  1. Graham, How about a Limited Release of the SDF-1 Macross to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Macross, ala Low Viz? I'm sure many fans would want one especially in that regard. Yamato may be able to makeup for thier production costs with a low run just for fans. I know the Low Vis leveraged existing molds to keep cost down. If you see how much those old beatup SDF-1's cost now, and especially the tiny 4000 and up scales, I think the ones who want it, will pay for it. Personally, I would love to keep prices way down, under 100 or even 80USD but if a limited release is what it will take for THE definative SDF-1 to be produced, then put me down for one. It better be 1/3000 scale and up, 1/2800 would be better, fully transformable, have both armds, and prometheus and deadalus, small launch arms, lights like the new star trek ships and a full set of uber detailed zentradie warships to accompany it with scaled detailed Mimmay figure in the bridge.
  2. After doing some searches, I found out DYRL has been released into HK in original format. Its an authorized version of the R2 disc but comes with Chinese subtitles only. Japanese, Cantonese dub, and Mandarin dubbed track. I have to check on pricing but I think its no more than 30-40 USD. Region 0 SDF Macross TV version has also been released as a 10 disc set for 86 USD. Same audio. For guys with the script and DVDROMS, this is a good alternative to get original Macross DVDs without the high prices. I don't know if they are the same as Animeigo's remastered editions but I'm going to pick them up and see. Will report more as after I find them.
  3. Yamato should make one at 1/3000, the same size as the old Takatoku with upgraded details. All plastic to save on weight and price. They should also include removable armds x 2, Prometheus and Deadalus so we can have TV and DRYL versions. Make it cheaper than the Q-Rau and we have a sure fire winner. I'll take two. One in storm attacker mode and one in battle cruiser mode.
  4. I could set that up but no one would want DYRL Super packs only. The only demand out there is for the TV Super packs. Even if the strike cannon and super packs were sold, a re-color is required to match the TV FP color or repainted to match the red and blue schemes. If you guys are up for original parts, I can get it going. I think it would way cheaper for a local recast in the end though.
  5. Are there pictures of SMTs? Its a regular MK IV Monster correct? And what scale?
  6. Interesting and interested. I hope we can get enough interests to make this viable and oh yes, please try to keep the weight down so shipping won't kill everyone.
  7. That it? It looks like my $6 USD Bootleg with a different head! This should be the reference YF-19 which I would pay 1/48 Valkyrie price for even in 1/72 scale. Bootleg < 10 USD
  8. I would too if they could keep or up the details and make it 1/72 or 1/60 scale at least. Cost would be more than a Super Valkyrie though.
  9. Get the following for Yamato 1/48 or any toy customizing: 1. Easy Off Oven Cleaner to remove paint 2. Pair of heavy duty dishwashing gloves to clean off the above and to wash the valkyrie before any painting 3. Dishwashing detergent to clean the Valkyrie before painting 4. Sand paper in grits 600, 800 ,1000, 1200 to clean up mold errors and smooth out parts 5. Epoxy to fill in seams you want to fix EG the heads. You probably DO NOT want to seal up the legs and arms in case something breaks. If you want to paint small parts, eg the arrows on the head, buy a brush, paint, xacto knife, modeling tape (not the cheap stuff) to mask and paint those areas. To paint bigger parts eg stripes, you can use a cheap aerosol spray system like testors, but thin and test your paints BEFORE you paint the Valkyrie. Or you can use spray cans. To paint he WHOLE Valkyrie, use an airbrush BUT, practice first. Paint a cheap model kit, an old shoe or something. Seriously. Try to paint a rock and keep the paint even. You can up your airbrush skills by knowing when to and not paint certain areas to achieve the effects that you want. Oh yeh, use enamels if possible to paint your Valkyrie. It will stand up better. I have an knockoff VF-19 here that I'm testing with and the enamels are tough! Acrylic paint, while easier to paint, will require a few clear coats to hold up well. You will also need other things like tools, clips to hold parts and etc... but thats the bulk of it. A respirator and a SPRAY BOOTH is highly recommended when you spray paint. We don't want you keeling over as you're about to finish off that custom Minmay Guard masterpiece. Most of the info I posted was summarized from what I've gathered on this forum. Custom parts? Thats another story... Good luck!
