It really depends if you're trying to follow the TV scheme or DYRL movie scheme. I suggest you browse the magazine section of this website and look under model graphix, degenki hobby and hobby japan for references by top pros in modeling. Most of those Valkyries follow DYRLs color scheme though. If you can, try to snag the DVDs of SDF Macross and DYRL for additional referencing. The brown looks pretty good but may be a tad off by a shade two. I believe it has more red and yellows in there. The blue boosters are way off from the DYRL scheme of a dark dark blue though. Here is Jung's custom 1/48 CF Toy which I think is THE reference CF out there in model or toy form right now. I would love it if Yamato would simply release white box unpainted versions of their toys. 1/48 DYRL version with all 3 heads and both the NEW DYRL and Low Vis pilot sculpts 1/48 TV verison with all 3 heads and pilot sculpts Twin pack of DRYL Fast Packs unpainted Twin pack of TV Fast Packs unpainted Yamato should also produce a TV and DRYL Pilot gummy pack as suggested by others and perhaps provide the same for the 1/60 line. Buyers can have their customs commissioned and I'm sure the likes of Jung, wmcheng and Kurt can provide whatever we want.

Well, the PC games industry does have MANY, but not as much, innovative and new ideas as the console or toy industries. But one of the BIGGEST influence is the investor, or usually the publisher. If the publisher were to receive two proposals from their studio or development team, the will look at the one that will bring in the quickest and fastest return. They have to factor in franchise recognition, sell through, piracy, economic growth for the company, quarterly earnings, customer acceptance and acknowledge the current trends. You ride the waves until a new one come along. You just don't create new waves. A lot of people in the industry don't know squat about games but know a lot about money. So a lot of the "coulda, shoulda, woulda" have been new hits or misses would have been pushed aside into the ideas bin until someone else proves those ideas were right. After all, the games industry exists TODAY because of money and not soley because of love of games.

I would love to see the GO Traffic Light, on the bottom right of the picture, as a followup piece! I also like the exposed twin tube idea. It would cheaper, easier to build and more accurate to DYRL's AMRD Launch procedure.

I think you can try to super glue the hinge back on but depending on where it has cracked, it may or may not prove effective. If you read through this thread, it seems Yamato's replacement policy is nil, does not exists. Hopefully Monkey N can offer and update. Good luck!

That would be a start and give the army builder guys out there a chance to put together some kick ass dioramas. I would followup with a VF-1 CF Two Pack or a white box two pack unpainted for customizers (all 3 heads) and then follow with M+ or M:VFX updates such as VF-11C Armored, VF-4G Lightning and VF-17 S/D kits. Hopefully the YF-19 FP and YF-21 FP will get updated to 1/60 with more details. Most of what I've written WILL NOT HAPPEN due to demand vs production cost. Gundam is testing the US market and unless something happends, Macross will remaind a much much smaller second place. Sigh.

Nice promo with CGI from Macross VO and your in game shots. My concern is if WC:SO's engine allows for full hardware AA and 3D effects, then it would look great. The teaser had a lot of old software FX so it looks a tad outdated in the graphics department. But gameplay is key and I wish you the best of luck. Looking forward towards your first release.

Sweet! Might want to clean up the AA a bit but other than, brilliant. Now can you produce the same shot but with different squadron and color schemes? How about an Enigma, Blue Rose, Low Vis or something like that? Keep it up!

Best 1/60 Custom I've seen. Please post Gerwalk and Battroid pictures when you can. The only suggestion I have is to add a matte finish to tone down the shine for a more military look. Great job!

I have been voicing my opinion to have yamato to make this. Here is Studio Half Eyes 1/100 VF-4G Lightning III Resin Kit with FULL TRANSFORMATION. I would buy this in 1/48 scale from Yamato or anybody else RIGHT NOW at the same or higher detail level: Someone tell Yamato this is a Fan boy only release. Yeh Right!

Chances of 1/48 two seaters are very slim. Graham Slim until I get done with the AG project... It looks like Yamato intends the 1/48s for Trophy cases and not for those "complete" collectors. This has me thinking about selling my 1/48s so I can have the full 1/60 line but after comparing both in detail, I can't accept less than 1/48 detail. So what is this AG project? Garage kits for the 1/48s? Please let us 1/48 guys know and offer a glimmer of hope!

Is the clamp itself spring loaded or in a fixed position? I know if these were real, it would be on hydrolics but I was just wondering. Can you post more pictures of the clamp pieces itself? Valkyrie can probably add the details back on through the use of Wave or Kotobukiya parts before re-casting. It does look nice so far. Hopefully we can get the arms to look similar to this one detail wise:

Its 3500 for the full armor, helmet, should pads, chest plate, gloves, arm and leg pieces. Does not include boot and prop weapon though. That is a GREAT price compared to Yamato's. If I had 7K burning a hole in my pocket, I would buy both Halo and Deep Eyes kit from him.

Taking rice to a whole new level! Rice racers followed by geek mobiles! Ugh... Its nice for art's sake but not my cup of tea.

I am definately interested in a few when you get done with this project. I hope we end up with an arm that won't require cutting into the kits.
