  1. Damn, I didn't realize the fighter mode could look so good... or that they'd scale so well with HMRs. Now I need one.
  2. Fabulous work, TJ. The pose, the angle, and the lighting are highly dramatic and effective.
  3. I think ToyWorld's "Evila Star" almost managed that... ...although the robot mode proportions suffered along the same lines as the original G1 did. Still, the Thomas renders look great. 2023 can't come fast enough!
  4. That's surprisingly close to the color it should actually be... excepting the head, of course. It'll probably look a lot better in fighter mode.
  5. You seem to have answered your own question, chief.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Quoted by who? There is literally nowhere on Earth where it could cost that much to send a toy back to Japan. Are you on the International Space Station?
  7. Again with the crowdfunding, I see... Harmony Gold's okay with this?
  8. The invasion is nigh! Bring on the army, Cap'n.
  9. Yeah, I think that's the problem. Realistic water effects require clear resin.
  10. I certainly love my "Dibots." But I would love them a lot more in retro Hasbro packaging!
  11. I like the damage. I don't like the water.
  12. NECA uses very tight tolerances on their pegs and ball-joints. I've been doing a lot of customizing on their Planet of the Apes figures, and I find the only safe way to swap out parts is to heat the pegs (and sockets) with a hair dryer first, significantly softening up the plastic before disassembly. The area should be hot and pliable, like rubber, to avoid breakage while parts-swapping.
  13. seti88, you go to the head of the class. Shizuka the Cat, you can teach next week.
  14. Not just you, Shizuka. Now class, who can tell me what one thing all these sci-fi/fantasy characters have in common?
  15. So, do they shave the clone in the tank...? Or does the cloning process replicate facial grooming?
  16. Well, there are obviously some materials that can't be replicated... like dilithium. Or latinum.
  17. Got most of the Black Panther figures now... There are none. Unlike most BBI "Elite Force" toys, the Tomcat didn't come with figures.
  18. Well-worth it, if you have any modeling skills at all. Lookin' fine, Cap'n.

    Macross figures

My order was rejected. They won't ship to Japan.
  20. I use A/C all the time, windows are usually kept closed, and I spend very little time around my displays... and with a regular influx of new stuff, displays are updated often enough that dust isn't a significant problem. Plus, those ships are easily accessible for dusting. The 1:18 Tomcat that hangs above them, however... This one can only be accessed with a ladder, and hasn't been dusted in several years.

    Macross figures

Yes, and were posted earlier in the Model Kits section (since assembly, decals and paint are required).
  22. After Bandai's long-awaited Star Destroyer was announced -- at a disappointingly small 1:5000 scale -- I decided to get the Zvezda 1:2700 kit (distributed in the West by Revell) instead: It scales much better with the rest of the fleet. Assembly was easy, but wiring it for fiber-optics is gonna be a pain...!
  23. Yeah, that's where I got mine. Vintage Macross kits aren't great, but they're plentiful; I often buy 'em just for the decals. Panel-lining and decals are fine, but weathering means abandoning the toy aesthetic entirely... and if I weather one, I've gotta weather them all.
