This further makes me think that the miss-alignment with the wings (everybody thinks I'm crazy for noticing) is also due to something similar.

I agree the side profile still of Godzilla doesn't look great and the stubby neck has put me off but all of the, admittedly limited, footage I've seen of Godzilla in motion looks really good. This guy is built for a fight. -
I would say wash your hands first and don't slide your fingers along any of the surfaces while applying hard pressure. There's never really a place on any of the Valks that is so covered in decals that you can't hold it without avoiding them. Even in dusty New Mexico I've never had a problem with the decals becoming dirty. The only decal I've had start to come off is on this new 19, and it's the danger sticker that is split across two transforming sections on the hips. Though I did notice when applying them that they didn't seem nearly as sticky as the rest of the decals on the sheet so it's possible I just got a few bums.

I was trying to get a look at the bottom of the fighter as I was thinking the same thing. I can't see where an armature could even be tucked on this thing.

Do we even know where/how the gunpod mounts in fighter with the missile rack stowed?

I always am taken aback when someone new asks about Macross and everybody tells them to watch DYRL. Without knowing the story of Macross already DYRL makes NO SENSE. It doesn't even attempt to clue you in, not to mention they change a lot. Other then the animation looking good it's a terrible spring board for any sort of plot or story.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when you said shoulder. I do not know, nor have I tried, to remove that piece. Do you actually need to remove it to tighten it? The piece of armor near the neck you can swap for the missile packs is the clavicle.

I guess in the instance you would have the radar dish it would just never be stowed, always have that tail turned upward in deployment. I suppose you also could have additional packages attached to the two hard points closest to the body of the craft and when it transforms they would be attached to the forearms. That would make it look a whole lot like the Elint Seeker in Battroid actually. Troop transport would just be a slightly different looking style of box really.
