  1. Fantastic Job! I need to find more time to work on my skills before I attempt this. Can't wait for your next additions to the squadron.
  2. Great job! Very very nice! Now I only wish I can find this kit at a decent price!
  3. Neova

    custom 1/48 CF + FP

Impressive! Again, Yamato needs to take some design cues from Jung and others here for their future releases.
  4. Great movie! Any more from Takaken? Perhaps we can share this fabled fan CD using overnet, bittorrent or on the iservers?
  5. Icarus, Thanks for these files. As soon as I clear some space on this HD, I'll give VOXP a try with your mods.
  6. Cdr Fokker, Just wanted to say Great Job on the first HW mod. I hope members of this board could give you guys more input and support as beta builds are released. We have small but loyal following the in Macross community.
  7. If you had said plastic, then the Monster would probably go up in priority. Resin = costs and weight which equals more cost due to shipping. Look at Monkey-N's STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL 1/72 Monster Re-cast. Its about 450-500 shipped! Yikes! If I put out that kind of change, I would REQUIRE it to be full variable and have perfect details. I bought 3 1/48 Yamato VF-1S/J with FPs for less than that. If you said, the sculptor is going to keep prices way down for us, say 100-150 USD 1/72 Monster kit, then you would see interest and orders go way up. But that is not realistic at the moment. I think the list is pretty good so far for realistically achievable resin kits that may be affordable and have enough orders to initiate sculpting.
  8. I would love it also if Yamato would squeeze down the size of their boxes but where did you guys equate smaller boxes to cheaper shipping costs? The cardboard is very thin and so is the vacuum formed plastic tray. I think the weight reduction is negligible. Perhaps a saving of 200-300 grams per item at the most. The post office here charges packages by weight at 0.5 KG intervals with a max size per container restriction. I guess for suppliers, it would be cheaper since they can squeeze in more items per container and the sheer volume density would decrease imported prices, but for buyers who buy one at a time, it won't be that much.
  9. I mis-read the original post so here are my updated requests: 1. 1/72 Thunder Hammer Armor Kit for Hasegawa VF-1 Battroids 2. 1/72 GBP Armor kit for Hasegawa VF-1 Battroids 3. 1/72 VB-6 Konig Variable Monster 4. 1/72 VARIABLE VFX/2 VF-4c Lightning with full boosters and armor. Similar to SHE's 1/100 scale but with Hasegawa detail quality. If there is going to be a VF-11 Battroid re-casts, then I would replace 3 with 3a. VF-11c FULL ARMOR Addon kit As much as I love the VB-6, I think the reality is slim that someone will make it in that scale. Thanks for the clarification!
  10. 1. 1/72 Hasegawa Armored Valkyrie Conversion Addon kit with optional pieces to build VF-1x DYRL Armored Valkyries, Stampede Gerwalks and Thunder Hammers. This would be an ADDON for the Battroids/Fighters just like the weapons kit for the Valkyrie fighters. 2. 1/72 Hasegawa VFX/2 Full Transforming Valkyrie Conversion LINE with all optional parts per kit! I want the VF-4, VF-1x, VF-11C (armored), VF-22S with boosters, VF-19a/s/kai with boosters, VF-17 S/D, Variable Destroid (spartan, defender, phalanx, tomahawk and VARIABLE MONSTER) and etc... Each kit will come in respective MAX'ed out packages (eg armored, boosters, multiple heads, etc...) and have Yamato 1/48 Class or better transformations. Optional Etch kit and decal kits can be sold afterwards to build DYRL, TV, M+, M:7 versions. 3. 1/72 Hasegawa Macross VFX/2 Enemy Conversion Mecha line with all full addon parts in each package. Eg. Regults can be built as scout, small and large missile carriers or regular unit. The full boxed kit should be able to build all versions of the same mech across the full Macross timeline. Mecha line should include every enemy from DYRL up to VFX/2 (which has a variation of most of them cept for the M+ Ghost. Q-Rau, Nousjadeul-Ger, Glaug, etc... Variable means transforming and I would like at minimum current Hasegawa class quality. Ideally, it would be a mix of Hasegawa detail and quality with Bandai's PG class of parts and option. Folks who want to build stripped basic variations could sell off the rest of the "stuff" to people who want them. I hate buying 2 kits to build a VF-1J Strike Battroid for example when all I need is the head in that box. And why isn't there an extra booster so I convert that to a super VF-1J? That’s like a 75USD investment in 3 kits already. Just sell the kits for 30 USD a pop with everything I need to save us time and money. And no more Limited Edition stuff to drive the price up unless it is really special like the metal flaked ones. Most model guys will paint over the clear, white, grey, red plastic anyways! I checked out VFX/2 and it pretty much has all of the Valkyries in them except for the VF-1D, VT-1 and VE-1s I think. I want everything and couldn't decide so I chose 3 product lines for the respective model manufacturers. I would be glad to help and work on anyone's marketing launch strategy to see this happen.
