Don't get me wrong, I love his reviews. I agree that he doesn't dwell on useless info like the box, trays and whatnot, which many reviewers tend to do. It's just that I think he should have done a couple of transformations beforehand to familiarize himself with the toy before doing it onscreen. TBH, if I were in the same room as he was, watching him review the toy, I'd probably be much more patient. But watching it on youtube, it's like watching paint dry for some reason.- 17112 replies

I got the Banpresto one. The face is a little too gentle for Revy, but it's affordable and is the only one my hobby store brought in. She's on permanent display on my desktop.

Damn it, Hasbro, if you'd actually made ROTF Bruticus THIS good I'd buy the effing set even at double the price! And seeing as I can't get my hands on 3rd party TF's, I can only hope for an MP Bruticus if and when Takara decides to make combiners. LOL! Peaugh is even worse! The man fumbles around with the transformation, mumbling to himslef as he tries to figure it out. Almost a third of the review time is gone by the time he's done.- 17112 replies

Those cases look great, but depending on where the manufacturer is based in Asia or the US, I'll probably have to wait for HT official bat suit case.

Honestly, as much as I like BRS, I just can't keep up with the endless versions that figma churns out. OVA version, game version, WF exclusive, white version, insane version, and now it's TV the version.... So far the only TV version I've got is BRS herself. DM and BGS don't differ enough from the OVA versions to warrant a purchase. I just hope figma will continue with the other unreleased characters from Huke's artwork.

Agreed on all points. It'd be refreshing to see a less experienced Motoko fighting new enemies. That said, it would also mean that we might not be seeing any appearances from Aramaki or Togusa and the rest of the team, except perhaps in a random cameo of sorts. I'm not sure how her new (old?) team mates in her army days might turn out to be.

It's out already?! I thought the box was still just a prototype. BTW, does the case include a bat suit or just an empty cowl? As much as I'd love to get the 1/12 scale Bat, I've run out of space in my man-cave (The Tumbler took the last sizable chunk of real estate), and even finding space for Catwoman and Bane is going to be a bit of a problem. The case, though, I can still get, as I'll just replace the DX12 fig with it to display only the suit.

You're right; totally forgot about Max and Musashi.

If they're carrying off from where the SAC continuity left off, it would probably be uchikomas. The tachikomas' AI were destroyed in SAC 2nd Gig, and were replaced by the larger and less personable green uchikomas. As for the new Motoko, her design has neither the personality of Oshii's movie version, or the sexiness of the SAC version. In fact, I think she looks a little too young. I know cyborgs only look as young or old as their bodies are made to look, but the younger look might clash with Atsuko Tanaka's more mature voice...if they're hiring her for the job (they'd better). Judging from the title, I wonder it this is sort of an origin story before Motoko joined Sector 9.

Dang, and I was hoping to get this kit and display it in front of my MGS4 poster. I can barely handle decals as it is, but masking and spraying the patterns myself is a little above my current skill level. Especially now when Tamiya still hasn't brought in the parts I need for my AB from Japan yet, and all I've got at hand are some rattle cans. @electric indigo: Awesome work as usual. That VF-11 is a sight to behold. @derex3592: Can't wait to see the finished kit!

I've already got MP10 Optimus as my definitive G1 Optimus, but I'm also a big fan of the IDW-esque design. If it does become a reality, I'll be buying the toy.- 17112 replies

I bought mine from a hobby store, so I was able to get it replaced. I'm not exactly a skilled tailor, so I'll only be able to use whatever articulation is available out of the box. From the first two pics, his knees don't seem to touch the kneeguards, but it's about as good as I dare to hope for. At least it,s better than forcing the knees into the kneeguards and having him look like the one in the last two pics. I guess it goes without saying that there's absolutely no way to pose him inside the Batmobile, without damaging his suit.

