's pretty decent. I do have one problem, though. In fighter mode, it seems like the legs do not slide in far enough. There is a huge gap in the arms between the shoulders and arms when everything is locked down. This is driving me crazy. Anyone have the same problem?
  13. Awesome Firebird, Phyrox! It's not often you see the front end of those cars in such good shape. More pics! I also think the 2nd gen Camaro/Firebird are heavily underrated. They were actually a pretty good sports car for their day and much better than the first gen. I suppose their appeal is less because the overall design was used all through the 70's and early 80's. People think more of the thunder chicken Bandit t/a than they do the one's actually built to race trans am.
  14. If I had big bills in my wallet instead of singles, I would go with this: Banks sells this twin turbo kit for the small block chevy. It's easy to get 600hp and a lot more on pump gas.
  15. You can make any car fast - it just takes different amounts of money. Exotic cars use fancy materials and are hand built. I imagine most people who buy them just want to be seen in them. I don't understand why VW/bugatti had such a hard time getting to 1000hp. It doesn't seem like you need 16 cylinders and how ever many turbos to do it. I understand they are going for reliable hp but still. Tuners get plenty out of a turbo straight six and it's fairly easy to do with a dual turbo V8. I heard that the hardest part in making that car was getting someone to supply a tire to go 250+ mph. If you buy the car and want to go that fast, they will come to you with a set of racing slicks and put them on the car for you!
  16. I've been playing it on the PC and love it. I like the simple squad commands. Even if you don't do commands, the squad seems to do well on their own. The levels may be a bit linear but there is a good pace of action. I hope to see more Delta Squad games. It has the perfect mix for me.
  17. Pretty cool, I guess. It doesn't look right with the strike cannon and more detailed sculpt. I always think of the Jetfire as 1/55 and nothing else.
  18. Poor valk. Love the patches and all the weathering effects.
  19. Wow, that's brutal. It looks like that gun can tear anything up. Maybe someday the military will have lasers and such but it's hard to believe anything can be as simple and as effective as chunking a whole lot of hot lead, very quickly.
  20. Yeah, I guess but it doesn't seem like it to me. I am being too critical because there are a lot of great cars in the game. I do agree about the trans-am. That's about as American as you can get when it comes to muscle cars. I am currently trying to build up my garage and get a little cash. I do plan on searching for a 1000+hp machine and go for 300mph.
  21. I wish they made more changes from GT3. It seems like over 75% of the cars are the exact same ones in previous games. That's not exactly a bad thing since previous games had a lot of cool cars. But where is Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini? If the GT series is suppose to be the ultimate, they should be in there. Why are there still slow, ugly 'K' cars in the game that nobody wants to drive even in real life? If anything, I wish they would ditch the lame cars and put in more classics. At first, GT4 seems exactly the same as GT3 - just a little better looking with more stuff. However, after playing it a little it does feel more realistic and there seems to be more attention to detail. I love the new roof camera angle. I do have some graphical problems where the screen gets all pixelated. I sometimes have to pause then continue to fix it. Anyone else experience this? I decided not to import anything from GT3 because I wanted to start from scratch. However, it's pretty tough. I've done all the license tests, most of the beginner races, and a bunch of the missions but still don't have much cash or cars I can use. Man, the later driving missions are tough.
  22. Messing with a man's car should be a much more serious crime. Unless of course it's a real POS.
  23. I guess it's always good to see some kind of progress on a Yamato project. Before Yamato gives up on Macross, I sure hope they do a VF-1A CF in 1/48. There is no redesigning or retooling needed for it so I so no reason to at least do a limited run.
  24. Dang, that Yamato news really sucks. It's not unexpected but I think most of us had some hope for a brighter Macross toy future. I was really hoping they could do a SV-51 toy of some sort - even if it came in a bunch of pieces like the VF-0S. If only they could of done better with the VF-0S and got it out before the series ended. I think that would help bring some extra attention to the series and make them both better sellers. Oh well, it's not like I can afford expensive toys anymore. Perhaps that is what happened to the Macross fan base - they all got marriend and/or had kids. The last Yamato product I bought was a 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru. There are several more I want to get but just don't have the cash.
  25. It looks like there will be a little more 1/48 action but then what? By this time, it doesn't appear the big Monster and the new YF-19 are going to happen. I was thinking they were going to move onto MacZero and do a bunch of varients of those valks but it doesn't look like that is going well either. I'm beginning to think the era of new Macross toys is almost over.