  10. Ahem... check my prices... Click on the links in my sig... Feel free to buy from whoever though. I fully support free enterprise and competition.
  11. Welcome to the Meltran Special Ops Group! May your enemies be weak and their heads stomped by your power armor.
  12. Why doesn't someone rip the subtitles from the AC version, add it to the FX disc and remaster it? It could be subtitle track 3 and everyone will be happy. I just checked cdjapan.co.jp and its 71 USD for DYRL. If only the YEN would take a 30% nosedive like right now...
  13. Yes it did. 1 pair of DYRL skeletal hands, and 2 pairs of fixed posed TV style FAT HANDs.
  14. Use these as your guide. Its the best custom kit bashed GBP for Hasegawa's beautiful Battroids so far. There is another in Hobby Japan but this one has more detail. MW Degenki Hobby Magazine section... Nov 2002 Issue
  15. Both are bootlegs. I have the first one. Its made by Animation Cartoon aka AC or MI now. It has some grain in dark colors such as black and blue but otherwise, is pretty good. The 2nd one is made by FX, supposedly much higher quality than the AC version since they used better compression algorithms. I have not seen it but everyone here who has seen both says to buy the FX version. Anyone know a shop in HK that actually carries FX? PM me. None compares to the original Japanese only region 2 for PERFECTION though.
  16. Great links Shawn! If you find others, please share!
  17. That is one great toy! Whoever said 18" was too big for a toy, we all have something to compare to now! Yamato get crack'n on those 1/48 M+, M0 and M:VFX Valkyries now! /emails American brother to pick up Spidey for me.
  18. I was watching DYRL last night (absolutely my favorite movie of all time... It never gets old...) and noticed Kakikazi and Max's Valkyries were not the same as Yamato's Fast Pack sticker sheet colors. Max = Purplish Blue Kakikazi = Blue or very Blue Green Near the end of the show where Max and Millia were shown together with their Q-Rau power suits, Max's suit again was Purplish Blue. Both Valkyrie and Q-Rau looked almost like the PSX' Macross VFX1/2 VF-1As in purple scheme. I don't have the Gold Book or Perfect Memory, but can someone correct me on this? I checked the old Valkyrie color topics but nothing was mentioned about this. It would be great if MW can host a technical page somewhat like Nanashi's but with all official color schemes of Mechs from UN Spacy and Enemies.
  19. It could be slightly older stock. A bunch of 1Js here still have the velcros on the box, but all of the new VF-1S Roy and VF-1As don't have it. Heck, even the Low Vis here has em.
  20. Thats a regular Yamato VF-1J. No where does it say Toy Fair 2004 EXCLUSIVE and currently, it is not legal to print those words on the box considering the on going litigation between Big West / Studio Nue vs Harmony Gold over Non-Japanese distribution of Macross products. If that is what people are paying, I need to setup a group buy for Valkyries then.
  21. Where is this option: "Yamato: If you make the next ones better articulating, higher detail, in all variants and cheaper, I'll buy them ALL, NOW"?

    Custom K&Ms?

Wow, My dream now... Don't forget the Enemy Mechs and Armored Variants... Need to find a red cross and sell lots of blood...

    Custom K&Ms?

Beautiful! I saw these and the transformables compare closely to the Bandai releases, so I was never interested. These customs sure looks great. Graham, Can you add these to MW customs? They make great reference pictures.
  24. mslz22, Great job on those chunky monkeys!

    Q-Rau Review Now Up

There are no additional decals or stickers. I think Devin or someone here could design some custom decals though ... *ahem* Max Q-Rau? You can buy my figure for 20 + s/h! The figure definately needs work as a standalone and I'm not a fan of it, but if stick her into the cockpit, she's not that bad. Actually, if you compare Millia to the Valkyrie pilots, most of the initial ones were crap (to me) until they were revised with the Low Vis, Hikaru VF-1S and TV 1J. On the other hand, I love that Washington Big Red Delicous Apple Mech (American joke ... ) kekeke... I don't have the stands but what other poses did you want? I'll try to find some time and post some "action shots".
