  1. Wait, when did toy manufacturers have a drop test of 8' without the box? Last time I checked, everyone did a drop test for all products 3' WITH THE BOX but thats also dependant on age rating. Pre-school toys being the most stringent of course. I got to admit, that is some TOUGH QA going on there. Wonder what Yamato did for the 1/48s. I agree with Exo, give me BBI accuracy for the GI Joe line 2005 or move the 1/18 scale Joes up a notch in "believable" realism.
  2. 114 - Nice textures and details! But the proportions are a tad off on the thin side. Keep it up.
  3. Gammera, Is that black Valkyrie a Ghostrider? Any more side and angle shots? Thats my next custom!! Sweet render BTW!
  4. Great work guys! Any chance of seeing the VCV-551 Valhalla III in there? Or the SDF-6 Dark Queen II or even the VFX Macross 8?
  5. Going OT here but does anybody have a frame of the animation error YF-1R from Macross SDF-1? If not, that is more wanna-be Macross canon material. I don't mind fan art but passing it off as "official" is BS. Back to the original topic ... I think Robotech Veritechs going for that high is due to the demand and pure marketing by HG. AFAIK, Robotech was known world wide with Macross known less at its debut and today due to the marketing rights. I grew up with Robotech when it first came out, saw Macross DYRL when it came out and knew about both. It was confusing comparing DYRL to Robotech's Macross Saga for a while. But its not hard to seperate the truth with a little digging and I've been a Macross nut ever since. However, most folks who see my Macross collection (especially in the US) still calls all of my toys Robotech! So when they see my Strike 1S setup, they search ebay for Robotech and end up with Toynamis. I'm think Yamato has indirectly given Toynami a boost in their sales from creating such a great product and also due to consumers being mis-informed. Robotech.com does a great of marketing for USA customers where Yamato hasn't and can't do any marketing outside of Japan. Its up to the grey market importers to praise the Macross gospel, which are far and few in between.
  6. VB-6 is Dec. My source got the VF-1S re-issue dates mixed up! Suprised the heck out of everyone.
  7. Freaky! Wonder how much a Possessed Minmay would go for? Graham, should we search for you?
  8. Oopps.. Should have said LEFT part. Boss walked into my cube while I was typing the reply. Hit submit before I edited it.
  9. Since this is already non-anime, I'm going to bring this slightly more off topic. I've always like this. Its my last name. Its not an ego thing... seriously. I just thought it looked cool. OMG. Take away the right part and thats my family name! We're so related AlphaHX.
  10. I would have echo'ed astromanED's wishes for an injection plastic version of ALL resin kits to save on price and weight but the fact is, the tooling for a good mold is incredibley expensive. Then there is all of the support equipment involved. Resin casting offers us two things the above would not support: Low volume and quick turn around. Technically, it is somewhat expensive per item but the opportunity to bring forth rare kits justifies the cost to me. If all resin kits were 108 or less shipped, I bet the market for resin-modelers and interests would grow, and volume could lower the price. For our *SMALL* fanbase (50 or less), its well worth the price of admission.
  11. Will log into paypal in a few hours to complete deal.. oh my precious... Fantastic work Captain!
  12. That's good news then. I was worried that there would be like a 1000 or something. That a huge amount of Roy's to go out. From your perspective, how long do you reckon that supoply is going to stretch out in the market? Based on the 2nd run numbers and if demand is the same as when Roy, and Hikaru's 1S came out, at least 3 months for HK. The same can be said for Max's Super 1J. The first 3 month window will get you one, but after that, price slowly increases then by the 4-5 month, drought. I cannot predict the demand for the rest of world. HK has a healthy Yamato Macross appetite and fanbase in my opinion. Be warned, I got hit with a price increase JUST as I was about to take delivery of my orders... Grr... Don't be suprise if dealers increase the prices after the pre-orders to cover the rising YEN vs weaken Dollar. Sigh...
  13. List updated! Darknut, see the FIRST POST for the link to the BP8 recasts. Those are as good if no better (better in my opinion) than factory.
  14. My source called me today and told me its HERE! I could get it on Saturday but deliveries are crazy that day! Looking like a very Happy Macross Thanksgiving to me! PS: He said limited supply. ~ 500 pieces arriving into HK. 1500 - 2500 for the "rest" of the world. Plenty to go around, at least until xmas.
  15. Cool down period after the storm... maybe an 05 project? Pretty picture anyways eh?

    Who spends more?

I'm just like Valk009. Got back into Macross LAST YEAR with my Yamato 1/48 Strike Hikaru 1S combo and its been downhill ever since. As I look into my crib and see the holy walls of Macross (both toys and models), I'm pretty dead even. Yamato - Macross Toy Crack - Just can't stop Hasegawa - Macross Model E pills for swinging good times, cheap, available and gots to have my Macross ARMY! IHP/G-System/Wave/SHE/Imai/Arii - Macross Model cocaine - expensive as f*ck but worth every snort! So glad I don't have a car here cuz half of my post rent/food/love money would have went into that too. Help me Obi Wan!
  17. I got my Mediacom Snake Eater on Order. Heh... Limited to 1000 or so?
  18. Beautiful to me. Just plain beautiful. I love all of the plane designs. Now I need some JAMs to head to head!
  19. Major, I would love to see your suggestions done but I'm afraid fan works usually won't pull themselves together long enough to accomplish much. You and are team are definately the minority though. Here is an example of how I would love to see Macross SDF-1 updated : http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/multimedia/W7MOV_H.zip From Shawn's original thread: Takaken Macross mini movie - Encounter, pretty cool!
  20. Destroids rock! Funny thread! Post more!
  21. My source says END of NOV. He is usually right so that means production is going on right now. Guppy, PM me.
  22. I have to agree with Exo. With the release of Macross Zero, there is a new awareness of Macross. Why follow up with the old series (still great in my book) when you can give Kawamorie a fat budget and let him remake Macross SDF-1 to what he had wanted to and may have been limited at before? I don't want him to replace the VF-1s with new VF-1ZZ Variants but touch it up a notch to at least DYRL quality (production quality). Then follow up with Macross Side Storys about other heroes of Space War I or a new Macross series after Macross 7/VFX.
  23. I rather wish Yamato came with decals than those crap stickers for the VB-6. And no, its not out yet. Sigh... My wallet can wait though.
  24. Nice Job, especially the Ingram and Fiat 500?
