  1. My wish list: New Macross Series based on VFX 1/48 Elintseeker!!!! <-- man I love this mech 1/48 Super Ostrich 1/48 VF-1D but I already have the Captains! 1/48 Enemy Mechs - NGer, Glaug, and all 4 Regults at the minimum 1/48 M+ / M: VFX / M3 variants 1/48 upgrade kits Hasegawa detail, Yamato playability and all ABS / Die Cast Metal Joints construction. 1/1000 SDF-1 TV variant, followed by DYRL, M+ 1/1000 Enemy fleet (Britai\'s ship would be ~ 4 foot long!) All with full detail, lights fx, removable panels to show the interior and full posability. Wonder how much someone would pay for such an item? I don\'t care who makes it as long as it is AT Yamato or BETTER quality. Personally, I say put the old line to rest and get up to date with today\'s techonology and advances to make the best Macross possible.
  2. I got customs to be done and parts will be available after this week. I might be able to provide the reissue Hikaru VF-1S parts if there is enough demand for it. Keep posting your requests here and I\'ll see if I can offer it.
  3. Ha! Awesome Gene! Now I can get back to customizing my TV Squardron with these time saving tips!
  4. Graham has been paying for mine so thats free. Hehe..

    Group buy:

I have both recast kits and can donate it for this project. But the YF-21 needs some serious re-work before it can be recast such as the wing thickness between the two sides. I will try to find some time to break it out of the boxes and take pictures for reference. Note: These were cast of the originals I believe and were the ones available here a while ago. If the current sources fall through, I\'m sure we can work with someone here to get it going.
  6. If you are a newb at modeling, DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID or THINNER on your heatshield! That will eat the plastic and either warp it, make it brittle or a combination of both plus, its not safe to get that stuff on your skin for too long. The best trick was using Haterist's idea: Buy some brass / metal polish. Its almost like toothpaste consistancy. Take a piece of masking tape and tape the front so you don't scratch it by accident. Then take a clean cotton rag, dip it into the metal polish and apply it to the back side of the heatshield. Start rubbing. It should start to come off but don't rub TOO hard or you'll cut the finish on the bottom leaving streaks. Just keep at it until it is clear of paint. After that, clean it off with soap and water. Paint the backside and let it dry for 24 hours before touching it again. I have a ruined heatshield here from using brake / engine degreaser that would make a great damaged valkyrie custom though.
  7. Sorry to have neglected this thread for so long but with the resumed production of 1Js and 1S, I can offer parts again during my spare time. I will be parting out brand new valks and still need to break even for this service to continue. So please be patient and always advise the scale, TV or DYRL and model type to best match your Yamatos. Side Note: Customers get 2nd dibs as we want to fix as many broken Yamato's as possible! Keep that Valkyrie Hanger running!
  8. Great Review Hayao! Now lets see those GBP CUSTOMS!!!!!

    Latest 1/48 GBP Pics

I have pictures but the forum is not allowing me to post it! Box is as big as a regular 1/48 and is beautiful! I love the stone marble background. Too bad the big size could have been cut down to reduce some shipping cost. Includes scuplted DYRL Hands and not the TV fat hands!
  10. Box Pictures and Pilot Figure. Comes with TV Pilot and TV Hands. However, arms are DYRL (?) with vertical parallel panel lines vs the VF-1J and old line art perpendicular lines. Color is a bit on the light side and close to the 1/60 TRU version from memory. No comments on fit and finish yet until I get the chance to play with this. PS: Box does NOT SAY LIMITED EDITION so I don't know if this is true or not.
  11. Damn, I'm in but that price needs to go down a lot for me to keep my sets complete.
  12. I've seen the old 1/72s and the sculpt is actually nice after you clean it up. If the captain can make the regult with posability and articulation, then I'm in. No articulation? Then I would like to see the price come down since you can still find Imais kits around.
  13. As funny as everyone says it is, I say " Nice Job". Take the FP off, set Valkyrie to Fighter mode and I can picture it in a hangar on Macross Island right before Space War 1 occurred and right after Macross Zero. I need to get off my ass or call in sick for a week to work on my dio.
  14. No problem except for the availability of the Valkyries. I hear rumors the 1/48 GBP release will initiate the re-issue of Hikaru's VF-1J but nothing has been confirmed yet. Cross your fingers.
  15. Macross II VF2-SS rocks! Any chance of a recolor of the whole squadron (blue, red, yellow and green) and perhaps the Metal Siren and VF-2J?

    Global Unity

NICE collection! Lose the McFarlanes and make room for the 1/48s before you can't find em anymore.
  17. It's true that the market was saturated by VF-1 toys from Yamato, Bandai, Banpresto and Toynami, but Macross is not just about the VF-1. Most of us here want large scale perfect variable VF-0A/D/S, SV-51 and VF-19FP toys. There's a distinct lack of these in the market at the moment. Graham The demand is there but for Yamato as a company, I think its refreshing to work on other lines. The experience and new technology infused into the Garland and Votoms could be brought back out to make those PV M0, M+ and M:VFX toys we always wanted. I don't see it as a bad thing. If worst comes to worst, we can have Sebastian build those PV Macross toys in China!! Better him than HG right? Maybe ??? RighT???!?!
  18. DUYAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM The Scope dog looks exactly what all premium toys should be : an ABS toy grade PG kit in disguise! The Garland just made me forget all about the YF-19 FP and lack of Macross news. Bravo Yamato! The Finger to HG for putting down Macross products worldwide.
  19. One color (white or whatever resin colors - same as the stock VF-1J or VF-1A/1S would be perfect) is fine due to the need to repaint most of the Valk. If anything, color match the two Blue and Red TV VF-1Js to make the wedding Valks!!! I'm glad someone is seriously considering this (finally!) Keep the price reasonable and you got all my money!!!

    YF-19

Get in line buddy! There are tons of MWers and other Macross fans waiting for this. There will be a limited number of them at WF and I'm sure we'll see it up for auction soon enough.
  21. Nice customs! Yamato just upped their standard with this guy so I hope their standard goes up with future Macross toys. artspraken, great writeup!

    What scale Destroids?

For me the Destroids needs to be on par in size and detailed as the MPC Convoy. That's my new standard and I bet already bested by Yamato's Voltom (can't wait for it next month). You just get so much more for your money, $ for $.