I had a similar experience at the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. It was a nightmare trying to take pictures, as everyone just walks in front of whatever you're aiming at.- 17112 replies

Could be mistaken, but didn't the Gantry set come with an Iron Man figure? Or is he selling it to you piecemeal? Sorry if this isn't much help, but the only one I'm sure has removable panels is the the one with the triangle arc reactor.

Wow, sounds like a completely different Beijing than the one I last saw. If anything, they're starting to sound more like the Shanghainese. Have the public toilets improved any? I still shudder at the thought of what I saw the last time. Hell, in one restaurant I went to (and a rather classy one, I might add), the doors in the cubicles were missing! Good thing I only had to take a leak. Can't imagine taking a dump in full view of everyone else. I suppose those that have been reported eating in subway trains and busses in Hong Kong (where eating and drinking is not allowed) and peeing in public transports must be from other provinces.- 17112 replies

That's very good stuff for fan work. CGI's not exactly ILM quality, but seeing as it's an amateur effort, it's pretty impressive.

LOL! That sounds just like me in the anime statue thread! I guess unless you live in Japan, there's bound to be one thing or other you're missing out on. It's been over a decade since I last visited Beijing, but basically,, it's, "have bicycle, will travel." Traffic's not quite as bad as Vietnam, but there were more bicycles and cars on the streets back then. Might be pretty different these days. I wouldn't try the public transportation, though. From what I've read, some passengers have been known to take a leak right where they stood (this occured in Xiamen, though, not Beijing). Then again, I'm not sure if the sources are all that reliable, seeing as it came from sankaku complex (practically the biggest clubhouse for weaboos in the net). Not really bugged about it, as my MP-10 spends most of his time in bot mode, and the trailer is usually in "maintenance bay" mode.- 17112 replies

Damn, both items I got from the store were defective. The floodlight didn't work, and the Batman figure had crooked "spinal" armor on his back. I'll have to bring both back for replacements. @Kicker...or anyone that knows: is it safe to mount the DX12 figure on the bat-pod? The user manual says he can spread his legs as far as 120 degrees, but makes no mention of lateral movement. I don't want to crease the rubber parts on his hips. I'll have to let Catwoman use the bike if he can't. Yup, they're basically burning money. Most try to sell within a year or so. Some guy at a local collectible forum practically begged me to take an HT Deunan off his hands, but I was tied up with other stuff then. That said, those that have fabric clothing fare much better than others in PVC or rubber suits.

Just got my DX-12 TDKR Batman from the store, along with the Bat-signal floodlight! Kind of busy at the moment, but I'll be opening both later tonight!

Yeah, Kriska is the hotter character. TBH, I've never watched Total Eclipse or played a Muv-Luv game, but the chicks look hot. About your quandary: I'm a fan of ninjas and kunoichi, so I'll obviously vote for the second fig.

Honestly, I've no idea. I noticed that the hobby store I usually buy from stopped bringing in FP and other 3rd party stuff right around the time the ruling thing came about. I once asked the store owner to bring in PE's not-Arcee's, but he said couldn't. I asked if it was because of the new ruling, but he simply smiled and shrugged, so I didn't press the question.- 17112 replies

That's because you don't live in Asia, my friend--or more specifically, Malaysia. The "stigma" of adults collecting toys is somewhat less here, so there's no shortage hobby stores (in the capital city, at least) that sell mostly Japanese imports but also carry Hasbro TF's. The stores used to bring in 3rd party TF's, until some silly-ass toy safety ruling was made to stop "toxic" low-cost Chinese toys for toddlers from making it into the local market. Sadly, the ruling includes Hasbro TF's, since they're usually for ages 3-5 and up. Of course, it's not a blanket ban. It just means anyone who wants to bring these toys in has to go through some safety tests, but many store owners find this a bit of a hassle, and no longer bother. Thankfully, Takara's MP line and many other Japanese figures can still be freely imported, as most of them are for ages 15 and up.- 17112 replies