  11. The first box looks really good. Here are pictures of a 5 disc set I got for a friend. Its a gatefold but it could spur some ideas:
  12. This is probably older news for those who have played the Macross:DYRL mod for Homeworld but the team has expanded and are now working on an update(?) on the HW2 engine. http://blitz.sqonline.net/mod/start.html All of the old models were scrapped for new ones. And I thought the first set were impressive!
  13. Same here. I was in most of the hobby shops in Kowloon and its not "in" yet. Puts HKDs back into pocket.
  14. The battroid is beautiful and sorry about the finger. Take care of yourself.
  15. Damn! You guys phugging rock! Keep it up! We need to pin this thread!
  16. What Milkman said! After Takara KO'ed Yamato with the MPC Optimus Prime Convoy in terms of Quality/Price and Value, I think toy collectors in the know have elevated their standards. At least my expectations have gone up. I'm sure we can wait a few months and find some in the bargain bins for 25 USD or less.
  17. Great work. Now lets see some Gerwalk and Battroid action!
  18. I decided to wait a while before I posted my comments on the 1/100 VF-0S and glad I did. I, like most folks here on the forums, do want that perfect 1/48 ultra detail VF-0S and other Valkyries and mecha from M:0. There is no denying this. But from a business standpoint, I think Yamato did the right thing with initially releasing a smaller scale, and financially affordable toy for the masses. This decision has many great benefits: 1. Initial product is relatively cheap to buy and able to penetrate the mass market for toy buyers, expanding the demographic of Macross fans or at the least, increasing market awareness of Macross. 2. Ride the coat tails of M:0 OVA releases to produce a constant flow of products for new (and old) Macross fans. 3. Simple and smaller design = cheaper design and more profits for the company 4. Designs can be QC'ed by intial customers and generated feedback can allow for version 2.0 and up with future improvements that may have been missed by internal QC/QA team. 5. With expanded awareness and increasing market demand for M:0 products, Yamato can scale up and provide version 2.0 quality and increase the details on bigger niche collector grade products in 1/72, 1/60 and 1/48 scales, so long as there is demand for it. Those polls and threads generated here mostly consists of the consolidated voice of hardcore Macross (and other anime) fans which make up a very very small number of the total sales potential that Yamato is probably seeking. While I hope Yamato listens to MWs and other hardcore fans, we can't forget the fact that Yamato is in the toy business and the goal is to make money. The mass market is where the money is. See Bandai and their huge multi-grade Gundam line for THE example of a very successful toy franchise. Personally, I'm just going to wait until that 1/48 Uber-detail version comes out along with all accessories and enemy mecha.
  19. That is a great custom Humvee. Now if I can find some in 1/48 scale to go with my Valkyries! Woohoo!
  20. I can't wait for you reviews! Someone tell Shawn's boss to give him a day off so he can update the main site!
  21. I've been waiting for the YF-19 FP re-release for while too. Word on the street is: Don't Hold Your Breath. I think we'll see the M:Zero VF-0, SV-51 followed by other items before we see the YF-19 again. This is not to say it has been canceled but our patience will hopefully be rewarded with perfection. Actually, is there near 1:1 bootleg of the YF-19 out yet? I would love to get one to have as a placeholder until Yamato releases the YF-19 FP.
