  1. That's correct. I'm thinking of getting one because the normal editions look a bit lacklustre to me. But i really want to see what they look like first! Please, anyone?
  2. HI, Has there ever been a VF-1A max or hayao with weathering (October 2010 release i think) shown on this thread? If not, if someone has them and they are willing could they post one or two pictures? I've only seen the - what i imagine is photoshoped - official pictures at Yamato's website. Thanks!
  3. If the made a renewal i think giving it a tilted waist and improving the elbow joints are really all they need to address. It's not like they need to do a complete overhaul in every mode. And if they've got any common sense - *can laughter* - they should expect that to sell like crazy, certainly more than the VF-25G and VF-171ex.
  4. I had a look at the Macross Digital Mission game on Youtube, a video by VFS55, and the VF-4 in that doesn't look too bad. It seemed to have a fair number of red patches or printing, so it may not end up looking too bad. Was i looking at the correct colour scheme?
  5. Totally agree with you. It's my favourite from MF too. Perhaps i'm wrong but i think it's the most unique design in the sense that you cannot really point to another design and say "here, it's similar to that". Perhaps there's a bit of SV-51 but altogether more original than VF-25, YF-29, and VF-171EX.
  6. I have both VF-27gamma and beta, plus the renewals, and i can confirm that the fighter mode looks as good as any V2 and actually more high end than the renewal VF-25s or even YF-29. The plastic is very glossy, borderline oily, but there's something pleasing to the eye about it, perhaps the solid colour and the numerous printing. But yeah the battroid looks less sleek. If you go through Yahoo japan auctions and stalk a few auctions you will eventually find one at a good price even after middleman fees (that's how i got mine).
  7. No actually i do have one, and through Anime-Export in fact, but i always wish it was the collectors who got these rather than people who are already thinking of selling it as they putting the order through, whether that's private sellers or stores like the one i had posted about a few pages back.
  8. It all sounds as if you've misspelled the first word of your interests. :-P
  9. 30,000 yen plus as retail price for this was really bad marketing, even it had superhero commando ultra parts included. The Patlabor figures costed as much but they are a hundred times more iconic and popular. The only way this might have worked was if they released the bundle with the VF-17s or a bundle of some sort with the VF-19 Kai. Sometimes i want to go work for them and Bandai! lol
  10. Also it seems that most of AmiAmi's stock has made its way to YJA already...
  11. [ And yet someone bought 1 in the meantime. I hope it wasn't someone from this board!
  12. But... isn't the normal price for Japanese buyers 17850? What would you call this: http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/puremiamuserekuto/item/334/?s-id=borderless_browsehist_02_en :-)
  13. If this were an Ozma variant with some made up "back story", as in VF-1S Low Vis., it'd make some sense, but i don't get this VF-1S scheme. I will usually buy anything - lol - but i'm not sure about this one. A VF-171 in teal would have been a much easier decision. Also, knowing how long the nose can look from up close - or at least it looks long to me - i think the dark paint will help it a lot in fooling the eye.
  14. My life would be quite difficult if i had to browse pages and pages of messages just to make sure someone means what he says, not being ironic, as if writing a message on a computer without non-verbal signals is the best platform for irony.
  15. Calling a figure that was released 2 weeks ago, and that is selling for a 20% + mark up, a shelf-warmer, sounds so absurd to me! What do you call those VF-1s at HLJ that go on sale time after time and never shift?!?
  16. Although i have the 2010 release of YF-19, i have kept that in the box so i cannot comment on that, but i also have the Anniversary release from 2008 and that i can say has not had any problems. Everything has held up perfectly for over a year. I think the Anniversary must also have been improved upon, otherwise i'm just lucky?
  17. A bit late to be saying this, But S. Weaver was not unhappy about Alien Resurrection. I remember a special feature of her saying she was happy with it and actually thought it was closer to Alien 1 that the other movies. Her view of course. I don't agree, my dear SIgourney.
  18. Ehm didn't you say you bought one from Otacute as well, page 3? No comments - but you know what those would be... :-)

    DX VF-25G

Wouldn't it work out cheaper to get one from eBay? I mean electricity bills, stimulants later in the day, possibly marriage counselling later in the year? Just get it from eBay and pretend it came from HLJ.
  20. I could not disagree more. Each of the 3 Alien films takes a different approach, except for Resurrection which is a pastiche of everything before it. Alien 3 was the only one i would refer to as emotional. It may not have the atmosphere of Alien, or be as compulsive to watch as Aliens - mainly because of an ungainly cast apart from S. Weaver, who are unpleasant to watch - but it is a non-Hollywood finale to the trilogy fitting the first rather than the second film. It ends with a sacrifice in a prison facility, at the ass end of space no one cares about. Instead of spending half the film watching an "Alien planet" being sabotaged and blown to pieces which would have been fecal matter as you set it. Having said this, Avatar was one of the worst sci-fi films i've watched the last 5 years that i can remember. There are several others but this was shocking as to how by the numbers it was. It was intended for people who went for a double feature, with Twilight following right after.

    DX VF-25G

About Nippon-Yasan, I understand that after the IShop2Go and BBTS scares there is a growing distrust of websites that keeps their pre-orders open, but the fact that they are open does not mean that orders are flowing through 24/7! For example there are a lot of people who did manage to get orders for heavily discounted prices and selling them for a small premium. Is it not possible that N-Y may intend to get those and so adds another small premium? That could be the case with their YF-29 and VF-171EX, plus all the other VF-25. Similar to what Anime-Export may be doing, otherwise how do these spring up all of a sudden? If they are doing this, i'm glad they are because they are saving us the trouble of using proxy services or eBay.I hope they do fullfil their orders but suddenly there is a panic about something currently unfounded.

    Bandai = EPIC FAIL :(

I doubt they really expect to get 200 of anything. They just overstated the number to appear as though they'd been slighted as well and that they genuinely expected to fullfil every order. They probably hoped for 20 at best.
  23. I'm sorry to say the controversial thing but do you check what the prices in Japan itself are now? 30000 YEN for VF-25F (about $350) and 20000 YEN for YF-29. The price for VF-25F probably sounds even more ridiculous if you live in Japan!
  24. I've got an Sv-51 Ivanov without any issues, but like the YF-21, if they were to do improvements it would have to be a complete overhaul as with the YF-19 and VF-19. It's the squeezing things back into place and locking them that i'd expect to see addressed other than any reported QC issues that fortunately i don't have. The YF-19 is a popular design and most people would accept the RRP of 22000 YEN. Would they go all out to do the same for the SV-51 when the RRP will need to be as high or higher than the VF-17 even? Not to mention that the Nora and CF schemes are not very aesthetically pleasing.
  25. Does anyone know how strict they are with the B grading? One of their staff told me that if there are no comments i can assume that there is not noticeable flaw but what is noticeable to me is often not noticeable to many others. :-)
