    As much as I object to Mari-ja's approach, I don't think a remake of SDFM is an inherently bad idea. Risky, certainly, but not untenable. Admittedly, we've been spoiled of late -- Yamato 2199, The Origin, and Die Neue These, for example -- but I suppose there are plenty of ways they could completely screw up a Macross remake (like, say, going with a radically different character designer)... It wouldn't be the first time.

    A bit goofy? Do you mean the character animation? Minmay's depiction? Misa...? ...or the mecha? Let's face it, a modern remake couldn't possibly look any worse than some of the original episodes did.

    Had those upgrade kits been more readily available, I might've considered CM's Legioss... but without them, no sale. Those intakes are a ridiculous eyesore. Build quality is immaterial when the figure is such an aesthetic failure.

    Incidentally, if Harmony Gold's Robotech license has prevented the release of other Macross properties internationally, how is it that AnimEigo and ADV Films were able to distribute the original SDFM?

    Such expectations of accuracy or consistency are incompatible with Japanese society. In other words, nobody ever gives a damn. Once you've lived here as long as I have, you're only surprised when the spellings are correct!

    This looks about a thousand times better than Jūshinki Pandora does. The clean, simplistic character designs are extremely appealing, and the cel-shaded CGI is infinitely preferable to how Kawamori designs are usually rendered nowadays. Thanks for the heads-up, HAL!

    Well, there's the intended audience, then. Casual fans who aren't motivated enough to do their own research. Yes, they produced Macross Delta, giving us a whole new series to bitch about.

    That's why they changed it, see. The "fixed pose" figures came nearly a year after the ride armors were released. In each case, the new sculpts were a considerable improvement over the optional heads that came with the original bikes (including the hair color). While the modeler in me wants to paint the hair a matching purple, the collector in me won't allow me to alter the toys in any way, shape or form... Am I the only one who constantly struggles with such ethical conflicts?

    I'm not sure what purpose YouTube videos like Toy Galaxy's are meant to serve. I know fans love to make 'em, but who are they intended for? As someone intimately familiar with Robotech, I found the information summarized in their "History of Robotech" videos to be mostly accurate, but a little oversimplified. Facts come fast, images appear and disappear even faster, so interest is maintained despite already knowing the story presented... but I'm obviously not who the videos are intended to educate, since there's nothing new for me. As someone largely ignorant of Voltron, I found the information summarized in their "History of Voltron" video to be confusing and nonsensical. Facts come too fast to process, images appear and disappear without context to establish their relevance, and I'm left with more questions than answers... so I'm obviously not who the video is intended to educate, since the presentation is not sufficiently informative. So if these videos fail to educate curious onlookers or entertain hardcore fans, what purpose do they have?

    No, CM's were about 1:15 scale, nearly five inches in height. These "minimum factory" kits are only about three inches.

    It comes with collector's coins, and lenticular cards, and a 200-page hardcover episode guide... and even without them, $33 per Blu-ray Disc isn't bad at all.

    NOVA is considering doing a limited release expansion set for The Ubiquitous in Autobot and Decepticon-themed colors, so I've been asked to produce some color samples. What do you think?

    Wow, the abundance of CGI in the trailers really clashes with the simplistic, 2D character animation. Is this a low-budget production? Recent Gundam projects like Thunderbolt and Unicorn have done a much better job of integrating the computer animation... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qE_UMethK0 This Pandora looks like outdated crap by comparison.

    Something original? Not much chance of that, I fear. After The Last Jedi, it's unlikely Disney will let Abrams do "something original."

    Resin is just another type of plastic. The parts may require more putty and sanding than your average model kit, but the same tools and modeling supplies can be applied to a resin kit. The primers, enamels, and acrylics I use for Moscato Hobby kits are the same as I use for painting Gunpla or Transformers. You may need to use metal rods to reinforce connections or stabilize the model, however, depending on the pose you choose... Resin kits are substantially heavier, and require more support than injection-mold models do.

    Given the entire creative staff came from Kuroko no Basket, your instincts are spot-on. I don't particularly like these character designs, but they're no worse than the old LoGH "Gaiden" OAVs... and if any of the characters actually looked like soldiers, it wouldn't be appropriate for LoGH anyway.
