  1. Maybe it doesn't look as stylish as the anime but it's a cool attempt at a real world re-creation.
  2. They do not fit super tight on my Alto 171. But I was thinking more that the plastic might actually bend.
  3. I'm wondering how heavy those MDE's are. Those wings might bend a little bit.
  4. $307 each for the two VF-4's.
  5. I think in this case you probably just got really unlucky with a piece that wasn't cast right. I haven't heard of anybody else (fingers crossed) who has had that problem. It sucks, but I think you have a truly unique defect. It'll be interesting to see if your F also has the issue though I would be terrified to take any of these newer toys apart. You're a brave man.
  6. Geeze Kuri, you're a monster! I'd love to see you whip something like this out in person. You're so fast.
  7. Hopefully Kawamori will get a look and tell them "no" or something.
  8. I suppose there's always the possibility someone will point out they have the colors wrong and change them. They aren't due out until September anyway.
  9. Yeah, they figured out how to sell these again by adding the extra bombs. I wasn't interested in more armor parts but the bombs I do want.
  10. Posing in Battroid is okay, if fiddly. Until you try to pick it up and the top half separates from the bottom. Fighter holds together well if you can tolerate the gullet. Gerwalk is a huge pain and I skip it... maybe only slightly more often then the VF-19 version of Gerwalk. I usually keep mine in Battroid and just don't pick it up much as I personally feel it's the least objectionable looking of the three modes.
  11. The plastic on the 19's is different. The other two major issues are that the plastic is thin on the wings and can be easily bent/damaged (in addition to being a bit translucent as Scyla pointed out) and the Gerwalk joint in the thigh can be easily snapped, though it hasn't happened in awhile, because it only clicks down three times but seems like (and there should be... but that would further show how poorly designed the ankles are) a fourth click and there isn't.
  12. Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard of this game before. It looks like it could be interesting/fun but the trailer itself is shot/directed very poorly and doesn't get the game across as well as it could in terms of potential excitement.
  13. I'm waiting until the last minute to make sure I have saved as much money as possible to pay for it. LOL
  14. To be honest with you the entire thing is pretty poorly designed IMO. Be careful with all of the joints and understand that in both Gerwalk and Battroid the Torso section does not secure like on the VF-19. It's a floppy mess all around really.
  15. They did use different plastics back then too. Just via touch you can tell those really old 1/60's were a lot different/more brittle. People were discovering breaking shoulders on their YF-19's and breaking arms on their VF-0's many years before this. The newer toys have specifically had most of those old breaking joints replaced with diecast, likely to avoid such problems in the future. There's always a chance still.
  16. Cool, I want to see that. Back on topic... the 17 seems to be a big favorite with all of my friends eight to eleven year old boys. Interesting how all of them who want to come look at my collection all seem drawn to the 17's. Anybody have kids/nephews/etc... who have noticed this too?
  17. I want to see what you come up with too!
  18. Sweet score, bro!
  19. You can still find one of those two for pretty cheap..
  20. The Kai is divisive in it's own right for being an intense color and having a face on a Valk so the 19S was more popular because it was the same mold as the new VF-19 but not such an eyesore in the view of many. PLENTY of people on this board were waiting for the 19F because they weren't big fans of the five laser turret head and/or the Yellow markings. I wouldn't say the F was "meh" to a lot of people at all. And like the 17S the 19S has had the luxury of being available for a while and having it's price slashed. The F is still very new and hasn't been warming shelves long enough to warrant the clearance prices the two S models have received.
  21. Interesting, it's not Rocksteady working on it this time. I wonder if that will be to it's detriment or not.
  22. Other than having to spend the extra money that's a really good idea, the S looks bad-ass in Battroid anyway. People had problems with both the color and head for the 17S and 19S so that makes both the 17D and 19F the more popular to buy. On top of that the 17 isn't as popular a fighter as the 19 in general and the engineering on the 17 isn't as good as the 19 so that makes doubly more sense the F would sell before the D which would sell before either of the S models. Personally I'm no fan of the Yellow markings either but the S head on the 17 in Battroid really does look very cool.
  23. Other than forcing the relationship with Peter and Gwen too fast/hard I thought the movie was good.
  24. You can get the 17S for half the price because it was a shelf-warmer. The D is overwhelmingly more popular. Most of the people on this very board said they were skipping the S in favor of the D.
